Purpose: This study conducted to identify the relationship of recovery room nurses knowledge, attitude and nursing performance about postoperative pain management for effective pain management. Methods: Data were collected from 113 recovery room nurses in D. Metropolitan City, using self-administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson s correlation coefficient with SPSS/WIN version 18.0. Results: The average scores of nurses knowledge on pain management, analgesics, classification of analgesics were 10.53/15, 7.10/10, 7.33/9, respectively. The average scores of nurses attitudes and performance were 11.23/12 and 2.92/4, respectively. Nurses knowledge on pain management was significantly correlated with nurses attitude and nurses’ knowledge on analgesics, but not with nursing performance on pain management. There was no correlation between nurses attitude and nursing performance on pain management. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to develop educational programs to improve knowledge and nursing performance on pain management for recovery room nurses. Further research should be done to identify key factors that improve nursing performance.
밀링가공시 구상흑연주철(FCD50)의 표면거칠기에 대한 연구

The purpose of this study is to find changes in surface roughness in various endmill cutting conditions for ductile cast iron (FCD50). Two materials were used as cut materials; one casted material without heat treatment, and the other annealing heat treated at 730℃ for the material. As a cutting tool 16mm tow flute endmills coated with TiN were used. The cutting speed, table feed speed, and cutting depth were varied respectively, and the surface roughness of the machined surface were measured by a contour measuring machine. Test results showed that the surface roughness did not vary much with the table speed, but it increased as the cutting speed increased, irrespective of the materials. The surface roughness increased also as the cutting depth increased. For the cutting condition where the amount of cut material per unit mill revolution kept constant, the surface roughness did not change much with cutting speed for small cutting depth, while for large cutting depth the surface roughness increased with increase in cutting speed. The surface roughness for the heat treated material showed better quality than that without heat treated especially when the cutting depth was large.

Thermal expension of the ball screw in semi-closed loop type CNC lathe directly introduced positioning errors along the travel axis In this paper the thermal displacement of the ball screw is estimated by using macro variables. The estimated displacementes of the ball screw are given to the NC in the form of pitch error compensation data into time interval.The thermal behaviour of the ball screw of the CNC lathe under the constant driving conditions was measured to examine the effectiveness of this compensation method. The results showed that thermal displacements of the ball screw were the positioning accuracy could be maintained to better than 6μm which using this compensation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of a mentoring program as a strategy for the retention of clinical nurses. Method: Research subjects were 20 mentors, 20 mentees and 22 clinical nurses for a control group of mentees. A mentoring program was developed by an expert committee and applied to the experimental group for six months. Data were collected at three and six months after the application of the program from September, 2008 to March, 2009. Data were analyzed using x²-test, t-test, Repeated Measures ANOVA, One-way ANOVA in SPSS/Win 15.0 Program. Results: Job satisfaction, organizational commitment, empowerment, and carrier commitment in the mentees of the experimental group were significantly higher than the nurses of the control group. Intention of resignation in mentees of the experimental group were significantly lower than the nurses of the control group. Also, there were significant interaction between the groups and the times of measurements in all variables. Conclusion: The mentoring program showed positive impact on the variables for maintenance of clinical nurses. Recommendation: Based on these findings, retention strategies using mentoring programs were recommended to reduce clinical nurses' resignation and improve the competency of clinical nurses that leads to the productivity of nursing organizations.
