Colonoscopy is a safe and extremely popular diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. The most common complications are bleeding and perforation. Hemoperitoneum is a rare complication after a colonoscopy and is usually associated with splenic injury or solid organ pathology. This is potentially serious and can be life threatening. With the increasing number of colonoscopies performed, there has also been an increasing trend in reports of rare complications, such as pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum, appendicitis, small bowel perforation, septicemia, mesenteric tear, retroperitoneal abscess, and hemoperitoneum. This paper reports a unique case of hemoperitoneum after a recent colonoscopy without a splenic rupture or intra-abdominal abnormality, or external trauma. Most hemoperitoneum occurs within 48 hours after the inciting colonoscopy. In the present case, however, hemoperitoneum appeared 10 days after the colonoscopy. This case emphasizes that physicians should consider hemoperitoneum in a differential diagnosis of abdominal pain in patients after colonoscopy. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2020;76:246-250)

This paper presents a machinability evaluation of Inconel 718 material when using a new uniform-temperature indirect cooling method that incorporates constant-pressure liquid nitrogen (LN2). The flank wear of a TiAlN coated tool used with this indirect cooling system was much lower than that of the tool used with dry machining under all machining conditions. Also, the surface roughness resulting from machining with this indirect method was far less than that of a dry machined surface after the same cutting time. Reduced heat generation and uniform temperature in turning operations play important roles in tool life and surface quality.

The industrial safety helmets are personal protective equipment (PPE), used to protect the head against falls from a height. This study indicated the necessity of wearing a safety helmet while working at heights below 4 m, through analysis of fall accidents occurring in the industrial field. The stress, displacement, and strain of the safety helmet shell structure have been analyzed using the finite element method with various thicknesses, engineering plastics, and designs. It was preferred that the safety helmet shell structure had a reinforcement frame of uniform thickness in terms of increased impact strength and strain energy absorption rate. The thickness can be reduced to lighten the total weight for workers wearing safety helmets.
황금비율과 미적 관점에서 본 아시아 종족의 귀에 대한 해부학적 연구

사람 몸에서 황금비율을 보이는 여러 구조들 중에서 귀를 선택하여 비율을 확인하였다. 조사 대상은 태국, 미얀마, 중국 고산지역의 동남아시아 종족인 아카족, 라후족 및 한국인을 대상으로 하여 생체 얼굴 옆면사진을 촬영한 후 귓불을 포함한 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우로 나누어 귀의 가로길이와 세로길이를 측정하였다. 귀둘레(helix) 비율은 귀조가비(auricular concha)를 시작점으로 하여 귀둘레(helix)를 따라 곡선으로 표시한 후 곡선을 포함하는 사각형을 작도한 후 사각형을 분할하였다. 분할된 사각형을 파이매트릭스(Phi-matrix software, version 1.1)를 이용하여 계측하여 각각의 비율을 조사한 결과 귀둘레(helix) 곡선의 비율과 귓불을 제외한 귀의 윤곽의 가로 세로비율은 오차범위 이내에서 황금비를 따르는 것으로 나타났으며 귓불을 포함시킨 경우 각 개인별 귓불 길이에 의한 비율이 다르게 나타났다. We observed and measured the structures showing the golden ratio in human body. Southeast Asian tribes, Aka and Lahu who live in Thailand, Miyanmar and China mountain areas and Koreans were examined by means of facial photography. The pictures of lateral facial view were taken by the fixed method. Then the length and width of auricles were measured by Phi-matrix software (version 1.1) on the scanned images. Helix ratio were also obtained by the same method. As a results, the ratio of the ear of Southeast Asian tribes showed the golden ratio and the racial and the individual differences were noticed a little.
