p-iodo-phenyl octadecyl ether (I-POE)와 p-iodo-phenyl docosyl ether (I-PDE)의 분자의 흑연표면에서의 자기조립과 이 두 분자로 이루어진 혼합물의 자기조립을 주사 터널링 현미경을 이용하여 연구하였다. 각 분자 시스템은 흑연 표면에서 head-to-tail 배향의 안정된 단분자막으로 자기조립한다. 혼합물 시스템에서는 I-POE와 I-PDE 분자들은 표면에서 섞이지 않고, 고립된 단분자막 도메인을 형성한다. 특히 I-POE 분자는 흑연 표면에서 단분자막 구조를 우선적으로 형성하는데 이는 알킬 사슬 길이와 작용기를 가진 헤드 그룹의 효과에 기인한다. The molecular assembly of p-iodo-phenyl octadecyl ether (I-POE), p-iodo-phenyl docosyl ether (I-PDE) and a binary mixture of these two molecules on graphite has been studied using a scanning tunneling microscope. Each molecular system self-assembles on the graphite surface to form a stable monolayer with a head-to-tail configuration. For the binary system, the I-POE and I-PDE molecules do not mix on the surface, preferring instead to form isolated monolayer domains. Here, the I-POE molecules are preferentially adsorbed on the graphite surface, due to the effects of alkyl chain length and the functional group on the monolayer structure.

We characterized the physisorption of p-iodo-phenyl octadecyl ether molecules (I-POE) onto superlattice regions of graphite surfaces using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The formation of self-organized IPOE monolayers does not affect the overall structures of moiré patterns and their modulation periods. However, the packing density of the I-POE monolayer and the orientations of lamella structures were sensitive to the underlying superlattice structure. Depending on the bias voltage, the STM images selectively showed moiré pattern, I-POE layer, or both. Reflecting the local density of states at a certain energy level, the STM images thereby revealed the relative energy level scale of the superlattice with respect to the molecular orbitals of I-POE.
흑연 표면에 형성된 dipyrromethene-trimer 분자의 저차원 나노구조의 주사 터널링 현미경 연구

Dipyrromethene 유도체 분자 중 하나인 삼각형 모양의 Co-DPM 거대분자 (Co-DPM-trimer, Fig. 1)를 이용하여 흑연 표면에서 다양한 저차원 분자 나노구조를 형성할 수 있었으며, 이를 주사 터널링 현미경(scanning tunneling microscope)으로 관찰하였다. Co-DPM-trimer 분자를 $CH_2Cl_2$ 용매에 녹여 흑연 표면에 뿌리면, 용매가 증발되며 그 동안 표면에 분자 나노구조가 형성된다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 두께의 긴 1차원 분자선과 2차원 구조인 육각형 패턴을 관찰하였다. 1차원 분자선과 2차원 육각형 패턴의 높낮이 및 구조를 분석한 결과, 1차원 분자선의 경우 흑연 표면에 'edge-on'정렬로 연속된 $\pi-\pi$ stacking 상호작용에 의해서, 그리고 육각형 패턴 구조는 'face-on'정렬을 통해서 형성된 것으로 보인다. We have investigated the low-dimensional nanostructures produced by adsorption of triangular Co coplexed dipyrromethane(DPM-trimer, Fig. 1) on graphite surface by using scanning tunneling microscope. DPM-trimer deposition on the graphite surface leads to the formation of long 1-D molecular wires and 2-D hexagonal patterns. We analyzed the heights and structures of 1-D molecular wires and 2-D hexagonal patterns. The 1-D molecular wires were formed 'edge-on' alignments on graphite surface result of continuos $\pi-\pi$ stacking interactions. The other case of 2-D hexagonal patterns were formed 'face-on' alignments on graphite surface.
Ring and Volcano Structures Formed by a Metal Dipyrromethene Complex

Dichloromethane liquid droplets containing a cobalt dipyrromethene trimer deposited on a graphite surface were found to form coffee ring, toroid ring, or volcano dot structures due to the redistribution of the solute during solvent evaporation. The shapes and size distributions of the ring structures depended on the drying temperature. The shape differences were attributed to the fact that the solvent evaporation rate controlled the self-assembly process that yielded the coffee stain and pinhole structures.

The bending and stretching power of the elbow, waist, and knee joints were measured in 26 adult men who took part in weight training to keep in good shape. The results were as follows. 1. The bending and stretching power of elbow joint of men in their 30's, 33.64㎏+4.25, 17.30+5.25, is higher than those in any other age groups. In stretching power of the elbow joint, with a meaningful score of p<0.001, it shows positive correlation. 2. The bending power of waist joint of men in their 30's, 27.17㎏+5.96, and stretching power of the waist of men in their 20's, 90.91㎏+11.3, are highest. Stretching power of the waist joint shows positive correlation of a meaningful score of 1-0.1% in 3 items. 3. The bending and stretching power of the knee joint of men in their 20's, is 13.29㎏+2.56, 56.85㎏+11.79. Stretching power of the knee joint shows positive correlation of 5-1% in 5 other items. 4. The bending and stretching power of the waist joint and knee joint plays more important roles in muscle function of body exercise than any other muscle powers. Muscle power improves through constant training, and it tends to weaken with aging.
