      • Mouse배 십이지장상피의 세포환에 미치는 전자기장의 영향에 관한 연구

        albino mouse embryo의 십이지장와 세포의 세포환에 미치는 자장의 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 ^3H-thymidine을 이용한 자기 방사능 법으로 고찰해 본 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. mouse embryo의 십이지장와세포의 세포환은 자장의 영향을 받는다. 2. DNA 표지지수와 분렬지수는 작아지고 3. DNA합성전기는 55%가량 길어지며 4. 이 결과로 세대시간은 정상보다 3.3시간 길어진다. Investigations were carried out on the effect of constant magnetic field on the cell cycle and duration of its phases. The effects of magnetic field on mouse embryo during first 17days of gestation were examined in the duodenal crypt cell by means of autoradiography. The decresed labelling and mitotic indices were observed. The S phase was slightly lengthened in experimental animals. Remarkable lengthening of G_1 phase was encountered in experimental animals resulting the lengthening of generation time. A new approach and the validity of the effects of magnetic field on biological systems were discussed.

      • Testosterone 投與한 鷄胎器官의 成長 및 相對成長에 關하여

        This study is to analyze the effects of testostenone on the weight gains of body weight and various organs of chick embroys, out of which growth and relative growth formula have been derived. On the 8th and 12th days of incubation, 0.5㎎ and 7.5㎎ of testosterone were injected into the chorio-allantoic membrance of each incubated egg of two groups, and each main group were devided into three more small groups such as control, 0.5㎎ injected group and 7.5㎎ injected group. Between the 12th and 18th of incubation day, a daily total of 10 treated eggs were brocken for weighing the body weights of chick embryos and six organs, namely, brain, eyeball, lung, liver, heart and kidney. The authors used Dr. Joo's formula to analyze the growth and relative growth in this study. The results are as follows: 1) Growth rate; In the 8th day group, it was observed to be increased in body weight through out three groups-control, 0.5㎎ group and 7.5㎎ group, in 0.5㎎ groups and 7.5㎎ groups of brain, lung and liver, in 0.5㎎ group of heart and in 7.5㎎ group of kidney. The others were decreased. In the 12th day group, the increase in growth rate was observed in followings; eevery group of body weight, lung and liver, control group and 7.5㎎ group of kidney. The others were decreased. 2) Specific growth rate; The increase was observed onlo in the drug injected groups of lung in 12th day group and the others were decreased. Among the others, 7.5㎎ groups of lung in 8th day group and body weight in 12th group were increased until 13th day of incubation and thereafter they were decreased. And control of lung in 12th day group was increased until 16th day of incubation and was decreased thereafter. 3) Growth gradient: The growth centers appeared as follows. a) In the 8th day group; most of them were on 12th day of incubation, except 0.5㎎ group of brain which was on between 16th and 17th, control of eyeball on 15th, 0.5㎎ group of eyeball on 13th, 0.5㎎ groups of lung and liver on 18th, and 7.5㎎ group of lung on between 17th and 18th day. b) In the 12th day group; most of them were found to be on 12th day of incubation except control and 0.5㎎ groups of eyeball on 13th, liver and control group of kidney on 18th day. 4) Coefficient of relative growth; The coefficients of relative growth to body weight were as follows: a) In the 8th day group; 7.5㎎ group of lung, liver and 0.5㎎ group of kidney were of positive allometry; the others showed negative. b) In the 12th day group;0.5㎎ group of brain and every group of liver were of positive allometry and the others were negative.

      • 척추동물 심근세포의 분리와 배양

        To develop a simple method in isolation and cultivation of cardiac myocytes, 3-day old rat hearts were used. 0.1% trypsin and 0.1 collagenase were used combiningly to achieve a high yield of viable cells. Myocardial cells were separated from endotheloid cells via differential attachment technique. Cells were cultured in Falcon flasks, Rose chambers and Leighton tubes. Changes of cell population in culture were observed and effects of enzymes were discussed.

      • Polyethylene Glycol 처리후에 배양한 세포의 Succinate Dehydrogenase 양상에 관하여

        To device a technique to distinguish the different cell types in mixed cell population, succinate dehydrogenase staining method was used. Myocardial cells from 3day old Sprague-Dowly rats and human epidermoid cells were cultured in mixed population. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was applied to induce cell fusion. Cells cultured in Leighton tubes were processed for succinate dehydrogenase staining. Myocardial cells and hybrid cells revealed strong positive reaction to SD staining while HEP-2 cell revealed negative reaction. Myocardial cells and hybrid cells differed in that hybrid cells had finer, and more homogenously distributed mitochondria. The merits and the mechanisms of reaction were discussed.

      • 병아리 십이지장와 상피세포의 세포환에 관한 연구

        Tritiated thymidine autoradiography has been applied to the duodenal progenitor population (crypts of Lieberkuhn) in one day postnatal male chick to determine 1) the cell cycle of the progenitor cell pool, 2) the characteristics of DNA synthetic index, and the 3) mitotic index. Available amounts of colchicine were injected into the animals before sacrifice to arrest the dividing cell nucleus at metaphase. The results of this investigation are as follows: 1) The generation time was 14 hours, 2) DNA synthetic index was 23.3%, and 3) The mitotic index was 1.8%. The cause of shortening of DNA synthetic phase and the lengthening of post mitotic phase were discussed.

      • 1. Amaranth, Brilliant Blue 및 Tartrazine이 鷄胎成長에 미치는 效果에 關한 硏究

        The goal of this study is the analysis of the effects of amaranth, brilliant blue and tartrazine on the growth of chick embryos. On the 6th day of incubation, 2㎎ or 20㎎ of amaranth, brilliant blue or tartrazine was injected into the chorioalantoic membrane of each incubated egg. On 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th day of incubation, 10 treated eggs of each group were broken for weighing and the weights of body, brain, lung, heart and liver were measured. The authors used growth formula to analyse the growth pattern of eggs treated with respective color. The results are as follows: 1. Over dose of amaranth or brilliant blue produces remarkable growth inhibition in chick embryo. 2. The greater growth inhibition is occured in 20㎎ treated groups than in 2㎎ treated growth. 3. The growth inhibition produced by the over dose of tartrazine is a little more than nothing.

        Ventricular myocardial cells from 3day old rat hearts were fused with human epidermoid cancer cells(HEP-2 cells) by PEG technique. Fusion technique using PEG and IEHM was introduced. Frequencies of hybrid cells increased until 4 days after PEG freatment. Fusogens, fusion processes including membrane fusion were discussed.

        The authors analyzed relative growth of body length, body weight, breast circumference and head circumference of Korean infant by way of relative growth formula of Huxley and Teissier. The results were as follows: 1) In male, body weight was positive allometry while breast circumference and head circumference showed negative allometry to body length. 2) In female, they were as similar as in boys. 3) The relative growth of every portion of female was negative allometry to male.
