Effects of the oscillating incoming flow on vortex shedding and lock-on behind a square cylinder are investigated using numerical simulations at a Reynolds number of 100. Vortex shedding occurred at low forcing frequencies of the incoming flow similar to the natural vortex shedding. As the forcing frequency further increases, the shedding frequency decreases to the half of the forcing freqnency. For a sufficiently large frequency, vortex shedding returns to the natural vortex shedding irrespective of the forcing amplitude. Also, the lock-on region becomes wider with higher forcing amplitudes. The phase diagram between the drag and lift shows a simple periodic behavior in the lock-on region, while a complicated periodic phase relation is observed when there is no lock-on.

Polycythemia vera is a hematopoietic stem cell disease, characterized by sustained and excessive proliferation of erythrocytic, granurocytic and megakaryocytic cells in the bone marrow resulting in pancytosis in peripheral blood. There have been a few reports of glomerulonephritis with polycythemia vera, most of which were IgA nephropathy. We report a case of a polycythemia vera associated with proteinuria. We confirmed the polycythemia vera according to World Health Organization criteria. Renal pathology showed IgA nephropathy and minimal change disease. Periodic phlebotomy was done and hydroxyurea was administered without specific managements for renal disease. After 3-month treatment, hemoglobin level decreased and proteinurea disappeared.

Various sizes and types of advanced small and medium sized nuclear reactors are currently nuder development worldwide. The SMART-P, which is an integral pressurized water reactor is one of those advanced types of small sized nuclear reactor. a Feedwater pipe break accident is one of the most important accidents in the safety of the SMART-P plant. Decreased feedwater flow rate to the steam generators causes a decrease in the heat extraction from the reactor coolant system, resulting in a increase of the primary coolant temperature and pressure Performed sensitivity analysis to find parameters affecting seriously in SMART-P's feedwater pipe break accident. According to these sensitivity analysis results, an initial pressurizer pressure, a moderator reactivity coefficient, a power level and a break size are major parameters for the maximum pressure of the reactor coolant system point of view. the pressure in the reactor coolant system and the secondary system for all the cases investigated, remains below 18.7㎫ which is a safety criteria for SMART-P.
