      • Understanding and Responding to Burnout in Social Workers

        It is a serious concern that human service specialists whose work is to help others in distress are more likely to experience burnout. Among these specialists, social workers ’ burnout is known to be the most severe. In this situation, this paper aims to gain a multidimensional understanding of the burnout of social workers and seek a systematic response through a comprehensive literature review. This paper deals with the concept, symptoms, related problems, and factors that trigger burnout, and it proposes specific countermeasures. Burnout is a term used to define a syndrome that occurs in various types of workers whose work is to deal with people. Work stress and secondary traumatic stress require special attention because concepts such as stress is closely related to burnout. Also, emotional labor is considered a significant factor that affects social workers ’ burnout. The various factors that affect the burnout of social workers can be divided into three categories: individual factors, work factors, and organizational factors. However, burnout is heavily dependent on the haracteristics of the work or institution. That is why not only individual efforts but efforts at an organizational level are essential. Since burnout directly impacts the effectiveness of social work practice, we must actively prevent and manage it as a community. Following are some solutions to consider. First, efforts to decrease work overload, role ambiguity, and role conflict should be made. Second, a rational and autonomous communication and decision-making system should be set up under the healthy leadership. Third, an adequate supervision should be in place. Fourth, various educational and mental health programs should be provided to reduce burnout in social workers. Fifth, a reinforcement of professionalism through reeducation is needed. Sixth, we have to defend the human rights of social workers.

        속도론적 분할법을 통한 말단 에폭사이드로부터 고광학순도의 아렌술폰산 2-하이드록시 에스터의 합성

        본 논문에서는 매우 효과적이고 고광학선택적으로 화합물 중의 말단기에 존재하는 에폭사이드기를 알킬 또는 아렌술 폰산으로 여는 방법에 관하여 기고한다. Al, Ga 및 In과 같은 루이스산을 함유하는 이핵성 키랄 코발트살렌 착체는 염화테트라부틸암모늄 존재하에서 터샬리 부틸메틸에테르를 용매로 사용할 때, 이 반응에 대하여 광학선택적으로 높은 촉매활성을 나타내었다. 테트라부틸암모늄염 중의 음이온의 종류에 따라 페닐글리시딜 에테르의 에폭시 고리를 파라-톨루엔술폰산으로 여는 반응에서의 촉매활성과 선택도가 다르게 나타났다. 반응활성과 선택도는 Cl- > I- > Br- > OH-의 순서를 보였다. 서로 다른 루이스 산점을 갖는 Co-Al, Co-Ga 및 Co-In 착체는 촉매반응 중에 높은 상승효과를 나타내었다. AlCl₃를 함유한 이핵성 키랄 코발트살렌 착체 촉매가 가장 높은 활성과 91% ee에 이르는 높은 광학선택성을 보였다 This paper describes the very efficient and highly enantioselective ring opening of terminal epoxides with alkyl and arene sulfonic acid. The dinuclear chiral (salen) Co complexes bearing Lewis acids of Al, Ga and In catalyze the reaction enantioselectively in the presence of tetrabutylammonium chloride using tert-butyl methyl ether as a solvent. The variation of the anion of the tetra butyl ammonium salt has significant impact on the reactivity and selectivity of the asymmetric ring opening of phenyl glycidyl ether with p-toluenesulfonic acid. The order of reactivity and selectivity was found to be Cl- > I- > Br- > OH-. Strong synergistic effects of the different Lewis acid centers of Co-Al, Co-Ga and Co-In complexes were observed in the catalytic process. The dinuclear chiral salen catalyst containing AlCl₃was found to be most active and highly enantioselective (91% ee).

        인터넷을 통한 스트리밍 서비스의 품질 향상을 위하여 일반적으로 알려진 MIB 의 PUBLIC 영역의 정보뿐만 아니라 스트리밍 서버 프로그램 자체를 관리할 수 있는 망관리 시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서 각 스트리밍 서버에 접속하고 있는 connection 정보, session 정보, stream 에 대한 정보, access 정보 등을 SNMP 통신을 이용하여 망관리 시스템을 구현 하였다.

