Electrophilic addition of the halogens and related X-Y reagents to alkenes and alkynes has been a standard procedure since the beginning of modern organic chemistry. Regio- and stereospecific addition of electrophiles to alkenes and alkynes have been used for many years for controlled introduction of special functional groups as well as for other more general synthetic purposes. More recently, electrophiles have been added to the list of synthetically useful reagents that undergo stereocontrolled addition to π-bonds. But, the study of allenes on electrophiles has not been attentioned so far. In this paper, we report allene's reactivity and its reaction pattern on electrophiles such as PhSeCl, p-TsOH, HG(OCOCF_3)_2 and NBS.

Diltiazem and nifedipine, have been used throughout the world as an effective antianginal and antihypertensive agent. In order to increase the activity of these drugs, we synthesized the diltiazem-nifedipine coupling compounds. These compounds^(1-8) were tested for antihypertensive effect. Unfortunately, these compounds didn't show any promising activities.

Abstracts-A effective and new approach to development of impressive methodology for the synthesis of carbocyclic ring system was investigated. It is sequential cationic cycliazationpinacol rearrangement of acetal-allenic derivatives. In order to investigate the acid-catalyzed rearrangement, aldehyde and ketone derivatives with acetal as electrophile were first prepared. And the allenes were synthesized by Yamamoto procedure. Carvocyclic rings were formed by cyclization-pinacol rearrangement from allenes under Lewis acid in pressence of excess trimethylsily trifluoromethane sulfonate.

The cross-coupling reaction of organo tin reagents with a variety of organic halides, catalyzed by palladium, provides a novel method for generating a carbon-carbon bond. We used this method for the antibacterial agents, and synthesis of new quinolone derivatives which have carbon-carbon bond at C-7 position of general quinolone moieties. Aryl tin, quinolone moieties, and palladium catalyst were refluxed in DMF to afford new quinolone derivatives. This palladium catalyzed coupling reactions have capacity for further synthetic elaboration.

시뮬레이션은 비즈니스 운영 시스템 및 유효성과 성능을 검증하기 위한 일반적인 방법으로 활용되고 있다. 정보시스템의 아키텍처 설계 시에도 시뮬레이션을 적용하면 생산성 향상을 도모할 수 있으나, 정보시스템 아키텍처 설계를 위해 개발된 시뮬레이션 도구는 찾아보기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 따라, 본 연구는 정보시스템 아키텍처 시뮬레이션 도구를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 시뮬레이션 도구를 개발하기 위해 시스템 모델을 별도로 개발하였으며 시뮬레이션 결과의 정확성을 확보하기 위해 실제 프로젝트에서의 성능 테스트 결과를 이용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 시뮬레이션 도구는 다양한 조건에서 아키텍처 구성의 적합성을 검증하고 시스템 성능을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있어 아키텍처 구성 및 용량 산정 등에 활용함으로써 아키텍처 작업에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. Simulation is a popular method in verifing validity and performance of business operation systems. While similar benefits of simulation can be expected in information system architecture design, there have been few practical simulation tools that can be applied to information system architecture design. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop a system architecture simulation tool, which is named “the architecture simulator.” This tool can verify the validity of the architectural configurations and simulate the performance of the system in various settings. To implement the simulation tool, the system model has been developed and field-test results are used to secure the accuracy of the simulation results. The architecture simulator is expected to be practically utilized in the architectural configuration and the capacity planning.

Alginic acid and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium are dietary fibers from plants. They have a swelling property and delay the gastric emptying time, thereby resulting in feeling satiated after oral administration, which may eventually contribute to loss of body weight. The goal of this study was to compare swelling property of three commercial matrix tablets based on alginic acid and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium. When the swelling was determined by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) guideline, the tablet prepared by direct compression method with highly viscous swelling agent showed the highest swelling in acidic conditions. Water uptake of these tablets was rapid and completed within 30 min. Moreover, when the pH was changed from 2.5 to 6.8 buffer, the water uptake was not significantly changed in all tablets.
