Modeling for a Sustainable Electricity Supply in Uzbekistan

        Abdulla Ibragimov(Abdulla Ibragimov ),Elmurod Hoshimov(Elmurod Hoshimov ) 적정기술학회 2023 적정기술학회지(Journal of Appropriate Technology) Vol.9 No.3

For nations to achieve mobility as well as economic and social growth, a steady supply of electric power is crucial. Investments in capacity building and raising operational standards are necessary for the reliability and consistency of the delivery of electricity. A decision-making in the sector has become difficult for investors and policymakers, due to challenges associated with the electricity sector including delays in generation and infrastructure construction, R&D, natural gas supply, fluctuations in demand and environmental concerns. Additionally, the power sector is dynamic and perpetually changes overtime. Electricity supply and demand is highly complex and dynamic in Uzbekistan. Understanding the causal linkages between major system variables that exist Uzbekistan’s electricity system is crucial for making systematic and long-term policy decisions. This work proposes a computer simulation model based on system dynamics technique. The simulation outcomes revealed that investments in power generation capacity and efficiency enhancement are required in the country to provide a sustainable electricity.

      • What Givers and Receivers do during the Peer Feedback Process : An analysis of Korean EFL students' writing at different proficiency levels

        Abdulla Ziyadullaev,Mi-Lim Ryoo 한국언어과학회 2020 한국언어과학회 학술대회 Vol.2020 No.10

Peer feedback which is believed to have the potential to develop students’ writing skills has been recognized as an essential component in EFL as well as ESL writing classes. With its growing application to writing classrooms, an increasing number of studies have conducted from different perspectives to investigate mainly its effects on student writers’ writing skills. However, relatively little research has tackled on what and how the feedback givers and receivers perform during the course of giving and receiving peer feedback. The purpose of the present study is to broaden our understanding of peer feedback in EFL writing settings by closely examining what and how Korean EFL students at different proficiency levels perform, and respond to, peer feedback. Twenty-two low- and 22 high-intermediate university students (44 students in total) participated in the study. This study adapted both quantitative and qualitative approaches. First, the students’ feedback on the essays was analyzed in two aspects: global aspect (e.g., content and organization) and local aspect (e.g., word choice, grammar, and punctuations). Second, the students’ revisions based on peer feedback were scrutinized to appreciate how feedback effected the subsequent revision of the essay. Finally, interviews were also implemented to understand the receivers’ judgement on peer feedback. The findings of the study will offer some pedagogical implications.

As mentioned above, the aim of the paper to paint a broad picture of the multimedia, and information technology based teaching and learning systems in the Rep. of Maldives. While the utilisation of such systems is still in its infancy stages, it is envisioned that will drastically change in the coming years as improvements in infrastructures, reduction in access costs and availability of skilled personnel become favourable.

      • The Principle of Good Faith in Contracts: Qatari Law Perspective

( Abdulla Hamad Al Mulla ) 고려대학교 법학연구원 2017 The Asian Business Lawyer Vol.19 No.-

Good faith is one of the most important principles of Civil Law as it governs all types of contracts including commercial, administrative and private civil contracts. This principle finds its importance through balancing the contracts parties position and saving their rights towards each other. On the same note, the principle of good faith allows the judge to interfere in the contractual relationship in order to balance the contractual relationship between the parties. Hence, there is a duty for any contractual party to act with Good Faith otherwise a party to a contract could be held responsible according to the contract law. This article illustrates the principle of good faith in Arab legislation comparing it with other comparative civil law legislation especially in France and Germany. In addition to that, the article deals with the application phase of the principle of good faith by presenting and analyzing various legal precedents about this topic. Furthermore, the article discusses the latest development in Qatari contract Law regarding the legal framework of the principle of good faith in the legislation and jurisprudence.

Effects of Tunneling Current on STM Imaging Mechanism for Alkanethiol Self-assembled Monolayers on Au(111)

Abdulla Hel Al Mamun,손승배,한재량 대한화학회 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.1

We investigated the effects of tunneling current on scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) images of 1-octanethiol (OT) and 1-decanethiol (DT) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). At a low tunneling current, the domain boundaries and ordered alkanethiol molecules were clearly resolved. As the tunneling current was increased at a constant bias voltage, however, the STM images showed disordered structures of the OT and DT SAMs. As the tunneling current was reduced back to low values, the ordered structures of the alkanethiol molecules reappeared. The reversibility of the process suggests that the sulfur head groups did not rearrange under any of the tunneling current conditions. On the basis of our observations, which are inconsistent with the standard model for STM imaging of molecules on metal surfaces, we consider the STM imaging mechanism in terms of a two-region tunneling junction model.

