모빌의 디지털 재현

Recently, there are many attempts to reproduce real world fine art pieces in digital forms. The digital representations are convenient to store and/or transmit. In contrast, mobiles, or moving sculptures, such as those designed by Alexander Calder cannot to reproduced realistically by usual reproduction techniques. Since mobiles are originally designed to generate motions in response to external forces applied to it, people could not fully enjoy them through photographs or static images. We present a virtual mobile system where use can easily control the mobile and can feel the impressions that the artist originally intended to provide. A real-world mobile is reconstructed in a three-dimensional physically-based model. and then virtual wind is generated to give motions to it. The motions of the mobile are generated by constraint dynamics and impulse dynamics techniques, which are modified to fully utilize the characteristics of the mobile, and finally give interactive displays on the PC platforms. The techniques presented can easily be extended to simulate other interactive dynamics systems. 최근에는 회화과 같은 미술 작품들을 디지털 형태로 재현하려는 시도들이 활발해지고 있다. 디지털 형태로 재현된 회화 작품들은 저장하거나 전송하기에 편리한 장점을 가진다. 반면에 알렉산터 칼더(Alexander Calder)가 창시한 모빌, 즉 움직이는 조각은 그 특성상 기존의 방법으로는 컴퓨터에서 재현하기가 까다롭다. 모빌은 바람과 같은 외부의 힘에 의해 각각의 조각이 움직이도록 제작되어 있으므로, 사진이나, 정지 영상과 같은 고정된 형태로는 작가의 제작 의도를 충분히 전달하기에 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터상에서 재현된 모빌을 사용자들이 사실적으로 감상할 수 있는 물리 기반의 가상 모빌 시스템을 제안한다. 실세계의 모빌을 3차원 모델로 구성한 후, 가상의 바람을 생성하여 그 모빌이 움직일 수 있도록 하였다. 모빌의 움직임을 운동학 방법들을 사용하여 사실적으로 표현한다. 기존의 제약조건을 가지는 동역학(Donstraint dynamics)방법과 충격역학(impulse dynamics)방법들을 모빌의 구조에 적합하도록 개선하여, 모빌의 움직임을 PC 환경에서 대화형으로 재현하였다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 속도 향상 방법들을 모빌과 유사한 위상 구조를 가지는 3차원 모델에서도 적용 될 수 있다.

Distributed Location Management Scheme for Reducing Overhead Traffic of HLR in Large Personal Communication Networks

In this paper we describe a distributed location management scheme to reduce the bottleneck problem of HLR in Large Personal Communication Networks (LPCNs). Using analytical modeling and numerical simulation, we show that replicating location information is both appropriate and efficient for small Personal Communication Network (PCN). Then, we extend the scheme in a hierarchical environment to reduce overhead traffic and scale to LPCNs. Through extensive numerical results, we show the superiority of our scheme compared to the current IS-41 standard scheme. 본 논문에서는 거대한 PCN망에서 HLR의 오버헤드 트래픽을 줄이기 위한 분산위치관리기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 수학적 분석과 시뮬레이션 분석을 통하여 복제하는 위치 정보가 작은 PCN망에서도 효율적이고 적합하다는 것을 보여준다. 또한 위치관리의 오버헤드 트래픽을 더욱 줄이기 위하여 계층환경으로 구성하여 거대한 PCN망의 규모로 확장할 수 있다. 분석 결과를 통해서 제안된 분산위치관리기법이 표준 IS-41기법보다 우수하다는 것을 보인다.

Improved Intelligent Routing Protocol in Vehicle Ad-hoc Networks

Greedy protocols show good performance in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) environment in general. But they make longer routes causing by surroundings or turn out routing failures in some cases when there are many traffic signals which generate empty streets temporary, or there is no merge roads after a road divide into two roads. When a node selects the next node simply using the distance to the destination node, the longer route is made by traditional greedy protocols in some cases and sometimes the route ends up routing failure. Most of traditional greedy protocols just take into account the distance to the destination to select a next node. Each node needs to consider not only the distance to the destination node but also the direction to the destination while routing a packet because of geographical environment. The proposed routing scheme considers both of the distance and the direction for forwarding packets to make a stable route. And the protocol can configure as the surrounding environment. We evaluate the performance of the protocol using two mobility models and network simulations. Most of network performances are improved rather than in compared with traditional greedy protocols. 기존의 Greedy 경로 프로토콜은 일반적으로 차량 Ad-hoc 통신 (Vehicle Ad-hoc Networks) 에서 좋은 성능을 보인다. 그러나 일시적으로 거리를 비게 만드는 교통신호가 존재하는 구간이나 분리된 도로가 합류하는 지점이 없는 도시의 도로에서 지형적인 영향으로 Greedy 라우팅 프로토콜은 잘못된 경로 라우팅 된 경우 불필요하게 경로가 길어지거나 라우팅 실패가 많이 발생한다. 또한, 단순하게 목적지 노드와의 직선거리를 가지고 노드들의 우선순위를 부여하고 가장 낮은 값을 가진 노드를 중계노드로 선택한다. 최근에 차랑 Ad-hoc 통신에서는 지리적인 환경의 특성 때문에 거리뿐만 아니라 전달 방향도 중요한 요소 중에 하나이다. 그래서 본 논문은 개선된 프로토콜을 제안 하는데 하나의 노드가 패킷을 전달할 때 목적지 노드 까지를 지능적으로 거리 및 전달 방향성을 고려하여 다음 노드를 선정하고 교통 통신 상태를 지능적 제어에 따라 보다 안정적인 경로 설정을 할 수 있게 하고 지형적 모델이 따라 자유롭게 변경이 가능 하게끔 관리한다. 제안된 프로토콜 방법의 성능 분석은 두 가지의 이동모델을 적용한 네트워크 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였고 대부분의 경우 기존 프로토콜보다 좋은 성능을 보였다.

