AnoVid: 비디오 주석을 위한 심층 신경망 기반의 도구

In this paper, we propose AnoVid, an automated video annotation tool based on deep neural networks, that automatically generates various meta data for each scene or shot in a long drama video containing rich elements. To this end, a novel meta data schema for drama video is designed. Based on this schema, the AnoVid video annotation tool has a total of six deep neural network models for object detection, place recognition, time zone recognition, person recognition, activity detection, and description generation. Using these models, the AnoVid can generate rich video annotation data. In addition, AnoVid provides not only the ability to automatically generate a JSON-type video annotation data file, but also provides various visualization facilities to check the video content analysis results. Through experiments using a real drama video, “Misaeing”, we show the practical effectiveness and performance of the proposed video annotation tool, AnoVid.
Surface Color Measurement Uncertainties

We present a surface color measurement including quantities of surface color, methods, and uncertaintyevaluation. Based on a relation between spectral reflectance and surface color, we study how an uncertaintyof spectral reflectance propagates to surface color. In analyzing the uncertainty propagation, we dividethe uncertainty into uncorrelated components, fully correlated components, and correlated components withspectrally varying correlations. As an experimental example, we perform spectro-reflectometric measurementsfor ceramic color plates. With measured spectral reflectance and its uncertainty evaluation, we determinesurface color and analyze uncertainties of the ceramic color plates

The primary purpose of this study is to explore how pictures and working memory affect L2 vocabulary acquisition. Participants were sixth graders (N=108) who have been learning English as a foreign language (EFL). They were classified into two groups: (a) the experimental group which learned target words (10 concrete and 10 abstract nouns) with corresponding pictures and (b) the control group which learned the same words without pictures. The two groups then responded to receptive and productive vocabulary tests immediately after and two weeks after the treatment. Results showed that pictures yielded statistically significant effects on long-term receptive knowledge of concrete nouns, and short- and long-term receptive knowledge of abstract ones. Results also showed that working memory capacity was significantly associated with short- and long-term receptive knowledge of concrete nouns, not of abstract ones. Collectively, the results suggest that the effect of pictures depends on working memory capacity, word type, and retention duration. The results of this study have implications for Korean EFL learners' intentional vocabulary learning and instruction.
Nonlinear Optical Response of 1-D Photonic Crystals Fabricated by Using a Sol-Gel Method

The picosecond nonlinear optical response in .ve-bilayered SiO2/TiO2 structures of one- dimensional photonic crystals fabricated by using a sol-gel method is reported. We observe nonlin- ear optical changes in the transmission at both bandgap edges, an 8 % decrease at the high-energy edge, and a 4:5 % increase at the low-energy edge. These changes correspond to a blue shift of the bandgap. The observed reponse originates from the optical nonlinearity of the TiO2 layer.

A complete theoretical description of depolarized hyper-Rayleigh scattering under an electric eld is obtained, providing a way to determine the quadratic hyperpolarizability tensor ratio in the absence of Kleinman symmetry. From a simulation for a cylindrically shaped molecule possessing C1v symmetry, it is shown that the depolarization ratio depends strongly on the quadratic hyperpolarizability tensor ratios in the hyper-Rayleigh scattering measurement. It is suggested that the quadratic hyperpolarizability tensor ratios can be uniquely determined by the depolarization measurement in the presence of an external electric eld.

We present a display-based visual stimulator for psychophysical and electrophysiological visual sensitivity measurements. The stimulator offers various psychophysical visual stimuli and transfers the signals from external devices along with the stimulation signals to an electrophysiological recorder. As an experimental demonstration, we perform a visual sensitivity experiment in the mesopic vision range by using the display-based stimulator. The intensity of the steady-state visual evoked potential is observed to correlate with the luminance of the flickering visual stimulation. For the psychophysically determined detection thresholds, we determine the mesopic luminance, showing agreement with the perceived brightness within the uncertainty of the luminance measurement.
