We implement a linear optical half adder by using the polarization and the spatial mode of an electromagnetic field as qubits. With these two qubits carried by the same photons, we implement a CNOT gate that uses the polarization as a control qubit and the spatial mode as a target qubit, we also implement an AND gate. By combining the two logic gates, we can construct a half adder.
Analysis of Propagating Beam Transverse-mode Evolution by Using the Wigner Distribution Function

The propagation property and spatial coherence of laser beams having different transverse modes were studied experimentally. By applying the Radon transformation to the Wigner distribution function measured in our experiment, we could get complete information on the evolution of the transverse amplitude distribution of a propagating laser beam. We found that laser beams propagate in quite different ways even though the field amplitudes at the light source were similar to each other. The experimental results are explained in connection with the fractional Fourier transform,the interference of partial amplitudes, and directional coherence.

In this study, when air mobility with a completed airframe assembly moves to its operational destination throughland transportation, such as trucks, the random vibrations generated during the transportation process are transmittedto the airframe structure, and the effect on the deterioration of the structural performance of airframe parts isanalyzed. To study the impact of ground vibrations on the structure, the random vibration test conditions defined inMIL-STD-810H Method 514.8, the U.S. military environmental testing standard, were applied to investigate thestructural integrity; the strength standards assumed in previous studies were the same. We present a design plan thatensures structural integrity while ensuring the continuity of the research results.
Evaluation of Fuel Consumption of B747-400 in Short–range Flight with Catapult Assist

Recently, the aviation industry has sought to reduce its carbon usage in aircraft operations. Specifically, the industry is proceeding with the development of ultra-large turbofan engines and the development of hybrid electric engines to reduce the fuel consumption of aircraft. In one case, Airbus is developing as its future goal an aircraft with a short take-off distance that uses a catapult. In this study, when a b747-400 aircraft with two of the four engines removed was tested using a catapult, its fuel consumption was compared with that of the original aircraft. Fuel consumption was calculated using the mass flow consumption formula. Further, the aircraft L/D ratio caused by engine removal was interpreted using the CFD Tool, Ansys Fluent. The results showed that the lift ratio was improved by about 7% and that the fuel efficiency was improved by about 14%.
백금 담지 촉매 표면에서 H<sub>2</sub> spillover 이동 현상에 대한 연구

400℃에서 실행된 환원 실험 결과로부터 Pt이 담지 되지 않은 SiO<sub>2</sub>와 Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>에서는 흡착된 수소를 관찰 할 수 없으나, Pt이 담지된 Pt/SiO<sub>2</sub>촉매 및 Pt/Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>촉매에서 산도가 증가함에 따라 수소의 흡착 현상이 더욱 증가하는 것을 관찰 할 수 있다. 또한 Pt/Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>촉매의 단위 면적당 흡착 속도가 Pt/SiO<sub>2</sub>보다 상대적으로 15배정도 큰 것으로 나타난다. 이와 같은 결과는 spillover현상으로 인한 것으로 추측되어 진다. 따라서, 수소 spillover는 Pt/Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>에서 Pt/SiO<sub>2</sub>보다 단위 표면적 넓이당 더욱 활발히 진행되는 것을 알 수 있으며, 이는 spillover를 요구하는 모든 촉매 반응을 위한 이정표가 될 것으로 사료된다.
