사회공헌활동을 통한 기업의 글로벌 CSR: 삼성전자 CSR 전략을 중심으로

CSR is ‘stakeholder-based management activities’ which enhance corporate value in the mid-to long-term. In this study, we would like to analyze the core attributes of regional CSRs, along with the global and local CSR elements that global enterprises shpuld consider in the performance of social responsibility activities. In preparation for the fourth industrial revolution, Samsung Electronics is conducting two pillars, which are youth education for future generations and win-win cooperation to support small and medium-sized enterprises for their development. It is pushing to resolve social polarization and solve youth unemployment issues and carrying out shared growth with others. In other words, the company will push ahead with its direction to generate practical results by utilizing Samsung Electronics" core capabilities and resources to solve important challenges in Korean society. It was confirmed that global enterprises are evolving their social responsibility activities in various ways, including social achievements and the pursuit of community development and change.

Event Study 방법론을 이용한 Recall이 주가에 미치는 영향 분석 : Galaxy Note 7과 iPhone 6 중심으로

기업의 정체성과 브랜드 명성을 결정하는 핵심요인중 Recall 또한 중요한 요소이며, 고객들의 큰 관심사항이기도 하다. 리콜에 대한 기업의 대응 결과에 따라 충성도 높은 고객들을 포함하여 대규모 이탈에 따른 사업의 존폐여부가 발생하기도 한다. 반대로, 신속하고 고객의 마음을 얻을 수 있는 조치를 진행한다면 리콜(필요시 단종)에 따른 손실은 발생하지만 고객유지 및 브랜드 관리는 상당부분 가능하다. 최근에는 제품에 구조적 결함이 발생한 경우 기업이 자발적으로 제품 리콜을 발표하여 적극적으로 대처하는 경우가 늘어나고 있으나, 이러한 시장 상황의 변화 속에서 제품 리콜이나 서비스 실패가 기업의 성과에 어떤 부정적 또는 긍정적 효과를 미치는지를 분석한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구와 달리 Event Study 방법론을 이용하여 리콜과 리콜을 시행한 기업의 가치 간 관계에 대하여 리콜의 발생이 기업의 주식가치에 영향을 미치는지, 리콜 규모 또는 시기에 따라 기업의 주식가치에 미치는 영향은 다르게 나타나는지를 실증 분석하였다. 이번 연구는 휴대폰시장의 Major업체인 삼성전자와 애플의 북미시장에서의 스마트폰 리콜이 회사의 주가에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석을 하였으며, 결론적으로 출시후 약 2개월에 걸쳐 리콜과 단종을 진행한 Galaxy Note 7의 Event day(recall)에는 비정상수익(abnormal return)이 발생 하였으나 iPhone 6의 Event day에는 발생하지 않았다. Galaxy Note 7의 리콜은 2016년에 가장 기대되는 제품이었기 때문에 소비자와 투자자들에게 영향을 미칠수 있었다. Event day에 Galaxy Note 7의 배터리 이슈만이 삼성전자 기업가치에 영향을 미쳤는지는 확정하기는 어렵지만 리콜, 특별조치, 환불 등으로 인한 영향은 존재하였다. 반면, 삼성전자는 리콜에 따른 비정상수익(abnormal return)이 발생 하였음에도 불구하고 단종 등 신속하고 과감한 의사결정으로 고객 유지 및 브랜드 명성에 대한 손실을 최소화 하였다. Recall, which is a key factor in determining corporate identity and brand reputation, is also an important factor and a big concern for customers. Depending on the result of the company’s response to the recall, it may occur whether the business is maintained or not due to large-scale departure, including loyal customers. On the other hand, if you proceed with measures that are quick and can win the customer’s mind, there will be a loss due to recall (discontinued if necessary), but customer maintenance and brand management are possible. In recent years, when a structural defect occurs in a product, a company announces recall of the product voluntarily and responds. However, in the changed situation of the market, there are few analyses of negative or positive effects that the product recall or service failure has on the performance of the company. In this study, the Event Study methodology has been used to demonstrate the relationship between the recall and the value of the company that has performed the recall, how the occurrence of the recall affects the stock value of the company, and how the scale or time of recall makes differences in the impact on the stock value of the company. The study analyzes the impact of smartphone recall in North American markets of Samsung Electronics and Apple, the major players in the mobile phone market, on the company’s share price. In conclusion, an abnormal return occurred on the Event Day (recall) of Galaxy Note 7, which was recalled and discontinued for about two months after its release and did not occur on the Event Day of iPhone 6. The recall of the Galaxy Note 7 was the most anticipated product in 2016, so it could affect consumers and investors. It is difficult to determine whether only the battery issue of the Galaxy Note 7 affected Samsung Electronic’ corporate value in Event Day, but there were effects such as recall, special action, refund. On the other side, Samsung Electronics minimized the loss of customer maintenance and brand reputation by making quick decisions such as discontinuation even though abnormal returns.

Tamoxifen, a nonsteroidal hormone that acts as antiestrogen in breast tissue, is used among women of all ages for treatment of all stages of breast cancer. Tamoxifen reduces the risk of subsequent contralateral breast cancer as well as breast cancer recurrences and mortality. Toremifene is another antiestrogen, less uterotrophic agent which has been proven to be effective in the treatment of breast cancer. The use of both tamoxifen and toremifene has been linked to the risk of endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia and tamoxifen may increase the risk of endometrial cancer. However due to the rare use of toremifene up to the mid-1990s, the risk assessment concerning endometrial cancer was inconclusive. We experienced a case of endomerial cancer associated with toremifene use in breast cancer patient and report with the brief review of literatures.

This study was carried out to analyze rainfall events, geo-topographical characteristics at the landsliding area of about 3. lha in Nasamri, Juchonmyeon, Gimhaesi, Gyeongsangnam-do. There were many cracks and soil burying. Most rainfall was infiltrated from the surface layer to the subsurface layer. We found that subsurface water in the area was sprang out to the surface areas in the bottom of landsliding area. Heavily continued rainfall above 350㎜ which led to rapid shift of soil mass was one of the dominant factors in this landslide. We conclude that the occurrence of landslide was closely related to geo-topographical characteristics, hydrological conditions and rainfall mass events.