It is very common to use the powered hand tools to enhance the productivity in various types of industry. But the use of the powered hand tools could cause health problems such as cumulative trauma disorders and vibration white fingers. In this study. the effects of hand-arm vibration and anatomical hand position on localized muscle fatigue were analyzed. Eight healthy male subjects volunteered for the study. Vibration frequencies of 0, 40, 80, 100, 150, and 200Hz and hand position of flexion and ulnar deviation were selected for the independent variables of the experiment. Median frequency shifting was used as a dependent variable. The results indicated that at the vibration frequency of 40Hz and accelation of 2g, the muscle fatigue was the greatest. For the hand position. there was significant difference between neutral and flexion. and neutral and ulnar deviation, but no difference between flexion and ulnar deviation. These results could be applied in designing powered hand tools to minimize the health problems.

VPN의 데이터 무결성 평가를 위한 VIES 설계 및 구현

인터넷을 전용망처럼 활용함으로써 비용절감과 업무효율을 증진할 수 있게 한 가상 사설망(Virtual Private Network, VPN)은 데이터의 무결성 보증이 그 핵심 기술이다. 그러므로 어떤 경우라도 VPN의 무결성 기능은 유지되어야 하며, 보안 관리자는 이를 수시로 검증하여 이상 유무를 확인 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 정보보호 시스템을 직접 공격하는 최근 해킹기법에 대비하여 VPN의 보안 취약성 정보를 자동으로 수집 평가할 수 있는 VIES(VPN Integri Evaluation System)를 개발하며, 국제공통평가기준(Common Criteria, CC)을 기반으로 평가 시나리오를 구축함으로써 평가 결과에 대한 객관적 신뢰성을 확보하고, 보안 비전문가도 쉽게 조직의 보안성 평가에 활용할 수 있는 실용성을 가질 수 있도록 하였다. Guarantee of the data integrity is important to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) which can be improved cost decreasing and effective work by applying on Internet as the private network. Thus, the integrity function in the VPN must be maintained and the security manager must be check it occasionally. In this paper we propose the VPN Integrity Evaluation System (VIES) which is collecting, and evaluating automatically the vulnerable data of VPN against current hacking mechanisms in information security system. And this VIES obtain to the results which have objectivity and fairness of evaluation by driving off the evaluation scenario based on Common Criteria (CC), and general users or non-specialist can utilize easy the security evaluation of organization.

실시간 자동차 동작을 표현하기 위한 단순화된 시뮬레이션 모델

본 논문에서는 3차원 지형 상에서 자동차의 움직임을 사실적으로 실시간에 시뮬레이션하기 위한 계산 모델을 제안한다. 자동차의 동작을 시뮬레이션하기 위해서는 자동차에 적용되는 모든 힘들과 그 힘을 받는 자동차 내의 복잡한 구조에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 자동차 역학 분야에서는 이러한 요소들을 모두 고려하는 분석 모델이 사용되고 있으나, 너무 많은 계산량 때문에 현재의 개인용 컴퓨터에서는 시뮬레이션이나 가상 현실, 게임 등의 응용 분야에서 적용시키기가 곤란하다. 본 논문에서는 자동차의 시뮬레이션에서 반드시 필요한 기본 동작들을 중심으로 비교적 사실적이면서도 계산량을 줄일 수 있는, 단순화된 자동차 동작 모델을 제안한다. 이 모델은 물리학 법칙들에 근거하였으며, 최종 구현된 시스템에서는 비교적 사실적으로 자동차의 주행, 가속, 점프, 전복 등의 동작을 표현할 수 있었다.

카니발 관점에서 본 웨이크필드 매스터의 『아벨의 살해』

As the ‘Master’ implies, Wakefield Master was a dramatist with the unique talent to blend orthodox Christianity with popular culture with parody and satire in such a way as to make us laugh, weep, despise, and pity as we experience his dramatic vision. Unlike medieval cycle plays which exclusively focus on the sacred and official Christian elements, his plays presents a striking dialogue between two very different points of view; a popular, carnival view-point and an official, orthodox one. The festive and carnivalesque elements in the Wakefield Master’s plays which are at odds with orthodox Christian culture co-exist with an orthodox Christian elements. The festive elements in the Mactacio Abel leads to a dramatic overthrow and rejection of orthodox Christian obligation. Mactacio Abel is filled with comic reversals or topsy-turvy images. Cain shares mock ruler characteristics as in the popular carnival. Cain enters the play and proceeds to rage, be abusive, and introduce elements of inversion. As festive behavior which is commonly found in the carnival tradition, beatings and verbal abuses in Mactacio Abel are performed with exaggeration and enthusiasm. Characters repeatedly subject each other to verbal abuse that connects the upper zone of the mouth and head with the lower zone of feces and the buttocks. Even serious subjects like the Mass is subjected to light-hearted parody or ridicule. The murder of Abel involves sacrifice of both animals and wheat, along with two bonfires and the overthrow and death of an authority figure.
