        저온 플라즈마 처리가 PET직물의 세척성에 미치는 영향

        Low temperature plasma treatment with different treatment times (0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 minute) was used to study the detergency of PET fabrics. Plasma treated and untreated fabrics were soiled with three different soils of carbon black mixed with oily soils, hemoglobin and triolein, and washed by using Terg-O-Tometer at 4$0^{\circ}C$ with 40 rpm. In order to assess degree of soil removal of the three soils, following analysis was carried out to each soils on the fabrics : surface reflectance was measured to evaluate the carbon black mixed oily soil, copper-Folin method was used to quantify the amount of remaining hemoglobin, and radiotracer method was applied to measure the triolein. The deposition behavior of carbon black on plasma treated/untreated PET fabrics has been also investigated in the presence of anionic (AS, AOS) or nonionic (AE) surfactant.

        Research topics and trends of endangered species using text mining in Korea

        Continuous development due to human activities has extinctionized many floral and faunal species onearth and seriously threatened the ecosystem. Many countries are working hard to protect and restoreendangered species by conducting a range of studies. This study conducted text mining and sentimentanalysis based on the results of the previous studies on endangered species to present practical protectionand conservation methods through identifying the research trend of endangered species in SouthKorea. This study found 451 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts. One hundred eight-seven species werestudied, and the number of publications exponentially increased from the 1980s to the 2010s. The largestnumber of studies was conducted in the field of ecology (203 publications), and majority of studiesexamined plants (223 publications). “Taxa”, “plant”, “study”, and “Korea” appeared the most regardless ofweighting factors. It was found that words associated with plant identification, habitat area, and environmentalcharacteristics, those affecting the survival of species and those related to conservation policiesformed a network relationship. The results of this study showed that researchers used positivewords more than negative words from the 1990s to the 2010s, but the use of positive words decreasedover time. The results implied that the restoration of endangered species was hard socially and scientifically. Understanding the research trend on endangered species in South Korea will be helpful indeveloping and proposing important directions for endangered species restoration research planned atthe national level. We hope that various efforts are given to improve endangered species restorationresearch techniques and raise social awareness for producing practical achievements.

      • 한국 중서부 논 습지에 서식하는 무미 양서류의 군집 특성에 관한 연구

        최근 토지이용변경과 같은 인간의 활동으로 인해 자연습지를 서식지로 이용하는 생물의 피해가 커지고 있으며, 이에 대한 대체서식지로 논 습지가 주목받고 있다. 양서류는 논 습지에 서식하고 있는 대표적인 분 류군 중 하나로, 생태계를 구성하는 먹이사슬의 중간자적 위치에 있어 생태계를 유지하는 연결 고리 역할을 담당한다. 본 연구에서는 한반도 중서부 논 습지에 서식하고 있는 무미 양서류 종들의 서식 환경에 따른 군집 특성을 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 2016년과 2017년 동안 3월부터 10월까지, 40개의 논 습지에 출현하는 무미 양서류의 종에 따른 개체수의 분포와 풍부도를 학인하여 자기조직화지도 (self-organizing map)를 통해 양서류 군집을 유사한 패턴끼리 그룹화하였다. 그룹 간의 환경요인 특성을 확인하기 위해 경관, 대기, 물리, 수 환경정보와의 관계성을 랜덤포래스트 분석을 통해 파악하였고, 지표종 분석을 통해 주요 지표종도 확인하였다. 그 결과, 중서부 논 습지에 서식하고 있는 무미 양서류 군집은 4개 의 클러스터로 분류할 수 있었고 각 클러스터는 종간 번식 시기와 생태적 서식 습성을 잘 반영하였다. 뿐 만 아니라, 각 클러스터별 지표종과 환경요인과의 관계가 적절히 반영되었다. 클러스터는 계절에 따라 4개 로 분류되었으며, 여름철을 나타낸 클러스터 1과 4에서 종수와 종 다양도, 풍부도가 높게 나타났다. 두 개 의 클러스터에 속한 종들은 모두 산림과 논의 면적과 같은 경관적 서식공간이 중요한 요인으로 확인되었다. 클러스터 1의 지표종 4종은 고도가 높고, 산림의 면적이 넓은 공간을 선호하고 있었지만, 클러스터 4의 지 표종 2종은 고도가 낮고, 논 습지의 면적이 넓은 공간을 선호하고 있었다. 특히, 클러스터 4에 속한 금개구 리와 수원청개구리 2종은 모두 멸종위기종으로 확인되었다. 본 조사지역인 한국 중서부 논 습지는 멸종위 기 양서류를 포함한 다양한 양서류들이 밀집한 지역으로 본 연구결과를 통해 밝혀진 양서류군집의 군집 패 턴 특성과 환경요인과의 관계성은 양서류 보호와 관리에 중요한 정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

        Analysis of avian research trends related to rice fields in South Korea using text mining