        Evaluation of Metabolic Syndrome Risk in Korean Premenopausal Women

        <P><B>Background</B> In clinical practice, using the patient's waist circumference (WC) to evaluate visceral obesity may underestimate disorders with a metabolic origin. This study examined whether or not the WC derived from the cut-off point of the visceral fat area (VFA) can reflect the features of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in premenopausal women. <B>Methods and Results</B> Computed tomography-scanned VFA, MetS components and the concentrations of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) and adiponectin were measured in a total of 349 premenopausal women. The VFA at the L1 and the L4 sites was a significant index (p<0.001) of incremental MetS risk. Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis showed that 75 cm<SUP>2</SUP> of VFA at L4 and 87.5 cm<SUP>2</SUP> at L1 were the optimal thresholds for discrimination of MetS risk. Significant differences in all MetS components, as well as CRP (p<0.05) and adiponectin levels (p<0.005), were observed when subjects were subdivided by the L4 VFA cut-off point (<75/≥75 cm<SUP>2</SUP>), whereas there was a significant difference only in the triglycerides level in the groups divided by WC (WC <88/≥88 cm). Moreover, subjects with a lower WC - higher VFA showed a similar pattern in MetS components and lower adiponectin than those with a higher WC - higher VFA. <B>Conclusions</B> This study clarified that VFA rather than WC is a major determinant of MetS risk in premenopausal women.         중간세공을 갖는 껍질로 구성된 속이 빈 마이크로 탄소입자의 합성 및 이들의 전기화학적 특성

        본 연구에서는 구형의 폴리스티렌 구슬을 틀로 사용하여, 크기분포가 좁으면서 속은 비어있고 벽이 다공성인 구조의 탄소 마이크로 캡슐을 합성하였다. 폴리스티렌의 표면은 무기물인 실리카졸이 쉽게 입혀질 수 있도록 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP)을 코팅하여 변조하였다. PVP가 코팅된 PS 마이크로 입자표면에 SBA-16 졸을 부착시킨 다음, 실리카층에 존재하는 중간 크기의 세공 내에 탄소원을 채워 넣는 음각식 형뜨기법을 적용함으로써 속이 빈 구조의 탄소 마이크로캡슐을 제조하였다. 탄화과정을 거치고 틀로 사용한 다공성 실리카입자를 HF로 용해하면, 좁은 입자크기분포를 갖는 중간세공이 함유된 계란껍질형의 탄소입자를 얻을 수 있었다. 계란껍질형 탄소 마이크로캡슐 입자의 다공성과 전기화 학적 특성은 XRD, SEM, TEM, 질소분자 흡/탈착분석법 및 cyclic voltammetry법으로 평가하였다. 이들 탄소입자는 슈퍼캐패시터와 같은 전자재료로서 유효하게 사용될 만한 높은 전기전도도와 용량을 나타내었다. In this study, highly monodispersed porous carbon microcapsules with a hollow core were synthesized using polystyrene (PS) beads as a hard template. The surface of PS was first modified with polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP) for the easy attachment of inorganic silica sol. After coating the surface of PVP modified PS microspheres with SBA-16 sol, the carbon microcapsules with a hollow macroporous core were fabricated through reverse replication method by filling carbon sources in the mesopores of silica mold. The hollow carbons having a mesoporous shell structure and narrow particle size distribution could be obtained after the carbonization of carbon source and the dissolution of silica mold by HF solution. The mesoporous characteristics and electrochemical properties of hollow carbon microcapsules were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, N2 adsorption/desorption analysis and cyclic voltammetry. They showed the high electric conductivity and capability for use as efficient electro-materials such as a supercapacitor.

