        민주적 돌봄에 대한 사례 분석 : 인천지역 어린이집 교사와 부모 경험을 중심으로

        본 연구는 보육기관의 민주적 돌봄 환경을 살펴보기 위한 사례 연구이다. 인천지역 어린이집 보육교사와 부모의 경험을 토대로 민주적 돌봄 실천은 무엇인지 분석하고, 민주적 돌봄을활성화하기 위한 방안을 모색한다. 본 연구를 위해 인천광역시에 거주하는 영유아를 둔 부모와 2년 이상 경력의 어린이집 보육교사를 대상으로 포커스그룹 면접을 실시하였다. 포커스그룹 면접은 반구조화된 조사지를 토대로 이루어졌다. 면접조사의 참여 대상자는 각 5~6명씩 4 그룹으로 총 46명이다. 조사는 그룹별로 1~2시간에 걸쳐 진행되었다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는다음과 같다. 첫째, 민주적 참여 방법에는 부모참여(개방성), 어린이집 운영위원회, 지역사회교류가 있다. 둘째, 민주적 돌봄을 위해서는 양육자-어린이집 소통, 보육종사자간 소통, 양육자간 소통, 양육자-보육교사간 의사소통과 의사결정이 중요하다. 마지막으로 함께 돌보는 보육환경 조성이 중요하다. 함께 돌보는 환경을 위해서는 돌봄 노동 가치가 존중되는 노동환경, 영유아 돌봄에 대한 가치가 존중되는 사회 환경, 영유아 발달단계와 개별적 특성이 존중되는보육 여건, 온마을이 함께 돌보는 네트워크가 필요하다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 향후 민주적돌봄 활성화에 실천적 함의를 제공한다. This study is a case study to examine the democratic care environment of childcare institutions. Based on the experience of Incheon daycare center teachers and parents, we analyze what is being practiced for democratic care and seek ways to activate better democratic care. For this study, focus group interviews were conducted with parents of infants and toddlers living in Incheon Metropolitan City and daycare center teachers with more than two years of experience. The focus group interview was conducted in a semi-structured form. The number of participants in the interview survey was conducted in 4 groups of 5-6 people each, and a total of 46 people participated. The survey was conducted over 1 to 2 hours for each group. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, democratic participation includes parental participation (openness), daycare center steering committee, and community exchange. Second, communication between parents and childcare centers, communication between childcare teachers, communication between parents and childcare teachers and decision-making are important. Finally, a childcare environment to take care of together is important. For a caring environment together, there is a need for a working environment that respects the value of caring work, a social environment in which the value of caring for infants and toddlers is respected, a childcare environment in which the stage of infant development and individual characteristics are respected, and a network that the whole village takes care of together. The analysis results of this study provide practical implications for revitalizing democratic care in the future.

        또래 괴롭힘에 대한 아동의 반응 척도의 개발 및 타당화

        The purpose of the present study was to develop and validate a scale for measuring children's reactions to peer bullying. The children's reactions scale to bullying(CRSB) consisted of 16 pictures and episodes, each of which described direct or relational bullying situations. Children were asked what they would do if they witnessed peer bullying situations and forced to choose one of four response options for each episode. Four subscale scores were computed by summing the number of each response, retaliating on perpetrators, advocating bullies, watching bullying and doing noting(bystanding), or helping victims. The CRSB and a series of questionnaires were administered to a sample of 266 grade 6 elementary school students to establish its psychometric properties. The results suggested that 4 subscales had good internal consistencies(Cronbach's alpha = .71~.86). Correlation and factor analysis were used to investigate construct validity. There were significant correlations between advocating behavior and bullying experience(r=.36, p<.01), bystanding behavior and prosocial behavior(r=-.30, p<.01), and helping behavior and prosocial behavior(r=.34, p<.01), and bullying experience(r=-.27, p<.01). A three-factor solution emerged, consisting of a bystanding/helping, retaliating, and advocating behavior factor. These factors accounted for 36.5%(bystanding), 24.30%(retaliating), and 21.07%(advocating) of the variance on the CRSB, respectively. When children were categorized as ‘bullies’, ‘bully/victims’, ‘pure victims’ or ‘not involved’ on the basis of Social Experience Questionnaire, bullies were less likely to help the victims and more likely to advocate the perpetrators than other children. Limitations of the current study and implications for future research were discussed. 본 연구의 목적은 또래 괴롭힘에 대한 아동의 반응을 측정하기 위한 척도를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 괴롭힘에 대한 아동의 반응 척도(the children's reactions scale to bullying, CRSB)는 직접적 또는 관계적 괴롭힘 상황을 묘사하는 16개의 그림과 시나리오로 구성되어 있으며, 아동에게 또래 괴롭힘 상황을 목격한다면 어떻게 행동할 것인지 질문한 후, 4개의 보기 중 하나를 선택하도록 되어 있다. 각 보기에 대한 아동의 반응 빈도를 합산하여 4개의 하위척도, 즉 가해아동에 대한 보복, 괴롭힘에 대한 동조, 방관 또는 피해아동에 대한 도움 행동 점수가 산출된다. CRSB의 심리측정적 속성을 검증하기 위해 266명의 초등학교 6학년 학생에게 CRSB를 비롯한 몇 가지 자기보고식 질문지를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 4개의 CRSB 하위척도의 내적 일관성 신뢰도가 양호하였고(Cronbach's alpha = .71~.86), 동조행동과 가해경험(r=.36, p<.01), 방관행동과 친사회적 행동(r=-.30, p<.01) 및 도움행동과 친사회적 행동(r=.34, p<.01), 그리고 가해경험(r=-.27, p<.01) 간에 상관이 유의하였다. 요인분석 결과, 3개의 요인, 즉 방관, 보복 및 동조행동 요인이 추출되었고, 이들은 각각 변량의 36.5%, 24.30% 및 21.07%를 설명하였다. 사회경험질문지에 기초하여 아동을 가해, 피해, 가ㆍ피해 및 일반 아동으로 분류했을 때 가해아동은 다른 아동에 비해 도움행동을 더 적게, 그리고 동조행동을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 한계점과 후속 연구에 대한 제언이 논의되었다.

