        Rhodococcus sp. EH831에 의한 벤젠, 톨루엔 및 에틸벤젠의 호기성 생분해에 미치는 에탄올의 영향

        The usage of ethanol (EtOH)-blended gasoline (gasohol), has been increasing in recent years. EtOH has influence on the distribution and biodegradation of aromatic compounds such as BTEX (benzene (B), toluene (T), ethylbenzene (B), and xylene (X)) that are gasoline compositions. In this study, the effect of EtOH on the aerobic biodegradation of B, T and E was investigated using a BTEX and EtOH-degrading bacterium, Rhodococcus sp. EH831. The degradation rates of B in the conditions of 1:1, 1:4, and 1:0.25 mixtures with EtOH (B:EtOH, mol:mol) were ranged from $3.82{\pm}0.20$ to $5.00{\pm}0.37{\mu}mol{\cdot}g-dry$ cell wight $(DCW)^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$. The degradation rate of T was the fastest in the 1:0.25 mixture ($6.63{\pm}0.06{\mu}mol{\cdot}g-DCW^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$), and it was the lowest in the 1:4 mixture ($4.41{\pm}0.04{\mu}mol{\cdot}DCW^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$). The degradation rates of E were increased with increasing the addition amount of EtOH: The degradation rate of E was the highest in the 1:4 mixture ($1.60{\pm}0.03{\mu}mol{\cdot}g-DCW^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$), and the rates were $1.42{\pm}0.06$, $1.30{\pm}0.01$, and $1.01{\pm}0.30{\mu}mol{\cdot}g-DCW^{-1}{\cdot}h^{-1}$ in the 1:1, 1:0.25, 1.0 mixtures, respectively. In conclusion, the biodegradation of B, T, E by Rhodococcus sp. EH831 was not significantly inhibited by the co-existence of EtOH.

        실리콘 중공 가스켓의 구조적 특성에 관한 연구

        In this paper, the deformed shape, the contact forces and the load-displacement curves of the real hollow gasket made of silicon rubber are analyzed using a commercial finite element program MARC. In the numerical analysis, the silicon rubber is assumed to have the properties of the geometric and material nonlinearity and the incompressibility, and the hyperelastic constitutive relations of that material are represented by the generalized Mooney-Rivlin and Ogden models. The outer frictional contact between the hollow gasket and the groove of rigid container and the inner self-contact of the hollow gasket are taken into account in the course of numerical computation. Experiments are also performed to obtain the material data for numerical computation and to show the validity of the mechanical deformation of the hollow gasket, resulting in good agreements between them.

        한국 현대시에 나타난 ‘달마’

        Dharma is a monk from India who lived his life in China. He is a well-known figure in north-east Asia who was respected as the first founder of Chinese Zen. It is true that some are doubtful of whether he is real, but the Buddhist tradition of Chinese Zen could not be established without his coming to China. The fact that Dharma's Zen could widely bloom in China shows that his thoughts and discipline were second to none and agreeable to the Chinese at that time. The Chinese were greatly stimulated by the coming of Zen which seemed exotic to them, so Dharma's Zen Thought was not influenced by the change of age and could keep maintaining its discipline. Two Korean poets wrote consecutive poetry with a kind of topic about Dharma.! Choi, Dong-he talked about the significance of life Buddhism and practical philosophy by means of a series of poems with a subtitle 'Why did Dharma come east?' Lee, Jung-woo saw Dharma not as a mysterious Zen master in the field of Buddhism, but as a real being, and he explored himself as Dharma who tried to seek for Buddhist laws through the act of writing poetry. Dharma, in this way, is a living figure in our life.

