시멘트 킬른 더스트를 사용한 콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 연구

This paper is intended to investigate the properties of fresh and hardened concrete, in which cement and fine aggregate are replaced with cement kiln dust(CKD), for effective using method of CKD, a by-product produced in the process of making cement. According to the results, as the replacing ratio of CKD increases, slump and air content of concrete decreases remarkably due to an increase of viscosity and filling of the pores respectively. As the properties of setting, setting time are shortened with an increase of the replacing ratio of CKD. Compressive strength increases due to the filling effect of the pores in comparison with plain concrete, and compressive strength ratio is high at early age.

In this paper, estimation of strength development of concrete incorporating cement kiln dust(CKD) is discussed using logistic model under various curing temperature and W/B. Compressive strength enhanced with an increase in maturity. Before reaching 840˚D·D of maturity, similar level of strength development is obtained regardless of CKD presence. Use of CKD has a beneficial effect on strength development of concrete at low curing temperature. Logistic model has a good agreement between measured strength and calculated strength. CKD concrete has slightly lower strength than plain concrete at same maturity. Resultant constant for estimating strength development of plain concrete calculated about 0.965 and for CKD concrete about 0.938. From the scope of the paper, effective strength control method and estimation model related to determine form removal time and protection period against frost damage at early age is provided.

In this paper, setting and strength development of cement mortar are discussed under various mineral admixture content and curing temperature. Setting time exhibited an increasing tendency with an increase in curing temperature. Under low curing temperature, use of CKD resulted in a reduction in setting retarding, whereas FA and BS retarded the setting time of cement mortar. For compressive strength, high curing temperature and age leaded to an increase in compressive strength of concrete. Under low curing temperature, the use of CKD resulted in an enhancement of compressive strength at early stage, and exhibited a similar level of compressive strength with plain concrete. For this reason, use of CKD in cold weather concreting has positive effect on strength development at low curing temperature under early age.

The objective the paper is to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of concrete incorporating mineral admixtures. For setting properties, at low curing temperature, setting time of concrete with mineral admixture is delayed compared with that of plain concrete. But, use of cement kiln dust(CKD) has a desirable effect on reducing setting retard under low curing temperature. For compressive strength, concrete with FA and BS have low strength at early stage compared with that of plain concrete under low curing temperature. However, the use of CKD resulted in an enhancement of compressive strength at early stage under low curing temperature, and exhibited a similar level of compressive strength with plain concrete. For this reason, use of CKD in cold weather concreting has positive effect on strength development at low curing temperature under early age.

In this study, the properties of fresh and hardened concrete, and durability are discussed when cement kiln dust is replaced for cement and fine aggregate. According to the results, slump and air content of concrete, in which CKD is used, decreases remarkably due to an increase of viscosity and filling of the pores. Compressive strength increases due to filling of the pores and reduction of air content in comparison with plain concrete. In the case of replacement of CKD for fine aggregate, drying shrinkage and neutralizing depth of concrete show the similar tendency to plain concrete, but in the case of replacement of CKD for cement, they increase in comparison with plain concrete. When CKD is used in concrete, relative dynamic elastic modulus diminishes in all case due to reduction of air content.
