In order to meet the stringent emission regulations and to protect our environment, many researches have been carried out to reduce exhaust emissions from automobiles. Among these, the close-coupled catalytic converter (CCC) shortens the activation time during the warm-up period by placing it as close as possible by the exhaust manifold. This study is an experimental study on the characteristics of emission by changing catalytic converter position for cold-start. The measurements are done a changing of the distance between exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. It measured temperature of exhaust manifold, before and after catalytic converter at each position of experimental condition. and measured the characteristics of emission which is HC. CO. CO₂and lambda at each position of experimental condition.
디스크 브레이크의 마찰면에서 발생되는 스퀼소음에 관한 실험적 연구

There are various noises generated by friction. Among the rest, eliminating squeal noise generated during braking is an important task for the improvement of vehicle passengers' comfort. The parameters affecting brake squeal noise are the material properties of the braking pad, the dynamic properties of the brake parts and the dimensions of the brake assembly etc. Also, the squeal noise changes its inherent form with the normal load and sliding speed. In this study, the characteristics of brake squeal noise generated by friction is analyzed experimentally. Thе experiment focused on the analysis of friction self-excited vibration and squeal noise level. Friction self-excited vibration is caused by the dry friсtiоn between pads and rotor, and occurs as a function of their relative sliding speeds. And Friction self-excited vibration is raised the brake squeal noise.

The clinical and pathological features were analyzed for 11 cases with intracranial ependymoma treated surgically at the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center during the years 1987 to 1992. Tumor histology was reviewed individually and grouped into three categories(Cate-gories I to HI) according to the pathologic grade used by Nazar, et a16'. The correlation between the pathologic grade and prognosis after surgery was investigated. There were 2 cases(18%6) with category I histology, 5(45%) with category II histology, and 4(36%) with category 111 histology. The high recurrent rate. short recurrent interval, high rate of cerebrospinal fluid seeding and poor outcome were noted in patients with category IlI histology. The authors also investigated the recurrent interval according to the degree of tumor resection. The mean recurrent interval after surgery was 12 months in cases of subtotal resection and 33 months in a case of total resection. Tumors resected subtotally showed response to radiation and chemotherapy. In conclusion, the pathologic grade and the degree of tumor resection were regarded as important prognostic factors after surgery. Aggressive surgery with chemotherapy or radiotherapy were required in the management of intracranial ependymoma.

신경상피 뇌종양 12례(양성 성상세포종 5례, 악성 성상세포종 2례, 수아세포종 1례, 핍지신경교종 1례, 상의세포종 1례, 맥락총 유두종 1례)를 대상으로 염색체 7, 17 및 22번에 각각 좌위한 EGRR, P^(53) 및 bcr 유전자의 변화를 찾기위해 Southern blot 분석을 시행하였다. 결과에서 EGFR 유전자의 이형접합체 소실은 2례의 수아세포종 그리고 재배열은 1례의 상의세포종에서 검색되었고, P^(53) 유전자의 이형접합체 소실은 1례의 맥락총 유두종과 1례의 양성 성상세포종에서, 재배열은 1례의 핍지신경교종에서 발견되었으며 bcr 유전자의 이형접합체 소실은 2례의 수아세포종과 2례의 양성 성상세포종에서 그리고 재배열은 2례의 악성 성상세포증에서 관찰되었다. 위의 결과로 신경상피 뇌종양의 암화과정이나 발달에 염색체 7, 17 및 22번내의 특이한 유전자 변화가 관여하는 것으로 사료되었다. Cancer may be a disease of genes, arising from genetic damage of diverse sorts-recessive and dominant mutations, large rearrangement of DNA and gene translocation on chromosomes, all leading to distorsions of either the expression or biochemical function of genes. The search for these genetic damage in neoplastic cells now is the most important in cancer research. It has been found that the cancer relevant genes were located on the specific regions of chromosomes. To determine whether epidermal p w t h factor receptor(EGFR), PS3 and bcr genes located in chromosomes 7, 17 and 22 are altered, we examined 12 neuroepithelial tumor with Southern blot analydfive low grade astrocytoma, two high grade astrocytoma, two medulloblastoma, one oligodendroglioma, one ependymoma, one choroid plexus papilloma). The loss of heterozygosity(L0H) of EGFR gene was detected in two cases of medulloblastoma. The rearrangement of EGFR gene was detected in a case of ependymoma The LOH of Pa gene was found in a case of choroid plexus papilloma and low grade astrocytoma The rearrangement of P53 gene was found in a case of oligodendroglioma. The M H of bcr gene was observed in two cases of medulloblastoma and low grade astrocytoma The rearrangement of bcr gene was observed in two cam of high grade astrocytoma. These results suggested that tumorigenesis and tumor development in the neuroepithelial tumor may involve specific gene changes in chromosomes 7, 17 and 22.