        Rice fields are wetland ecosystems serving as crucial habitats for various organisms. Birds use these ecosystems as breeding, stopover, and wintering sites. Studies on birds that use rice fields have been continuously conducted worldwide and have recently gained interest in South Korea. This study aimed to determine the research trends and characteristics of avian research related to rice fields in South Korea using the text mining technique. Among the 118 peer-reviewed papers, the number of published papers per decade increased steadily from the 1990s to the 2010s, with an increasing trend in the direct releꠓvance to rice fields. The number of papers was the highest for the bird orders Ciconiiformes and Gruiꠓformes, followed by Anseriformes and Charadriiformes. Additionally, the number of papers was the highest in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheongnam-do, followed by Gangwon-do and Jeollabuk-do. Further, the text mining results showed that the most frequently used words were “rice,” “habitat,” and “species,” followed by “wintering,” “feeding,” and “population.” Thus, based on the observed trends of avian research in rice fields in South Korea, it will be helpful for suggesting the direction of birds studies in rice fields as an important habitat at the future researcher or national level.

        Comparison of Breeding Area Characteristics between Two Frogs Species Breeding at Rice Fields of Mid-west region of the South Korea

        Rice field is an important habitat of amphibians, and has attracted increasing attention owing to the loss of natural wetlands. This study evaluated the breeding characteristics of Korean brown frogs (Rana coreana) and Korean large brown frogs (Rana uenoi) inhabiting the rice fields of the Midwest region of South Korea between March and April in 2016 and 2017. The breeding preference of the two species was observed at 40 sites in this region, and the landscape, atmospheric, physical, and water environmental factors of these sites were evaluated. The results revealed that among the 40 investigated sites, the breeding of both species was observed at 11 sites, and the eggs of both species were observed at only 5 sites. There was a negative correlation between the number of eggs of R. coreana and that of R. uenoi at the five sites. In addition, the two species exhibited significantly different altitude preferences; however, there was no significant difference in most of the environmental factors of the breeding sites of both species. The results confirmed that the breeding of R. coreana occurred at a lower altitude than that of R. uenoi.

        화학살충제의 사 용이 한 국 중서부지역 논습지에 도래하는 수조류 분포에 미치는 영향

        Waterbirds using rice fields has increased due to a decline of natural wetlands. The rice field is an essential habitat to supports the waterbird population. Although use of rice field by waterbirds has been widely documented, little information is available on distribution patterns of waterbirds under the pesticide use in rice fields. The current study conducted to understand the relationship between habitat use by waterbirds and pesticide applicatioins in rice fields. We monitored the distribution of waterbirds at Daeho reclaimed area in July 2013 to June 2014 and September 2014 to August 2015. As a results, three heron species (Black-crowned Night Heron Nycticorax nycticorax, Eastern Cattle Egret Bubulcus coromandus and Intermediate Egret Egretta intermedia) are more sensitive to pesticides use than other waterbird species in rice fields. Future studies are necessary to explore the relationship between bird’s distribution and management practices including pesticide use at different spatiotemporal scales.

      • 한국 중서부 논 습지에 서식하는 도롱뇽(Hynobius leechii)의 번식지 특성

        논 습지는 자연 습지를 대체할 수 있는 야생동물들의 주요 서식공간으로 세계적으로 논 습지의 보전 및 관리 를 위한 다양한 생태적 연구들이 수행되고 있다. 양서류 는 논 습지를 번식공간으로 이용하는 대표적인 분류군 중 하나로 서식지 파괴와 수질 오염으로 개체수가 급감 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국 중서부 논 습지에 서식 하는 도롱뇽의 번식지 환경특성을 파악하고, 한국 중서 부 논 습지가 번식지로 적합한지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 2016년부터 2017년까지 총 40개의 논을 2개월간(3월-4 월) 도룡뇽의 번식 유무와 경관, 대기, 물리, 수 환경요 인을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 중서부 논 습지에서 도롱뇽 의 번식이 확인된 지점은 총 40개 중 8개로, 도롱뇽의 번식지는 비번식지 보다 경관적으로 논의 면적이 좁고 산림의 면적이 넓으며, 해안과의 거리가 멀고, 고도가 높은 지역으로 나타났고, 수 환경적으로 EC와 TDS, NaCl이 낮은 지역으로 확인되었다. 도롱뇽의 번식지 선 택에 가장 큰 영향을 끼친 주요 환경요인은 모두 경관 요인으로 파악되었다. 종합적으로 한국 중서부의 산림 주변에 위치한 논 습지는 도롱뇽들의 번식지로써 적합 한 환경을 갖추고 있었으며, 수 환경 또한 양서류의 서 식 권장 기준 범위에 적합했다. 하지만, 도롱뇽이 번식 하지 않는 해안가 주변의 평지에 위치한 논 습지에서는 EC, TDS가 매우 높게 확인되어 양서류의 서식에 부정 적인 영향을 끼칠 것으로 예상된다. Rice fields are major habitats of wildlife and they can substitute natural wetlands. Therefore, various ecological studies have been conducted for the conservation and management of rice fields worldwide. Amphibians are one of the representative taxonomic groups using rice fields as their breeding sites and their populations are rapidly decreasing due to habitat destruction and water pollution. This study examined the environmental characteristics of Wonsan salamander(Hynobius leechii)’s breeding sites in rice fields in the mid-western region of South Korea and evaluated if they were suitable breeding sites for Wonsan salamanders. The results of this study showed that Wonsan salamander used eight sites out of the surveyed 40 rice field sites in the mid-western region of South Korea for their breeding. To achieve study objectives, this study evaluated the breeding of Wonsan salamanders, landscape factors, atmospheric factors, physical factors, and aquatic factors from March to April in 2016 and 2017. The Wonsan salamander’s breeding sites had smaller rice field areas and larger forest areas, were farther from the coast, and were located at higher altitude compare to Wonsan salamander’s nonbreeding sites. These breeding sites also had low EC, TDS, and NaCl. It was found that all environmental factors affecting the breeding site selection greatly were landscape factors. In conclusion, rice fields near forests in the mid-western region of South Korea had an environment suitable for Wonsan salamander breeding and their aquatic environment also met the recommended conditions for amphibian species’ breeding. However, Wonsan salamanders didn’t breed in rice fields on plains located near the coast and the EC and TDS of them were high, which could adversely affect the inhabitation of amphibian species.

