        초등학생의 영어 연어(collocation)활용과 문자언어학습 및 영어학습태도

        The purpose of this experimental study is to examine effects of teaching vocabulary using collocations on written language learning and learning attitudes such as interest and self-confidence. For this study, 115 students of four classes in the sixth grade of an elementary school in a metropolitan city were chosen randomly based on the pre-reading and writing test, and pre-affective domain questionnaire. The participants were divided into two groups. The experimental group consisted of 56 students while the control group consisted of 59 students. The classroom experiment was conducted over a course of 12 weeks for a total of four lessons and 24 class periods. Firstly, collocation lists specific to each chapter were developed based on the suggested vocabulary list from the 2008 revised English curriculum in Korea. In order to learn vocabulary, the experimental group was taught using a collection of collocation-related activities, while the control group was taught using the traditional vocabulary method in which the focus is on the individual word. To verify the effectiveness of the experimental treatment on learners’ written language ability, post-reading and writing test results between the experimental group and control group were conducted and compared. In addition, two (pre- and post-) questionnaires for the affective domain were compared between the two groups. The results of the reading and writing achievement test and questionnaires yield the following major findings: Firstly, using collocations in vocabulary teaching showed a positive influence on English writing ability in the post- reading and writing test. The test showed that even though there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in reading score, significant improvement in writing skill of the experimental group resulted from collocation-oriented vocabulary teaching. Secondly, questionnaire results showed that teaching vocabulary using collocations had no effect on the learners’ interest and self-confidence in English learning. There were no significant differences between the pre questionnaire and the post questionnaire between the two groups. Thirdly, the experiment showed that the control group students who were only exposed to the traditional method of vocabulary teaching, which focuses on the individual word and spelling, lost their interests in English learning during the course of 12 weeks. When compared to the results of the pre and post questionnaires of the experimental group, it is shown that the control group lost in English learning while the experimental group maintained interest. The results of this study suggest that vocabulary teaching using collocations seems effective in improving writing ability in elementary school students and it is expected to have progressive influence on learners’ learning attitudes such as interest and self-confidence in learning English. In conclusion, using collocations in vocabulary teaching effectively improved written language learning. In addition, self-confidence and interest in the English language are expected to improve over a long period of time. Based on the findings of this study, teaching vocabulary through the use of collocations should be widely introduced and implemented in English language classrooms. By providing teachers with specific training on the scientific method and guidance on how to effectively use materials suited to the collocation method, students’ written language ability will improve and overall interest and self-confidence in English will be positively influenced.

        경력단절여성의 자녀상호작용 및 사회적 지지가 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향: 부부갈등의 매개효과 검증

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of child interaction, marital conflict and social support on the career-interrupted women’s parenting stress and to investigate the mediating effects of marital conflict between child interaction and parenting stress. The data of 8th Panel Study on Korean Children was used for this, and it was conducted descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis on the data of 868 career-interrupted women. According to the analysis, the factors affecting career-interrupted women’s parenting stress are the child interaction, marital conflict, and social support, and it showed 32.3% of explanatory power and the influence of marital conflict was the highest. It was also found that marital conflicts were partially mediated in the relation with the child interaction and parenting stress. Based on this, this study suggests the policy and practical measures to prevent and reduce their parenting stress in view of supporting the career-interrupted women’s reentry of labor market in the era of work-family balance. 본 연구는 경력단절여성의 자녀상호작용, 부부갈등, 사회적 지지가 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 자녀상호작용과 양육스트레스 관계에서 부부갈등의 매개효과를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 8차년도 한국아동패널 데이터를 활용하였으며, 868명의 경력단절여성의 데이터를 대상으로 기술통계, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 경력단절여성의 양육스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 자녀상호작용(β=-.184), 부부갈등(β=.427), 사회적지지(β=-.096)이며 32.3%의 설명력을 보였고, 부부갈등의 영향력이 가장 높았다. 또한 자녀상호작용과 양육스트레스의 관계에서 부부갈등은 부분매개를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 일․가정양립 시대에 경력단절여성의 노동시장 재진입을 지원하는 관점에서 이들의 양육스트레스를 예방․경감하기 위한 정책적, 실천적 방안을 제언하였다.

        사회활동을 하는 농촌 노인의 사회적 관계망이 건강에 미치는 영향

        This study aims to identity the impact of social network on the health of the rural elderly in social activities. On this study, social networks were composed of marital relations, parent-child relationship and relationship with friends, meanwhile, health was measured with the self-rated health, health behavior and social & emotional loneliness. The findings of this study could be summarized as following. First, the self-rated health was meaningly influenced by gender, the standard of living, the number of children, the contact frequency with children, the friend satisfaction. Second, the factors affecting the health behavior of the rural elderly were the presence of the education level, the standard of living, the children satisfaction, the contact frequency with friend and the friend satisfaction. Thirdly, the social & emotional loneliness had negative relations with the standard of living, the children and the friend satisfaction. Noticeably, according to hierarchical linear regression analysis, the friend satisfaction was a factor affecting the self-rated health, the health behavior and social & emotional loneliness of the rural elderly. Thus, this study suggests that the quality of social network should be important in order to improve the level of health of the rural elderly.