        1920년대 초기 문예동인지의 시에 나타난 감성 연구

        An overall review of Korean poetry literature in the 1920s centrally from literary coterie magazines concludes that it largely shows 'romantic emotion' and 'decadent tendency.' The truth is, however, western romanticism had no influence on the poets from this land in the early 1920s. If poets who studied in Japan read Blake or Wordsworth by any chance, we might think about such a possibility, but no evidence for it was found yet. Although some of the works by Byron and Verlain were translated by domestic coterie magazines, they were far from 'decadent tendency.' Looking back at 162 poems from 15 different coterie magazines, such as Changcho vol. 9, Baekcho vol. 3, Pyehuh vol. 2, Post-Pyehuh vol. 1 etc., I find that there were surprisingly more poetry with bright images than with dark images. So the existing criticism on them, in which poetry in the literary coterie magazines of the 1920s are named "pathetic and pale literature of appreciation" or "decadent tendency," might be appropriate for some poetry, but not for all poetry. I reviewed works with bright images here, rather than with dark images which have been discussed a lot so far. As a result, among the literary works of the 1920s, I find that there are a large number of poems dreaming 'hope' and 'yearning,' praising the sun and power, and future-oriented and dynamic ones. The qualities of these works are comparable to those of the poems with dark images mentioned before. In particular, Baek Chul's and Cho Yeonhyun's review on the poetry of the 1920s turned our to be the outcome of prejudice for the most part. In conclusion, despite the fact that about half of the 162 poems in the literary coterie magazines of the 1920s are evidently based upon the emotions of 'hope' and 'yearning,' the study on the poems proved to have been neglected. In this sense, I believe that the 1920s in the history of Korean poetry literature needs to be explored from now on, entirely from a new point of view.

        내부 기체의 온도 변화에 따른 극저온 냉각기용 소형 금속 벨로우즈의 변형에 관한 연구

        벨로우즈는 줄-톰슨 소형 극저온 냉각기에서 온도조절장치로 사용하는 중요한 부품이다. 벨로우즈는 매우 얇은 쉘로 제작되었으며 내부는 질소기체로 충전되어 있다. 또한 재료는 니켈-코발트 합금이며 이 재질은 300℃에서 극저온까지 탄성계수와 강도가 변하지 않는 금속이다. 벨로우즈 내부의 기체는 온도가 바뀌면 기체의 압력과 부피가 변하고 결과적으로 벨로우즈가 길이 방향으로 수축 또는 팽창한다. 이 현상을 해석하기 위하여 주어진 온도에서 기체의 상태방정식이 만족될 때까지 수정된 압력하에서 벨로우즈의 변형과 변형된 내부 체적을 반복적으로 계산하였다. 현 연구에서 기체의 온도-부피-압력 상태를 정의하는 식으로 MBWR 상태 방정식이 채택되었다. 제안한 해석 방법론의 타당성을 증명하기 위하여 실험을 수행하였고 비교결과 수치 해는 실험값과 잘 일치하였다. A bellows is an important temperature control component in a Joule-Thomson micro-cryocooler. It is designed using a very thin shell, and the inside of the bellows is filled with nitrogen gas. The bellows is made of a nickel-cobalt alloy that maintains its strength and elastic properties in a wide range of temperatures from cryogenic to 300℃. The pressure of the gas and the volume within the bellows vary according to the temperature of the gas. As a result, the bellows contracts or expands in the axial direction like a spring. To explore this phenomenon, the deformation of the bellows and its internal volume must be calculated iteratively under a modified pressure until the state equation of the gas is satisfied at a given temperature. In this paper, the modified Benedict-Webb-Rubin state equation is adopted to describe the temperature-volume-pressure relations of the gas. Experiments were performed to validate the proposed method. The results of a numerical analysis and the experiments showed good agreement.

        한국 생태시의 현주소 : 시인 최종진론

        Choi Jong-jin is a poet residing in agricultural area, who began his career as a poet in 1997. So he shows weakness that his work fails in obtaining logical approach to ecological environment matters, though he has strength that he focuses on poetry with real senses. This paper pointed out that Choi centered on searching for lyricism in his early work, but since he became interested in ecological environment matters, he has admired nature and criticized civilization, based upon the simple and clear dichotomy in thinking. It also pointed out that his thinking of admiring the old days and negating the present is not desirable. As the 21st century approaches, the poet converts his passive countermove into the active way of thinking when he faces various matters of ecological environment. The thing is that he started to grope for practical methods while thinking about what we should do in order to improve ecological conditions. He is silently putting pressure on us to actively intervene in this tragic situation, not remaining passive on the matters of environmental pollution and ecological destruction. From the year 2004, he searches for a change again. He starts to reveal his dream about the world where the nature and human beings live together, not fighting. It is from the year 2004 that the poet's assertion that nature should maintain its most natural state in order for all life in the nature and human beings to live together was established. Choi Jong-jin, who published his work as many as 15 times in 『Green Criticism』, is not releasing his work for two years so far since his poem in September-October issue in 2005. It seems that he is groping in the dark, which might be the preparatory stage for another change of his poetic world.
