Recently, as variety of automobile design has been come out, the impact member is taking hold instead of impact beam cause of its high degree of design freedom. But research has shown that press-formed member has some problems such as money cost and restriction of forming. This paper introduces ‘Roll Forming method’ to make up for the previous weak points. With the Roll Forming method, we propose optimal designed impact member considering energy absorption analysis, cost, weight and production efficiency.

It describes a hybrid door that is being developed in advance by applying aluminium to the outer panel with the greatest weight saving effect on the door and steel on the inner panel assembly requiring high formability and weldability.
