빵에 국화를 첨가할 수 있는지에 대한 기초연구를 수행하기 위해 국화분말을 각각 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% 첨가한 식빵을 제조하여 제빵의 과정뿐만 아니라 저장기간에 따른 품질변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과, 국화의 첨가에 따라 제빵시간이 총 9~23분 더 길어진 반면 mixing time은 1~2분 더 짧아졌다. 또 국화를 첨가할수록 무첨가 시료에 비해 구운 후 빵의 무게는 증가한 반면 비용적은 감소하였다. 경도는 국화의 첨가량에 따라 증가하였으며 빵의 고형물함량에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 국화분말을 첨가한 빵의 pH는 무첨가 시료에 비해 약 0.33 정도 낮아졌으며 저장중의 변화는 거의 관찰되지 않았다. 또 색도를 측정한 결과 국화의 첨가량이 증가할수록 명도(L값)는 낮게 나타났으며, 적색도(a값)와 황색도(b값)는 높게 나타났다. 관능평가 결과 향과 경도, 그리고 촉촉한 정도는 모든 실험군에서 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 종합적인 기호도의 경우 무첨가 시료가 가장 우수한 값을 나타냈으며 국화분말의 첨가량이 많을수록 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 또 저장기간에 따라 모든 실험군의 종합적인 기호도는 감소하였는데 특히 국화분말의 첨가량이 적을수록 종합적인 기호도의 감소폭은 크게 나타났다. 따라서 빵에 국화를 첨가하는 것은 빵의 풍미유지에 도움을 주는 것으로 판단된다. 0%, 3%, 5%, and 7% chrysanthemum powder was added to plain bread to investigate its effect on the quality and preservation of bread. The properties of dough, physical changes, and sensory evaluation of plain bread with chrysanthemum powder added were analyzed during storage at room temperature. Volumes of dough and bread were decreased by addition of chrysanthemum powder. Also, the pH and Hunter L (lightness) in bread with chrysanthemum powder were lower than those of the control bread, while its redness, yellowness, and hardness were higher. In sensory evaluation, when more than 5% chrysanthemum was added to bread, aftertaste and overall acceptability were rapidly decreased. In contrast, the addition of chrysanthemum minimized the drop of flavor caused by storage time. In conclusion, chrysanthemum powder added to plain bread improved flavor, which declines with storage time.

양파즙을 추출하여 수분과 설탕비를 맞추어 수분함량대비 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, 15%를 첨가하여 식빵을 제조하였다. 식빵의 무게, 부피 및 비용적은 양파즙 첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하였고, 굽기손실율은 양파즙 첨가량이 증가할수록 낮아졌다. 색도를 측정한 결과 양파즙 첨가량이 증가할수록 백색도(L값)는 낮게 나타났으며, 적색도(a값)와 황색도(b값)는 양파즙 첨가량이 많을수록 높게 나타났다. 양파즙 첨가 식빵의 pH 결과는 저장 기간 동안 감소하였으며, 무첨가군이 가장 높게 나타났고 양파즙 첨가 식빵이 낮게 나타났다. 경도를 측정한 결과 양파즙을 첨가할수록 낮았으며 무첨가군이 높게 나타났다. 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 경도는 증가하였으며 무첨가군이 양파즙 첨가군에 비해 급격하게 증가하였다. 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 수분활성도는 감소하였으나 양파즙 첨가식빵이 무첨가군에 비해 높았으며 호기성균과 곰팡이균의 변화 또한 저장기간이 증가할수록 균수는 증가하였다. 관능평가 결과 맛, 향, 표면상태, 식감, 종합적인 기호도에서 무첨가군과 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 3% 첨가군이 가장 높게 평가되었다. 관능결과로부터 양파즙 3~5%를 첨가하는 것이 최적의 범위로 판단되었고 양파즙을 첨가함으로 인해 건강, 기호성 식품일 뿐만 아니라 제품의 저장기간도 연장시켜주는 것으로 확인되었다. The characteristics and preservation of plain bread with 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15% of onion juice added were investigated during storage at room temperature. The weight, volume and specific volume of bread with added onion juice increased, compared to those of the control bread. The color value of bread when onion juice was added had lower values of lightness and higher values of redness and yellowness than those of the control bread. The pH was lower in the bread during storage, and it decreased with an increase of onion juice. Hardness was increased and water activity was decreased in the bread during storage. With an increment of onion juice, hardness was the lowest but water activity was the highest. The addition of onion juice also inhibited the growth of aerobic bacteria and mold on bread. Taste, flavor, surface, texture and overall acceptability by sensory evaluation were the best when 3% of onion juice was added, but there were no significant differences between it and 0% bread. The results imply that addition of onion juice into plain bread will create a healthy and functional bread with an extended shelf-life.

High-risk gestational choriocarcinoma in patients who have failed primary chemotherapy is known to have a very poor prognosis. About 25% of high-risk metastatic choriocarcinoma become refractory to EMACO (etoposide, methotrexate, actinomycin D, cyclophosphamide and vincristine) and fail to achieve a complete remission. Currently, there is no standard salvage chemotherapeutic regimen for EMACO refractory choriocarcinoma. Paclitaxel, a taxane analog extracted from the bark of the western yew, has shown antitumor activity in a variety of cancers. However, there has been few case reports that described the effectiveness of paclitaxel to choriocarcinoma. We describe a 41-year old woman with refractory choriocarcinoma, who demonstrated dramatic response to paclitaxel treatment with a brief review of literature.
한국인 영아에서 분리된 G1 로타바이러스의 VP7 단백 유전자 염기서열 및 발현

To determine the sequence and expression of the VP7 gene of Korean isolates (CAU-9), viral RNA was purified and used for cDNA amplification by RT-PCR. The VP7 cDNA was cloned, sequenced, and expressed using baculovirus expression system. The result showed that the sequence homologies CAU-9 compared with foreign isolated strains Wa, 417, TMC-II, 95B and SA11 were ranged from 74.0% to 95.1% of nucleotide sequence and 35% to 43% of amino acid sequence, respectively. High homology of CAU-9 was observed in Japanease isolates 417 (nucleotide sequence homology was 95.1% and amino acid sequence homology was 43%). To express VP7 gene, the VP7 cDNA was cloned into pCR-Bac vector and inserted into the genome of baculovirus adjacent to the polyhedrin promoter by cotransfection of Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) insect cells with wild type baculovirus DNA. In antigenic analysis of Sf9 cells inoculated with the recombinant VP7, immunofluorescence assay revealed positive for viral antigens. In metabolic labeling of Sf9 cell lysates infected with recombinant baculoviruses, it was revealed that the protein of 34 kDa was expressed. The limited study of expressed VP7 protein inoculated with guinea pigs failed to elicit neutalizing antibody. As a results, the sequence analysis and expression of VP7 protein of rotavirus CAU-9 isolated from an infant in Korea could permit the conformation and development of virus like particles which may be useful in designing vaccine strategy
