Purpose: To compare reproductive health promoting behaviors (RHPBs) of infertile women with those of normal women and identify effects of RHPB on infertility. Methods: A total of 148 females (73 infertile women and 75 normal women) were enrolled in this study. Measurements included their general characteristics and RHPB using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, χ2 test, ANCOVA, and hierarchical logistic regression using SPSS. Results: There were significant difference in incomes, number of family, number of term deliveries, and number of abortions according to infertility diagnosis. Mean duration of infertility was 32.16 months. Only 12.32% women had known cause of infertility. The most common cause of infertility was unknown. Mean RHPB score was 3.98 for infertile women and 4.41 for normal women. In logistic regression, total RHPB (odds ratio [OR], 0.21) and safe sex of RHPB (OR, 0.66) were significant factors influencing infertility. Infertile women's total RHPB and subcategories of RHPB (safe sex behavior and sexual transmitted disease [STD] prevention) were lower than those of normal women. Conclusion: For infertility women, RHPB-related intervention programs are needed, especially information about safe sex behavior and STD prevention.

The propose of this paper was to examine the effect of surface roughness and shear stress of support medium on the development of biofilm in a rotating biological contactor. The surface roughness of PMMA as a support media was adjusted to 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, and 3㎛, respectively. Shear stress was varied with speed of rotating biological contactor. At low shear stress, bacterial attachment was not varied greatly with surface roughness. But at increased shear stress, bacterial attachment was changed sharply with surface roughness.
Seasonal Prevalence of Mosquitoes Collected from Light Trap in Pusan, Korea (1993∼1995)

1993년부터 1995년까지 모기방세 시기와 모기 발생 추이를 알아내기 위하여 김해시와 인접한 부산시 강서구 대저 2동의 한 우사에서 유문등을 설치하여 모기성충 채집을 실시하였다. 모기 채집을 위한 유문등은 매년 5월부터 10월까지 가동하였다. 채집된 모기 성충의 총수는 1993년에 5,562마리. 1994년에 29,878마리 그리고 1995년에 21,203마리였으며, 성별 채집수는 1993년 암컷이 4,671마리(84.1%). 수컷이 881마리(15.9%), 1994년에 암컷이 26,616마리(89.1%),수컷이 3,262마리(92.6%), 수컷이 1,563마리(7.4%)였다. 조사한 3년간 채집된 모기는 2속 3종 중으로 Anopheles sinensis(46.6%)가 가장 높은 채집율을 보였고, 다음으로 Culex tritacniorhynchus(30.9%)와 Culex pipiens pallens(22.5%)가 그 뒤를 이었다. 종별 채집율에서 1995년의 Anopheles sinensis 채집율은 전년도에 비하여 44% 증가하였으나 Culex tritaeniorhynchus의 채집율은 같은 기간동안 반대로 66%감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 현상은 1994년도에 나타난 높은 기온과 관계있는 것으로 추정하였다. The results of adult mosquito collection at Dajeo 2-dong of Pusan, located at south-east of the Korean peninsula from 1993 to 1995 are presented. A light trap was operated for adult collection frodm May to October each year. This surveillance was performed to determine when to recommend insecticide spraying or mosquito control in Pusan. A total of 5.552, 29,898 and 21,203 adults were collected in 1993, 1994 and 1995, respectively, being comprised of 4,671(84.1%) females and 881(15.9%) males in 1993; 16,616(89.1%) females and 3,262(10.9%) males in 1994 and 19,640(92.6%) females and 1,563(7.4%) mles in 1995. Among the total 3 species comprising 2 genera. Anopheles sinensis (46.6%) showed the highest population, followed by Culex tritaeniorhynchus (30.9%) and Cx, pipiens pallens (22.5%). A density increase of almost 44% of the An sinensis proportion from 1994 to 1995 and a decrease of 66% for the Cx, tirtaeniorhynchus proportion was oberved for the same years. It was assumed that a major factor to ingluence reproduction of the two species of mosquitoes was temperature.
