        Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss With Minimal Hearing Impairment

        Objectives. The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of patients who did not match the audiometric criteria of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) but complained of acute hearing loss. Methods. By thorough medical chart reviews, historical cohort study was performed with consecutive data of 589 patients complaining of acute unilateral sensorineural hearing loss without identifiable causes between 2005 and 2013. Those patients demonstrating a hearing loss of at least 30 dB at three consecutive frequencies based on pure tone audiometry were classified as group I; the others were classified as group II. Patients’ characteristics, final hearing, and hearing improvement rate (HIR) between the two groups were compared. Results. Group II exhibited distinctive characteristics, including an early age of onset of the hearing loss (P<0.01), an absence of accompanying diabetes (P<0.01) and hypertension (P<0.01), and better unaffected hearing and final hearing compared with group I (P<0.001). However, the HIR of the patients in the two groups was not significantly different (P>0.05). Conclusion. Patients who did not meet the audiological criteria of SSNHL exhibited distinctive characteristics compared to SSNHL patients.

        방한 중국 단체여행객 불평행동에 관한 질적 연구

        Chinese package tourists visiting Korea chose passive complaining behaviors even though their satisfaction level was very low, this study analyzed its background. The whole process of the study was based on the qualitative research methodology. Though this study started from understanding Chinese tourists' complaints and current issues of tour packages for Chinese tourists in their viewpoints, the analytical focus was moved to their complaining behaviors. The qualitative data was collected through the interview with Chinese tourists having damages or complaints in the process of visiting Korea. From January 2015 to September 2015, total two times of preliminary and main researches were performed. The conclusion was obtained by process that continuously seek for the meaning through repeating the process of summarizing/interpreting the qualitative data. This study intensively analyzed the problems of tour products targeting Chinese tourists visiting Korea and their coping measures/backgrounds based on the qualitative research method. It would be possible to understand the tourism phenomenons in the cultural aspect only when having continuous efforts to seek for the relations between traditional cultures and tourists' behaviors including Chinese tourists in the multi-cultural aspect in the future.

        Unidentified Bright Objects on Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging Affect Vestibular Neuritis

        Objectives. The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in clinical manifestations of in two groups of vestibular neuritis (VN) patients with or without unidentified bright objects (UBOs). Methods. A prospective, observational study with 46 patients diagnosed with VN between May 2013 and November 2013 was executed. A caloric test, a cervical vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials (cVEMPs) test, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), spontaneous nystagmus test, head impulse test, and head-shaking nystagmus test were performed. Results. Of the patients, 56.5% (n=26) were classified as UBO-positive by MRI. These showed lower caloric weakness and more prominent cVEMP asymmetry compared with the UBO-negative group (P<0.05). Total VN (TVN) was the most common in the UBO-positive group (45.0%), followed by superior VN (SVN, 30.0%), and inferior VN (IVN, 25.0%). However, in the UBO-negative group, SVN (75.0%) was the most common, followed by TVN and IVN (P<0.05). The recovery rate was not influenced by UBOs (P>0.05). Conclusion. UBOs on T2-weighted or fluid attenuated inversion recovery MRI may affect the patterns of the vestibular nerve in patients with VN.

        기업의 사회적 책임이 고용주브랜드 평가에 미치는 영향 : 한·중 비교연구

        본 연구는 한국과 중국의 잠재적 종업원을 대상으로 기업의 사회적 책임이 고용주브랜드의 평가에 미치는 영향력을 조사하였다. 문헌고찰에 근거하여 경제적, 법적, 윤리적, 이타적 책임을 독립변수로 사용하여 이들 변수가 고용주브랜드의 평가와 매력도, 그리고 취업의향에 미치는 영향력에 관해 조사하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, 기업의 사회적 책임 변수들은 고용주브랜드 평가에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데 유의도의 크기는 이타적 책임, 윤리적 책임, 법적 책임, 경제적 책임 순서였다. 이 결과는 기업이 경쟁력을 높이고 재능이 많은 신규종업원을 확보하는데 있어서 이타적이고 윤리적 책임을 수행하는 것의 중요성에 대해 시사하고 있다. 또한 본 연구는 고용주브랜드에 대한 긍정적 평가가 고용주 브랜드의 매력도 뿐만 아니라 해당기업의 취업의향에도 유의한 영향력을 행사한다는 사실을 발견하였다. 관련 결과들은 CSR활동과 효과적인 고용주 브랜딩전략간의 관계에 대한 유용한 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제공하여 준다. This study attempts to analyze the impact of corporate social responsibilities on the evaluation of employer brand by potential employees in China and South Korea. Based on literature review, economic, legal, ethical, philanthropic responsibilities were employed as independent variables influencing on the evaluation of employer brand, its overall attractiveness and intention to work for the employer firm. The results show that all constructs of corporate social responsibility have significant influences on the evaluation of employer brand. The impact of CSR on the evaluation of employer brand appears to be philanthropic, ethical, legal, economic responsibilities in order of importance. The study also found that the evaluation of employer brand has a significant influence on both overall attractiveness of a firm and intention to work. Finally, the overall attractiveness of a firminfluenced the respondent's intention towork.
