        정상여성의 혈청 Protein Bound Carbohydrate량에 대한 통계학적 관찰

        저자는 우리나라 정상여성의 혈청중 protein bound carbohydrate양을 밝히고 검사실 성적에서부터 정상치를 추정할 수 있는지를 관찰하기 위하여 대조군으로써 중앙대학교 의과대학 간호학과 3학년생 22명과 일반직장 신체검사상 특이한 소견이 없는 직장여성 46명 계 68명을 선정하였고 대조군으로써 1977년 12월부터 1978년 8월까지 만 9개월동안 다른 목적으로 임상병리과에 의뢰된 여자환자의 혈청중 무작위적으로 299명분을 선정하여 phenol-sulfuric method에 의하여 혈청중 PBC양을 정량하고 몇가지 통계학적 방법에 의하여 정상범위, 평균 및 표준편차를 계산 또는 추정하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 우리나라 여성의 정상혈청중 protein bournd carbohydrate량은 114.7±15.71mg/100ml이고 그 정상 범위는 83.9∼145.5mg/100ml이었다. 2. 검사실 성적으로부터 정상범위를 추정할 수 있다. 3. 검사실 성적으로부터 정상범위를 추정하는 방법들 중 여성의 혈청중 PBC량의 정상범위를 추정하는 데는 Neumann의 방법과 Waid의 방법이 좋았다. Esimation of normal range on the specific biologic phenomenon is very important and essential in diagnosing a specific disease and in suspecting the progonosis of the patients. Although the classic method for the estimation is reasonable, it is very expensive, time-spending and laborful. Thus some authors proposed several statistical methods estimating normal value from the laboratory data. And those methods are useful in quality control. Macbeth and Bekesi reported that serum level of portein bound carbohydrate of patients with malignant disease were significantly elevated as compared with that of normal individuals or that of patients with nonmalignant diseases. Snyder and Kuo reported that serum level of the protein bound carbohydrate of diabetes mellitus was elevated than that of control. In order to establish the normal range of serum level of the protein bound carbohydrate in Korean women, the auther collect 68 normal Korean adult female and 299 female patients, whoses sera were consulted in the Dept. of Clinical Pathology, from Nov. 1977 to Sept. 1978 and calculated the serum level of protein bound carbohydrate with phenol-sulfuric method. The followings were ensued results. 1. The estimated normal value of serum level of the protein bound carbohydrate in Korean female was 114.7±15.71mg/100ml. 2. Estimation of normal range of serum level of protein bound carbohydrate from laboratory data by several statistical methods were possible. 3. Among the several statistical methods in estrimation of normal range of serum level of protein bound carbohydrate, the Neuman`s and Waid`s methods were rather reliable.

        인체 탯줄유래 중간엽줄기세포의 모발 유도능 평가

        Alopecia is the medical description of the loss of hair from the head or body. Alopecia tends to be involuntary and unwelcome. Alopecia does not vitally influence one`s life but patients who undergo alopecia appeal severe mental stress. The number of alopecia patients increases steadily. The current therapies used for treating alopecia have a number of limitations and to overcome such problems, many researchers have attempted to revive hair follicles by in vitro culturing hair follicle cells and implanting them in the treatment area. In this study, umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MSCs) could be isolated and expanded successfully from the Wharton`s Jelly. Culture-expanded UC-MSCs formed aggregates similar to native dermal papilla(DP) in size and morphology under the special medium. Also the aggregates showed similar protein expression pattern of primary dermal papilla cells(DPCs). To confirm whether the aggregates could induce hair follicle instead of DP, they were transplanted with outer root sheath cells(ORSCs) in athymic nude mice`s inner-dermis where cells underwent proliferation and differentiation. After 6 weeks of transplantation, we observed new hairs on the mice`s scalp apparently. In conclusion, our results suggest that UC-MSC would be one of the cell sources for the treatment of alopecia in the future.