        폴리에틸렌이민 전처리와 황화구리 무전해 도금에 의한 전기전도성 면섬유의 제조

        면섬유에 폴리에틸렌이민(PEI)을 처리하여 양이온화시키고, 이를 황산구리와 티오황산나트륨 혼합 용액으로 황화구리 무전해 도금함으로써 전기전도성 면섬유를 제조하였다. PEI 전처리 및 황화구리 도금에 따른 시료들의 표면저항, 마찰대전압, 전자파 차폐효율 변화 등을 분석하였다. 면섬유에 대한 PEI 전처리는 0.5% 이하의 낮은 농도로도 충분하였으며, PEI 전처리된 면직물에 4% 황화구리와 4% 티오황산나트륨 혼합 용액으로 80 °C에서 2시간 동안 황화구리 도금시키면 표면저항이 1~2 Ω/sq 이하인 우수한 전기전도성을 나타내었다. 0.1% PEI 용액으로 전처리한 후 황화구리로 무전해 도금함으로써 0.01 MHz~3 GHz의 주파수 대역에서 35~40 dB의 우수한 전자파 차폐효율을 갖는 전기전도성 면직물을 제조할 수 있었다. A method of preparing electroconductive cotton fabrics by cationization of cotton fibers with polyethyleneimine (PEI) treatment, followed by electroless plating of copper sulfide with a mixed solution of copper sulfate and sodium thiosulfate was studied. The changes in surface resistance, frictional static voltage, and electromagnetic shielding efficiency of samples according to PEI pretreatment and copper sulfide plating were analyzed. PEI pretreatment on cotton fibers was sufficient at low concentrations below 0.5%. Copper sulfide plating on PEI pretreated cotton fabric with 4% copper sulfate and 4% sodium thiosulfate mixed solution at 80 °C for 2 h showed good surface resistance of 1~2 Ω/sq or less. By electroless plating with copper sulfide after pretreatment with 0.1% PEI solution, an electrically conductive cotton fabric having an excellent electromagnetic shielding effect of 35~40 dB in the frequency band of 0.01 MHz to 3 GHz could be prepared.

        Syringin from Stem Bark of Fraxinus rhynchophylla Protects Aβ(25-35)- induced Toxicity in Neuronal Cells

        The medicinal herb Jinpi, derived from the dried stem barks of Fraxinus rhynchophylla belonging to Oleaceae is widely used as a variety of Korean folk remedies for anti-inflammatory, febricide, antidiarrhea, and antileukorrhea diseases. In the course of screening antidementia agents from natural products, F. rhynchophylla showed significant inhibitory activity toward Aβ(25-35)-induced neuronal cell death. An active principle was isolated and identified as syringin. When the neuroblastoma cells were exposed to 50 μM Aβ(25-35), 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) reduction rate (survival rate) decreased to 60.21 ± 2.16% over control while syringin treated ones recovered cell viability up to 79.12 ± 1.39% at 20 μM. In addition, 20 μM syringin almost completely removed Aβ(25-35)-induced reactive oxygen species. The neuroprotective effect of syringin seemed to be originated from the reduction of apoptosis since decrease in caspase-3 activity and expression, reduction in cleaved PARP, and DNA fragmentation were observed. These results suggest that F. rhynchophylla and syringin are expected to be useful for preventing Aβ(25-35)-induced neuronal cell damage.

      • 구강보건교육이 학령전기아동의 구강보건행위에 미치는 영향

        The object of this study is to find if the oral health education is effective for preschooler's oral health behavior. The study progressed at the preschool in Agu Seoul intended for 37 preschoolers. The age of preschool children were from 5 to 7. The questionnaire and check-list were conducted to research their oral health behavior 37 preschoolers. The group was educated one time for a week period. As a result, the eduated group learned a proper tooth-brushing and general knowledge about oral health through the oral health education. The number of the children's tooth-brushing was increased in most of the preschool children and the awareness of the childth was improved. The children could identify which food is bad and which food is good for the oral health and the wrong oral health knowledge was made correct. Through this study oral health education was effective for preschooler's oral health behavior and the education should be expanded nationally to promote oral health through accurate oral health behavior.