      • Comparison of the WSA-ENLIL CME propagation model with three cone types and an empirical model

        We have made a comparison of the WSA-ENLIL CME propagation model with three cone types and an empirical model using 29 halo CMEs from 2001 to 2002. These halo CMEs have cone model parameters from Michalek et al. (2007) as well as their associated interplanetary (IP) shocks. For this study we consider three different cone models (an asymmetric cone model, an ice-cream cone model and an elliptical cone model) to determine CME cone parameters (radial velocity, angular width and source location), which are used for input parameters of the WSA-ENLIL CME propagation model. The mean absolute error (MAE) of the arrival times at the Earth for the elliptical cone model is 10 hours, which is about 2 hours smaller than those of the other models. However, this value is still larger than that (8.7 hours) of an empirical model by Kim et al. (2007). We are investigating several possibilities on relatively large errors of the WSA-ENLIL cone model, which may be caused by CME-CME interaction, background solar wind speed, and/or CME density enhancement.

        Neural-Induced Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells Promote Cochlear Cell Regeneration in Deaf Guinea Pigs

        Objectives. In mammals, cochlear hair cell loss is irreversible and may result in a permanent sensorineural hearing loss. Secondary to this hair cell loss, a progressive loss of spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs) is presented. In this study, we have investigated the effects of neural-induced human mesenchymal stem cells (NI-hMSCs) from human bone marrow on sensory neuronal regeneration from neomycin treated deafened guinea pig cochleae. Methods. HMSCs were isolated from the bone marrow which was obtained from the mastoid process during mastoidectomy for ear surgery. Following neural induction with basic fibroblast growth factor and forskolin, we studied the several neural marker and performed electrophysiological analysis. NI-hMSCs were transplanted into the neomycin treated deafened guinea pig cochlea. Engraftment of NI-hMSCs was evaluated immunohistologically at 8 weeks after transplantation. Results. Following neural differentiation, hMSCs expressed high levels of neural markers, ionic channel markers, which are important in neural function, and tetrodotoxin-sensitive voltage-dependent sodium currents. After transplantation into the scala tympani of damaged cochlea, NI-hMSCs-injected animals exhibited a significant increase in the number of SGNs compared to Hanks balanced salt solution-injected animals. Transplanted NI-hMSCs were found within the perilymphatic space, the organ of Corti, along the cochlear nerve fibers, and in the spiral ganglion. Furthermore, the grafted NI-hMSCs migrated into the spiral ganglion where they expressed the neuron-specific marker, NeuN. Conclusion. The results show the potential of NI-hMSCs to give rise to replace the lost cochlear cells in hearing loss mammals.

