도담탕(導痰湯)이 뇌손상(腦損傷) 및 고혈압(高血壓)에 미치는 영향(影響)

Objective : This study was carried out to investigate the effects of DDT on the brain damage and hypertension. Methods : We observed the effect of Dodamtang(DDT) extract on KCN-induced coma, focal brain ischemia by MCA occlusion, cytotoxicity and protection of PC12 cells and B103 cells induced by amyloid ${\beta}$ protein(25-35). To prove the effect of DDT as a blood pressure depressant, we measured aldosterone, renin activity, catecholamine, sodium and NO density using the seperated blood plasma. Results : DDT showed a protective effect on cytotoxicity of PC12 cells and B103 cells induced by amyloid ${\beta}$ protein(25-35) in a dose dependent manner and proved the significant abridgement of brain ischemic area and edema induced by MCA occlusion, a critical decrease of neurologic deficitic grade in the fore-limbs. DDT didn't reduce the duration of KCN(1.87mg/kg iv.)-induced coma and prolonged the survival rate in the case of KCN(3.0mg/kg iv.)-induced coma by the ratio of 20%. While DDT increased the value of NO in SHR, it significantly decreased the blood pressure of SHR and the value of aldosterone& epinephrine in SHR. Conclusions : These results suggested that DDT might be usefully applied for treatment of hypertension, cerebral infarction, and brain damage.
계혈등(鷄血藤)이 Rat의 말초신경 재생에 미치는 효과

Objective : Gyehyuldeung (GHD) has been widely used in oriental medicine for the treatments of cardiovascular and neurological disorders. Thus, its potential facilitatory activity on axonal regeneration was investigated in the rats. Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were given crush injury at the sciatic nerve and the changes of axon growth after nerve injury on each nerve injury model were investigated with anti-NF-200 antibody, DiI, GAP-43 protein and Cdc2 protein Results : GHD-mediated enhancement of axonal regeneration after crush injury was measured in both qualitative and quantitative ways by immunofluorescence staining with anti-NF-200 antibody and retrograde tracing of fluorescence dye DiI. GAP-43 protein levels were elevated by GHD treatments in the distal injured sciatic nerve and DRG sensory neurons. The neurite outgrowth of DRG sensory neurons was facilitated by GHD treatment when co-cultured with Schwann cells and astrocytes prepared from injured sciatic nerves and injured spinal cord tissues, respectively. It was observed that Cdc2 protein was up-regulated in co-cultured Schwann cells or astrocytes and Cdc2 protein signals were co-localized to a certain extent with those of phospho-vimentin protein. Conclusions : These results suggest that GHD may play a facilitatory role in axonal regeneration by acting on the injured axons and adjacent non-neuronal cells. The current findings may be useful for the development of therapeutic targets through more specific explorations on molecular interactions between herbal components and endogenous factors.

Tremor is a rhythmic and involuntary muscular contraction characterized by oscillations of body parts. Tremor often accompanies neurological disorders associated with aging. Although the disorder is not life-threatening, it can be responsible for functional disability and interpersonal relationship problems. We have recently examined a number of tremor-patients. one of them was improved significantly through the herbal medicine (Yeokgansan-gamibang) and acupuncture, so we report it for the better treatment.

Water penetration phenomena into porous sand beds were quantitatively visualized using X-ray imaging technique. Three kinds of sand having different size distributions(75-100,100-125,150-200㎛) were used as porous media. The average energy level of the X-ray tube was about 45.8KeV. The wetting front of water and the amount of water contents were obtained simultaneously. By applying the Beer-Lambert law, the water contents thickness was also obtained. The porous layer was classified into two regions (inertia influence region(IIR) and inertia non-influence region(INR)) by the intial inertial influence. In IIR region, due to the decrease of inertia force, the seepage velocity was decreased with increasing the penetration depth into the porous media. In INR region, the vertical seepage velocity of the wetting front nearly constant due to insignificant variation of hydraulic conductivity. In the initial stage, the water contents exhibit a preferential flow path along the vertical direction. After the fully saturation of water into the porous sand, the water transport becomes nearly uniform in all directions.

From the Kyoto Protocol until Paris Climate Change Accord, the interest in the eco-friendly energy topic has been gradually emerging. According to this trend, renewable energy resources accounted for 33% of the world"s power generation utilities, and the cumulative size is 2,378 [GW]. As a result of this trend, the domestic Renewable Energy (RE) market is also sustainable growth along with the government’s 2050 Carbon Neutralization strategy. This change in the system requests for an Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) in a state where both demand and supply change from the conventional ELD, which is used to control power generation as demand changes. In this paper, we propose an ELD that considers the intermittency and uncertainty of the Photovoltaic (PV) system. To verify the efficiency of the proposed ELD method, we calculate the expected results through one of the probabilistic methods, using Monte Carlo (MC) simulation and the Probability distribution model. Finally, by determining the optimal generation through Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms that are used to consider the input and output characteristics of generators in ELD, we calculate the economic operating profit based on the expected results.