Reproductive Disorders that Limits the Reproductive Performances in Dairy Cows of Bangladesh

        Abdulla Al Maruf,Ashit Kumar Paul,Napolean Bonaparte,Mosharrof Hossain Bhuyian,Mohammed Shamsuddin 사단법인 한국동물생명공학회 2014 한국동물생명공학회지 Vol.29 No.2

The reproductive disorders are the major causes of reproductive infertility in cows that affect the total annual calfcrop, resulting in great economic loss in Bangladesh. The aim of the study was to find out the reproductive disorders(RD) in dairy cows that markedly influences the reproductive performances in aspect of Bangladesh. A total numberof 1658 dairy cows were selected according to their body condition score (BCS) in different farms at the southernpart of Bangladesh during the period of 2011 to 2012. The preliminary data (basic information) were collected directlyfrom the dairy farmer’s record books and asking questions according to a prescribed questionnaires as well as thediagnosis of RD was presumptively confirmed on the basis of history, clinical signs and examination of animals byultrasonography and others necessary tools. There are thirteen major reproductive disorders were identified. Overallprevalence of reproductive disorders at that area were 23%, among of these anoestrus 5.1%, repeat breeder 3.7%,metritis 4.4%, poor heat detection 1.6%, ovarian cyst 0.36%, retain placenta 4.6%, dystocia 0.97% and pyometra0.24%. It is indicated that anoestrus and retention of placenta after calving was most hazardous cause of infertilitywhereas the metritis and repeat breeder were the second line of consequence. RD had shown significantly higherincidence in low BCS (≤2) than that of fair (2.5) and very good (≥3∼3.5). In conclusion, the highest RD especiallyanoestrus and retention of placenta is very alarming for reproductive loss which might be needed further research toidentify the specific cause of these disorders for establishment a profitable dairying and dairy population.

Givers and Receivers of Peer Feedback: An Analysis of Korean EFL Students’ Writing

        ( Abdulla Ziyadullaev ),( Mi-lim Ryoo ) 글로벌영어교육학회 2022 Studies in English education Vol.27 No.2

Peer feedback has become recognized as an essential component of EFL writing class because it is believed to aid the development of writing quality. The purpose of the present study is to broaden our understanding of peer feedback in EFL writing settings by closely examining what and how different skill level Korean EFL students perform and respond to peer feedback. Twenty each of low- and high-level university students participated in the study. This study adopted both quantitative and qualitative approaches to analyze peer partners’ reviews and responses to them. The study found that the low-level students received more comments than did the high-level. With feedback types given, direct corrections of the mistakes in the essays were predominantly performed, and comments on the local aspect of an essay exceeded those on the global aspect in both levels. With respect to responses to feedback, both groups accepted more local aspect comments than global ones, and particularly low-level students accepted more local comments than did the high-level. The high-level students took a more selective approach to peer feedback than did the low-level students. Overall, low-level students incorporated more the peer’s comments into their subsequent revisions than did high-level students. Some pedagogical implications are made.

The tryptophan utilization concept in pregnancy

        ( Abdulla A-b Badawy ) 대한산부인과학회 2014 Obstetrics & Gynecology Science Vol.57 No.4

The decrease in maternal plasma total (free + albumin-bound) tryptophan (Trp) during the third pregnancy trimester is attributed to induction of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO). When measured, free [Trp] is increased because of albumin depletion and non-esterified fatty acid elevation. The Trp depletion concept in pregnancy is therefore not supported because of incorrect interpretation of changes in Trp disposition and also for not addressing mouse strain differences in Trp-related responses and potential inhibition of Trp transport by the IDO inhibitor 1-methyl tryptophan. Application of the Trp utilization concept in pregnancy offers several physiological advantages favoring fetal development and successful outcome, namely provision of Trp for fetal protein synthesis and growth, serotonin for signaling pathways, kynurenic acid for neuroprotection, quinolinic acid for NAD+ synthesis, and other kynurenines for suppression of T cell responses. An excessive increase in Trp availability could compromise pregnancy by undermining T cell suppression, e.g., in pre-eclampsia.

Analytical Coexistence Benchmark for Assessing the Utmost Interference Tolerated by IEEE 802.20

Abdulla, Mouhamed,Shayan, Yousef R. Korea Information Processing Society 2011 Journal of information processing systems Vol.7 No.1

Whether it is crosstalk, harmonics, or in-band operation of wireless technologies, interference between a reference system and a host of offenders is virtually unavoidable. In past contributions, a benchmark has been established and considered for coexistence analysis with a number of technologies including FWA, UMTS, and WiMAX. However, the previously presented model does not take into account the mobility factor of the reference node in addition to a number of interdependent requirements regarding the link direction, channel state, data rate and system factors; hence limiting its applicability for the MBWA (IEEE 802.20) standard. Thus, over diverse modes, in this correspondence we analytically derived the greatest aggregate interference level tolerated for high-fidelity transmission tailored specifically for the MBWA standard. Our results, in the form of benchmark indicators, should be of particular interest to peers analyzing and researching RF coexistence scenarios with this new protocol.