        Protein Kinase C-mediated Neuroprotective Action of (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate against Aβ1-42-induced Apoptotic Cell Death in SH-SY5Y Neuroblastoma Cells

        The neurotoxicity of amyloid β (Aβ) is associated with an increased production of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis, and it has been implicated in the development of Alzheimer's disease. While (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) suppresses Aβ-induced apoptosis, the mechanisms underlying this process have yet to be completely clarified. This study was designed to investigate whether EGCG plays a neuroprotective role by activating cell survival system such as protein kinase C (PKC), extracellular-signal-related kinase (ERK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), and anti-apoptotic and pro-apoptotic genes in SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells. One μM Aβ1-42 decreased cell viability, which was correlated with increased DNA fragmentation evidenced by DAPI staining. Pre-treatment of SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells with EGCG (1μM) significantly attenuated Aβ1-42-induced cytotoxicity. Potential cell signaling candidates involved in this neuroprotective effects were further examined. EGCG restored the reduced PKC, ERK, and JNK activities caused by Aβ1-42 toxicity. In addition, gene expression analysis revealed that EGCG prevented both the Aβ1-42-induced expression of a pro-apoptotic gene mRNA, Bad and Bax, and the decrease of an anti-apoptotic gene mRNA, Bcl-2 and Bcl-xl. These results suggest that the neuroprotective mechanism of EGCG against Aβ1-42-induced apoptotic cell death includes stimulation of PKC, ERK, and JNK, and modulation of cell survival and death genes.

        Two anthozoans, Entacmaea quadricolor (order Actiniaria) and Alveopora japonica (order Scleractinia), host consistent genotypes of Symbiodinium spp. across geographic ranges in the northwestern Pacific Ocean

        The actiniarian sea anemone, Entacmaea quadricolor, and the scleractinian coral, Alveopora japonica, host symbiotic dinoflagellates belonging to the genus Symbiodinium (Freudenthal). We studied the hostsymbiont specificity of these two anthozoan hosts in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. Symbionts within the two hosts were identified using partial large subunit (LSU) ribosomal DNA (rDNA) and complete internal transcribed spacers (ITS) 1 rDNA regions. The host, E. quadricolor, was identified using the partial LSU rDNA molecular marker. Genetic analysis showed that E. quadricolor only harbors dinoflagellates belonging to subclade C1/3 of the genus Symbiodinium. Moreover, no genetic variation was detected among the symbionts of E. quadricolor within the study region (Korea and Japan), even though the two distant sites were separated by more than 1000 km, at collection depths of 1 m in shallow and 13-16 m in deep water. Whilst scleractinian corals host multiple Symbiodinium clades in tropical waters,A. japonica, sampled over a wide geographical range (800 km) within the study region, only hosts Symbiodinium sp. clade F3. The high specificity of endosymbionts in E. quadricolor and A. japonica within the northwestern Pacific Ocean could be accounted for because symbiotic dinoflagellates within the host anemones appear to be acquired maternally, and the Kuroshio Current might affect the marine biota of the northwestern Pacific. However, the consistency of the symbiotic relationships between these two anthozoan hosts and their endosymbionts could change after climate change, so this symbiotic specificity should be monitored.

        한부모여성의 일자리지원 참여 경험에 대한 연구 : 취성패와 자활프로그램을 중심으로

        This article examines single mothers’ experiences with the employment success package and the self-support program. It conducted in-depth interviews with 14 single mothers in May and June 2020. Single mothers experience difficulties in entering the labor market and shoulder the burden of caring responsibility in the process of providing for their single-parent households. First of all, the research shows that social security and its policies are designed without regard for those who seek work and are responsible for care. Secondly, the current employment success package and self-support programs do not consider child care in the employment support process. Finally, they fail to take into account the needs and interests of single-parent women and to provide professional job support services. Research outcomes reveal policy implications suggesting that employment support should consider the care responsibilities of single mothers. 본 연구는 한부모여성의 취성패와 자활 경험을 살펴보았다. 본 연구를 위해 2020년 5월과 6월에 걸쳐 이루어진 한부모여성들의 심층 인터뷰 중 일자리지원 제도 참여 경 험이 있는 참여자들의 인터뷰 자료를 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 일자리 지원이 자녀 돌봄 책임을 고려한 지원정책으로 설계되어 있지 않아 한부모여성에게 돌봄권을 보장 한 일자리 지원을 위한 제도적 보완이 필요하다. 둘째 현재 취성패와 자활 지원을 보면 돌봄자를 고려하지 않은 운영방식의 문제가 있고, 그로 인해 돌봄자로서 일자리 접근과 유지 과정에서 불이익을 경험한다. 마지막으로, 자활서비스의 고질적인 문제가 지속되고 있을 뿐만 아니라 한부모여성을 위한 전문적인 지원체계가 부재하다. 요컨대, 모두가 돌봄책임이 있다고 전제하는 돌봄 정책에 기초하여 한부모여성의 지속가능한 일자리 지원이 모색되어야 한다.