      • 한국 성인여성의 심미적 상악절치 위치에 관한 두부방사선 계측학적 연구

        Esthetic is one of the prime goal of the orthodontic treatment. The upper incisor position is important because it is decisive in balanced smile. This study was attemped to obtain the standards and equations on the esthetic upper incisor position. Lateral cephalometric rediographs of 66 Korean young adult females who were candidates of Miss Korea Beauty Contest were traced, measured and statistically analyed. The results were as follows ; 1. The mean and standard deviation of the measurement for upper incisor position were obtained in the Korean Beauty. 2. Among the measurements for the axis of upper incisor,1_ to Sn and 1_ to FH were highly correlated with FH-MP, ANB, FH-NPog, NAPog, Y-axis, but 1_ to SN(Is-Pr) to present axial inclination of labial surface of upper incisor didn't have any correlation with the measurements for dentofacial pattern. 3. Among the measurements for the vertical position of upper incisor, 1_ to stom had low correlation with the measurements for dentofacial pattern and 1_ to PP(mm) was highly correlated with the measurements for facial growth direction. 4. Sixteen multiple regression equations were established to predict esthetic upper incisor position balancing with dentofacial pattern. 5. It doesn't have much power of persuation to predict esthetic upper incisor position from the measurements for dentofacial pattern.

        한국 성인여성의 심미적 상악절치 위치

        교정치료 목표중 간과할 수 없는 것이 심미적 결과이다. 최근 아름다움을 평가 할때 정적인 교합 보다는 smile 시의 아름다움을 강조하고 있으며 smile 에 영향을 미치는 요소중 교정치료에 의해 크게 바뀌는 것이 상악설치 위치이므로 심미적 상악절치 위치에 대한 기준이 필요한 설성이다. 이에 저자는 안면공격 형태와 조화를 이루는 상악절치 위치에 대한 기준치, 또는 방정식을 얻고자 미스 코리아 선발대회 본선 입후보자 66 명을 대상으로 촬영한 측모두부방사선 규격사진을 계측하고 통계적으로 연구 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. l 한국 미인의 상악절치의 위치에 대한 평균치 및 표준편차를 구하였다. 2 상악 절치의 각도를 나타내는 계측치들 중 1 to SN, 1 to FH 는 FH-MP,ANB,FH-N pog, Y-axis 등과 상관성이 높았으나, 절치순면의 각도를 나타내는 1to SN(Is- Pr) 은 어느 안면골격 형태와도 상관성이 없게 나타났다. 3 ‘ 상악설치의 수식적 위치를 나타내는 계측치들 중 l to Stam 은 안면골격 형태와 낮은 상관성을 나타내었고 1 to PP(mm) 는 안면골 성장방향과 높은 상관성을 보였다. 4 ‘ 안면골격 형태와 조화를 이루는 상악절치의 위치를 계산할 수 있는 16 개의 다중회귀 방정식을 구하였다. 5 안면골격 형태와 조화를 이루는 상악정치 위치를 안면골격 형태로부터 예측하기엔 그 설명력이 다소 낮았다.

        Effect of mesenchymal cells on human hair growth and death

        Animals have typically been used in efficacy tests, but there are a number of dissimilarities between humans and animals. To overcome the problems associated with animal testing, a model which is reproduced in vitro with longterm culture with cell growth with in vivo activity must be developed. We made a gel-type dermal equivalent (DE) that contained dermal papilla cells (DPCs) or dermal sheath cells (DSCs) isolated from human hair bulbs in order to mimic human scalp tissue. Hair follicles were organ-cultured on DE containing DPCs or DSCs. The DE used for organ culture was a reconstructed 3-dimensional contraction of collagen gel, and the cell density of the DE did not affect the increase in hair length. We tested the effects of cell types in DE on increases in hair length, and the results showed a large increase in hair length and long-term viability in the air-liquid interface culture on DE containing DSCs. We compared the submerged culture with the hair air-liquid interface culture on DE using immunohistochemical staining, and found that the hair follicles that were air-liquid interface cultured on DE maintained the growth phase (anagen) for a longer period of time than the hair follicles that were submerged. Since the hair follicles were cultured under an air-liquid interface condition, the increase in hair length was a reflection of the epithelial cell growth that resulted from the improved oxygen supply and paracrine factors secreted from hair origin cells.
