As a trend of lightening automobiles and electronic products, several studies are currently underway to replace parts of metals with resins. In particular, heterojunctions between metals and resins are now under the spotlight. This study aims to evaluate the variation in bonding strength with process conditions when the polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) polymer is bonded to a specimen of the lightweight 6061 aluminum alloy (AL6061). Conditions of the bonding surface of the AL6061 specimen, the temperature of the injection mold, and the content of the glass fiber were considered to be process variables. Bonded specimens were manufactured for different values of these variables. Bonding strength tests were then performed on these specimens and variations were analyzed in their characteristics corresponding to those of the process conditions. Fractures in these specimens were assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to assess the fracture surface. This was then used to analyze the fracture shape and determine whether anodizing the specimen led to the development of cracks on the joint surface. Results of the above test indicated that while the surface condition of the specimen and the temperature of the injection mold significantly influenced the strength of bonding, the content of the glass fiber did not.

This study examined the treatment characteristics of hard-to-degrade pollutants such as TCE which are found in organic solvent and cleaning wastewater by nZVI that have excellent oxidation and reduction characteristics. In addition, this study tried to find out the degradation characteristics of TCE by Fenton-like process, in which H2O2 is dosed additionally. In this study, different ratios of nZVI and H2O2, such as 1.0 mM : 0.5 mM, 1.0 mM : 1.0 mM, and 1.0 mM : 2.0 mM were used. When 1.0 mM of nZVI was dosed with 1.0 mM of H2O2, the removal efficiency of TOC was the highest and the first order rate constant was also the highest. When 1mM of nZVI was dosed with 0.5 mM of H2O2, the first order rate constant and removal efficiency were the lowest. The size of first order rate constant and removal efficiency was in the order of nZVI 1.0 mM : H2O2 1.0 mM > nZVI 1.0 mM : H2O2 2.0 mM > nZVI 1.0 mM : H2O2 0.5 mM > H2O2 1.0 mM > nZVI 1.0 mM. It is estimated that when 1.0 mM of nZVI is dosed with 1.0 mM of H2O2, Fe2+ ion generated by nZVI and H2O2 react in the stoichiometric molar ratio of 1:1, thus the first order rate constant and removal efficiency are the highest. And when 1.0 mM of nZVI is dosed with 2.0 mM of H2O2, excessive H2O2 work as a scavenger of OH radicals and excessive H2O2 reduce Fe3+ into Fe2+. As for the removal efficiency of TOC in TCE by simultaneous dose and sequential dose of nZVI and H2O2, sequential dose showed higher first order reaction rate and removal efficiency than simultaneous dose. It is estimated that when nZVI is dosed 30 minutes in advance, pre-treatment occurs and nanoscale Fe0 is oxidized to Fe2+ and TCE is pre-reduced and becomes easier to degrade. When H2O2 is dosed at this time, OH radicals are generated and degrade TCE actively.

Mixing is a very important unit in water treatment process. A mechanical stirring method is generally used for mixing, but recently, the use of pressurized water mixing method (pump diffusion flash mixer) has gained interest because it is more advantageous in terms of mixing time, noise, energy consumption, and maintenance. The following conclusions were obtained from the study of pressurized water mixing method by Computational Fluid Dynamics. Firstly, the mixing degree in the pipe increased as the density of water increased. Secondly, even if the relative velocity between flow rate in the pipe and the pressurized water was constant, the mixing degree decreased as the flow velocity in the pipe increased. Thirdly, the stronger the injection energy the higher the mixing degree. It was also found that the mixing degree was greatly affected by the injection velocity as compared to the injection flow amount. Finally, the required energy to achieve 95% mixing degree at the distance of 10 times diameter in big pipes of 500 mm to 3000 mm was 0.3 to 4.5 kJ. The result of this study could be used in the process design of injection with water purification chemicals, such as, ozone, chlorine, and coagulant.

Pressure sore(Decubitus ulcer) is an area of ulceration and necrosis of the skin and underlying tissues occurring over the body prominence such as the sacrum, greater trochanter, scapula, lateral malleolus, thoracic spine and heels after prolonged or often repeated pressure. These days incidence of pressure sore have been increased because of the many population of the old, traffic accidents and cerebral vascular disease. But the treatment was not confirmly established. As for treatment, we used Talcum powder for 10 days in case 1 and 6 days in case 2. The patients were improved within 14 days after treatment in case 1 and 10 days in case 2.

Guillain-Barre syndrome, or acute inflammatory demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy, is frequently accompanied by cardiac and autonomic dysfunction. We report a patient who had tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, hypertension, pronounced blood pressure fluctuations, abnormal sweating, constipation and urinary frequency as well as qudriparesis. We thought that the GBS was incurred by Damp-Heat, used Heat-Clearing and Dampness-Transforming decoction(Chongjoo-tang) in the early stage. In the later stage, fortifying the Spleen and Boosting Qi plus Supplementing the Kidney decoction(Palmultang+chongawon) was used to remove low back pain and boost recovery. The patient reached the nadir 14 days after onset. He became bed-bound and autonomic dysfunction was very severe. From 3rd week, abnormalities of autonomic function and paresis impoved gradually and he could walk above 5m without walker or equivalent support at the 5th week after onset.
