        스프링클러와 배연설비의 통합작동이 수평통로의 연기제어에 미치는 영향

        수평통로의 천장 아래로 확산되는 연기의 냉각 및 차단을 위해 설치한 스프링클러와 배연설비의 통합작동이 유동장의 온도 및 연기밀도 분포에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 <TEX>$20.0m\;\times\;4.0m\;\times\;3.0m$</TEX> 크기의 공간에 대해 전산유체역학 프로그램(FDS 4.0.3)의 화재모의실험을 수행하였다. 연기의 냉각 및 차단효과는 스프링클러와 배연설비의 통합작동이 단독작동 보다 더 우수한 것으로 확인되었고, 천장에 설치되는 스프링클러헤드는 천장 길이방향으로의 모서리 효과에 의해 작동 헤드수는 2개로 제한되었으며, 적정 헤드수를 초과한 헤드설치는 오히려 연기냉각 및 차단 효과를 저하시키는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 2개의 헤드설치와 <TEX>$3.0m^3/s$</TEX>의 배연량인 경우 연기의 냉각 및 차단효과가 가장 좋았다. 헤드 작동 시 연기 하향끌림 현상이 발생하며, 화재크기의 증가로 연기발생 량이 배연 량 보다 큰 경우에는 연기 하향끌림 현상이 훨씬 더 크게 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. Fire scenarios in a space <TEX>$20.0m\;\times\;4.0m$</TEX> floor and 3.0m high were simulated by using computational fluid dynamics program (FDS 4.0.3) to investigate the effect of the combined operation of both sprinkler and vent systems, which are installed for cooling and blocking smoke which propagates beneath the ceiling of a horizontal corridor, on the temperature and smoke density of it. It was shown that the combined operation both sprinkler and vent systems was more effective than each operation for cooling and blocking smoke, the number of operating sprinklers was two because of corner effect of wall, and over-installed sprinklers deteriorated the effect of cooling and blocking smoke. This study showed that the case of two sprinklers and vent flow rate <TEX>$3.0m^3/s$</TEX> in fire scenario was the most effective for cooling and blocking smoke. It was confirmed that the smoke downdrag occurs in operating sprinkler system, and the more smoke droplets produced by increasing fire size, the greater smoke downdrag occurred.

      • 수직 평행채널의 벽면에 부착된 단일 모듈의 3차원 자연대류 열전달

        The present experimental study investigated the 3D natural convection heat transfer in a parallel vertical channel with protruding single module on the PCB. The materials used for the vertical PCB was epoxy-resin. Air was used as the cooling fluid. The flow fields in the channel was visualized by means of the smoke-method. Also, local temperature measurements were made along the vertical PCB. Results were obtained for channel ratios of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and ∞, Rayleigh numbers ranging from 4.94×10 exp (3) to 8.02×10 exp (6) and the module thickness ratios of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3. By analyzing the experimental results, the mean Nusslet number increased as module thickness ratios increased. Correlation relating the mean Nusselt number to the modified channel Rayleigh number is proposed.

        3-D natural convection heat transfer in a vertical parallel channel with protruding single module was investigated numerically. The particular interest was in the removal of thermal energy from the module by convective heat transfer. The commercial code based on the finite volume method, PHOENICS was used to obtain velocity vectors and temperatures. Heat transfer characteristic was promoted at the lower corner of the module and was decreased at the upper corner due to recirculation zone. For the range of 8.28×10³ < Ra^(*)_(c) < 3.48×10^(6), a useful correlation of mean Nusselt number was proposed as a function of modified channel Rayleigh number. In addition the temperature of the module surface was strong1y affected by channel ratio and with the increasing channel ratio, the effect was decreased.

      • 보텍스튜브에서 에너지 분리에 영향을 미치는 정체점에 대한 연구

        The vortex tube is a simple device for energy separation. Visualization of a streak lines on the wall of vortex tube are compared with Wall temperature profiles to understand for energy separation. The main flow is air and tubes are made of pyrex and stainless. The geometric conditions of vortex tube are vortex nozzle area ratio(Sn=0.155) and cold end orifice diameter ratio(δ=1.0). The visualized experimental results show that there is an apparent sudden changing position of wall streak lines, which may indicate the stagnation position of vortex flow. The visualized stagnation position approach to the vortex generator by increasing of cold flow ratio and input pressure; those phenomena are consistent with wall temperature profiles and other previous experimental results.

        채널의 경사각이 전자부품의 열적 안정성에 미치는 영향

        An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effects of inclined angles of channel on thermal stability of electronic components. In this study, it is focused on the natural convection heat transfer from an inclined parallel channel with discrete protruding heat sources. The material used for the inclined parallel channel was epoxy-resin, while air as the cooling fluid. Heat transfer phenomena for inclined angles of φ=15˚, 30˚, 45˚, 60˚and for the range of 9.52 × 10^5<Ra<6.25 × 10^6 were analyzed. The thermal fields in the channel were visualized by Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Also, local temperatures were measured by thermocouples along the channel wall and heat sources surface. As a result, for the range of 4.29 × 10^5<Ra_c^*<6.04 × 10^6, a useful correlation of mean Nusselt number was proposed as a function of modified channel Rayleigh number.