        한국 중서부 지역의 논을 이용하는 조류상

        쌀은 과거부터 전 세계적으로 재배되는 가장 중요한 작물이며, 벼가 재배되는 논은 다양한 조류의 서식지로서도 중요한 기능을 가진다. 한국은 전체적으로 논 면적이 넓게 분포하여 다양한 조류가 이용하는 것으로 알려져 있지만, 실제 논 이용 조류상에 관한 정보가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 중서부 지역의 논에서 관찰된 조류상의 현황을 정리하여 그 특성을 파악하고자 한다. 2013년부터 2018년까지 중서부 지역의 61개 지점의 논에서 휴식 및 취식 중인 조류를 대상으로 조사하였으며, 총 44과 144종의 조류가 논을 이용하였다. 그 중 오리과가 가장 많았으며(14%), 그 다음으로 도요과, 백로과, 수리과, 멧새과, 할미새과, 까마귀과, 되새과 등의 순이었다. 논 이용 조류 144종 중 도래시기에 따른 논 이용 조류는 벼 재배기에 33%, 비재배기에 40%, 재배기와 비재배기 모두 관찰된 종은 27%이었다. 또한 관찰된 조류 중 멸종위기종은 약 34.9%이며, 천연기념물 조류는 약 41.3%이었다. 본 연구를 통해 한국 중서부 지역 논에 도래하는 조류 군집의 정보 및 특성을 파악하여 서식지로서의 기능을 확인하였으며, 향후 다양한 지역을 대상으로 논 이용 조류 현황 조사가 필요하고, 나아가 논의 생태적 특성과 구조를 파악할 필요가 있다. Rice is arguably the most important crop in terms of past effects on global land use and rice fields are one of the most important habitats for various bird species. Although South Korea is know to have a wide range of rice fields and used by various bird species, the actual information on avifauna using rice fileds is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the current status of the avifauna observed in rice fields in the mid-western region of South Korea is summarized and its characteristics are to be grasped. From 2013 to 2018, the survey was conducted on birds resting and feeding in 61 survey sites in the mid-western region, and a total of 44 families and 144 species of birds used the rice fields. Anatidae was the best represented family, followed by Scolopacidae, Ardeidae, Accipitridae, Emberizidae, Motacillidae, Corvidae, Fringillidae. Among the 144 species of birds used in rice fields, birds used in rice fields according to season were 33% during growing season, 40% during non-growing season, and 27% in all season. In addition, about 34.9% of the birds observed were endangered species, and about 41.3% were natural monuments. In this study, information and characteristics of bird communities in the rice fields in the mid-western region of South Korea were identified and the function as a habitat was confirmed. It is necessary to survey the current status of birds using rice fields in various areas and study the ecological charateristics of rice fields.

        우리나라 중서부지역 논 습지에 서식하는 무미 양서류의 서식처 특성 - 대호간척농지의 영농방법 중심으로 -

        Paddy wetlands are a critical habitat for a variety of wild animals, and their rapid development and environmental changes pose a threat to the conservation of agrobiodiversity. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the habitat characteristics of anuran inhabiting paddy wetlands and identify major environmental variables affecting their distributions. The study was conducted in the Daeho reclaimed area in Dangjin, from March to October 2018. In this study, we found three anuran species (Pelophylax nigromaculatus, Hyla japonica and Pelophylax chosenicus). The environmental factors affecting the three species were identified as air temperature, humidity, water-depth, and micro-habitats. H. japonica were affected by water temperature, and P. chosenicus were affected by rice height and types of farming practices. All the three species richness was correlated with air temperature, humidity, and water-depth positively, and the three species used rice transplanted paddy fields the most. It was also found that paddy is the most preferred of the micro-habitats during the breeding season, so the survey area is considered to be used as the major breeding sites for the three species. P. chosenicus were more observed on environmental-friendly paddy fields than conventional paddy fields, which appears to be differences in their surroundings environment caused by predators and weeding. It will be needed to identify their relationship with predators, their preferred food resources and the richness and diversity of wild vegetation around paddy wetlands.
