There is need to balance safety, economy and serviceability in all phases of society problem. This sis especially true in structural code formulation, where a framework is established by which practicing structural engineers can be assured of designing structures that reasonably meet the above three objectives. The existing design codes, which are generally based on the structural theory and certain engineering experience, do not realistically consider the uncertainties of loads and resistances and the basic reliability concepts. The purpose of the present study is therefore to develop the realistic reliability-based design criteria to secure adequate safety and reliability. To this end, the reliability levels of our existing design code for steel structures are first evaluated and the target reliability are determined, and new code formats are evolved from these target reliabilities.
녹색성장을 위한 구조물의 VE/LCA 분석 및 자산관리 평가 시스템 개발

In this study, a new method for the structures integrated VE(value engineering) approach based on LCA(life cycle assessment) and asset management is proposed to overcome the limit of the existing VE/LCC methods and to implement the preventive structures reliability-based integrated VE/LCA and asset management system. The proposed method can establish the reliability-based maintenance strategy and asset management system of the deteriorating infrastructures considering the abiotic resource depletion and global warming condition, etc as well as LCC(life cycle cost). The life cycle cost is evaluated by considering not only the direct maintenance cost bug also the user and environment cost. By using the developed program, this study proposed a process of asset management scenario applying to be the selection of bridge superstructures of national road, and the study examined the proposed method by establishing a reliability-based integrated VE/LCA strategy and asset management system for the existing structure and its advantages. The result shows that the proposed method can be effectively applied to deciding the infrastructures reliability-based integrated VE/LCA strategy and asset management system.

This paper aims to propose a method that helps maintenance engineers to evaluate the damage states of bridge systems by using a Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis(FFTA). It may be stated that Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis may be very useful for the systematic and rational condition and safety assessment for real bridge systems problems because the approach is able to effectively deal with all the related bridge system damages in terms of the linguistic variables that incorporate systematically experts experiences and subjective judgement.

It has been recognized a considerable number of damaged structures require repairing and alteration from time to time. Since most of the existing structures may suffer from defect, corrosion and damage, it is an emergent and important task to establish a method of evaluating the intergrity of damaged structures. In this paper, an attempt is made to develope a integrity assessment for damaged structures using fuzzy approximate reasoning. By using the evaluating system, the analysis is performed through such linguistic valiables as "Large", "medium", "small" etc. Information of the linguistic valiables is transmitted from the input events to the top events, in which weightening is taken into account on the evaluation of each damage factor.

실제 구조물에 있어 확률, 통계 및 이론으로 구해진 랜덤성을 갖는 객관적 불확실성뿐만 아니라 설계자의 경험이나 공학적 판단에 의해 주관적으로 평가되는 인간오차나 시공중의 과오 또는 구조설계에 미치는 사회적, 정치적 및 경제적 요청 등의 퍼지성을 갖는 주관적 불확실성이 존재하기 때문에 현실적으로 랜덤성과 퍼지성을 동시에 고려한 실뢰성평가 즉, 안전성평가에 대한 퍼지이론의 도입이 필수 불가결하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 구조물의 객관적·주관적 불확실성을 동시에 고려한 신뢰성해석방법으로 베이즈의 의사결정이론에 퍼지이론을 병합한 퍼지-베이즈 신뢰성해석 알고리즘을 개발하여 건축구조물의 신뢰성평가 및 안전성평가에 적용하여 분석하였다.
