Möbius syndrome is a rare congenital condition, characterized by abducens and facial nerve palsy, resulting in limitation of lateral gaze movement and facial diplegia. However, to our knowledge, there have been few studies on evaluation of cranial nerves, on MR imaging in Möbius syndrome. Herein, we describe a rare case of Möbius syndrome representing limitation of lateral gaze, and weakness of facial expression, since the neonatal period. In this case, high-resolution MR imaging played a key role in diagnosing Möbius syndrome, by direct visualization of corresponding cranial nerves abnormalities.
Apparent Sparganosis Presenting as a Palpable Neck Mass: A Case Report and Review of Literature

Sparganosis is an uncommon human parasitic infection caused by plerocercoid cysts of the genus Spirometra. Sparganosis of the neck is a rare condition, thus making it difficult to diagnose. It is often initially misdiagnosed as a lymphadenopathy or a soft tissue tumor. Herein, we describe a rare case of apparent sparganosis presenting as a palpable mass in the left neck of a 53-year-old female patient. Imaging studies played a key role in the diagnosis. In this case report, we emphasize that sparganosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a palpable superficial mass. We also stress the importance of meticulous radiological review in the context of appropriate clinical suspicion.
Anti-diabetic effect of magnesium salt extracts from deep-sea water in C57BLKS/J-db/db mice

Recently, the incidence of diabetes has increased steadily worldwide. Type 2 diabetes constitutes about 90% of all cases of diabetes, and it is associated with many complications. Currently, the drugs for therapy of type 2 diabetes are considerably limited owing to disadvantages such as side effects and high rate of secondary failure. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to develop effective therapeutic agents from safe natural products. Deep-sea water (DSW) is abundant in minerals such as potassium (K), calcium (Ca), and magnesium (Mg). Mg supplements are known for their usefulness in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. In this study, we examined the antidiabetic effect of Mg salt extracts from DSW in a diabetic mouse model. We observed that the groups treated with Mg salt extract showed better response toward fasting blood glucose level and oral glucose tolerance test when compared to the positive control. Overall, the Mg salt extract improved the symptoms of impaired fasting glucose and glucose tolerance, suggesting that it can be used as an effective agent for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Indoor gardening includes wall greening, terrariums, and flower arrangements. Among these types of indoor gardens, the terrarium is easy to access for the general public, but in Korea, because of the focus on esthetics, the original purpose of creating terrariums, which was to grow plants sustainably in an enclosed space, has been lost. In addition, miniaturization of plants is required to grow plants in an enclosed space. Since the available plant species suitable for a terrarium are limited, only plants such as succulents, cacti, and moss have been used. In this study, Bronze (X Graptosedum) was used, and these problems were solved using the following three methods: placement and growth of virusfree plants in the terrarium; extending the diversity of plants with minimal size that can be planted in terrariums; and reducing the price of in vitro plants with minimal size by achieving large-scale production. In particular, tissue-cultured succulents were developed into a Vivorium by replacing the tissue culture container and renewing the composition of the plant. This paper suggests a new indoor horticultural field, Vivorium, that can improve the current limitations of terrariums and make them more accessible to the general public. The introduction and popularization of new indoor gardening fields with the increase in single-person households and indoor activities in the Pandemic era can also improve psychological stability among people and in the society.

본 논문에서는 보육교사의 자아개념과 교사 효능감의 두 변인간의 관계와 함께 보육교사의 자아개념 수준에 따른 교사 효능감의 차이를 확인하는데 그 목적이 있다. 서울시와 수도권의 어린이집 에서 보육교사 127명을 대상으로 자아개념검사와 교사효능감 검사를 각각 실시하였다. 회수된 자료는 spss 20.0 프로그램을 활용하여 상관관계와 t-test 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보육교사의 자아개념은 인지적 자아, 정의적 자아, 사회적 자아, 신체적 자아 등 모든 하위요인에서 보육교사의 일반적 효능감, 개인적 효능감과 교사 효능감 전체 점수와 정적상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아개념전체 및 각 하위요인의 수준이 높은 집단이 경우는 낮은 집단보다 보육교사의 일반적 효능감, 개인적 효능감, 교사 효능감이 더 의미있게 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구결과에 따라 보육교사의 자아개념 수준에 따라 교사 효능감의 수준도 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었으며 교육현장에서 교사의 자아개념과 자기 효능감을 높이기 위한 방안이 필요함을 시사한다. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the self-concept of nursing teachers and teacher efficacy and to determine differences in the level of self-concept of nursing teachers. The research results were as follows. Firstly, the relationship between the self-concept of nursing teachers and teachers efficacy showed that there was a positive correlation between self-concept and general/individual teacher efficacy. Secondly, the observation results on the variations of the teacher efficacy depending on the level of the self-concept of nursing teachers noted the positive correlations and general-, individual teacher efficacy. Self-concept showed a higher correlation with individual teacher efficacy than general teacher efficacy. In summary, the research confirmed the definite correlation between the self-concept of teachers and teacher efficacy.

Bootstrap procedures may be used to reduce errors in many statistical problems. We discuss their use in constructing empirical goodness-of-fit confidence interval for a mean. Simulation study shows that the bootstrap calibration reduces coverage error of empirical goodness-of-fit confidence interval.
Comparison of blood glucose levels and allergic responses on treatment with six wheat cultivars

Allergies and indigestion problems have increased in our society with increasing wheat consumption. Among wheat proteins, omega-5 gliadins (x5-gliadins) and high molecular weight (HMW)-glutenin are known to be some of the major factors responsible for an allergic response and indigestion. Certain low molecular weight (LMW)-glutenin subunits are also able to promote local inflammation, and share common epitopes with x5-gliadins. It is known that different wheat cultivars have different combinations of HMW- and LMW-glutenins. We investigated the relationship between the composition of LMWglutenins and the degree of allergic response or indigestion. The extent of allergic reaction and indigestion characteristics in response to six different wheat cultivars were compared. Patterns of the change of blood glucose level with time, which were employed to measure the indigestion, were quite different, depending on the type of wheat cultivars. The extent of allergic response, as measured with the histamine and IgE levels, was also quite different, depending on the type of wheat cultivars. In addition, the extents were not correlated with patterns of LMW-glutenin DNA and HMW/ LMW glutenin protein of various wheat cultivars. The results from the present study suggest that some more other factors, together with factors studied above, need to be considered to better explain the physiological phenomena of variation in blood glucose level and allergic response.
