When geometric data is transferred from one system to another system and tessellated for tool-path generation, the transferred model is commonly represented as an incomplete 2-manifold model which does not have any topological data between surfaces. By the way, there are some problems in generating tool-path with an incomplete 2-manifold model. One of them is to find the relation between surfaces and to offset nonoverlapped edges and vertices of those surfaces. Therefore, this paper presents the efficient edge and vertex offset method using collision determination, relation of sets and surface mapping.

In this thesis, a speed control algorithm using the observer is proposed for the high performance speed control of a 3-phase induction motor driven by a voltage source inverter. The proposed system becomes robust against disturbances by means of a feed-forward control of the load disturbance component estimated by the load disturbance observer. And also, for better estimation, we added phase compensator to the observer. Computer simulations and experimental works which compared proposed algorithm with the conventional PI control method showed that transient response for the variation of load torque becomes improved.

Digital power supply controller using the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) has been developed over the years. Recently, full digital power supply controller has been studied and tested. A new digital controller is designed under 3U euro-standard size and provides quiet better overall performance characteristics than the standards of ± 5 ppm short-term stability (< 1 min) and ± 25 ppm long-term stability (< 12 hours). The digital controller adopted digital PID current control algorithm with single pole digital filter and feed-forward voltage ripple compensation loop. By implementation of the digital controller, it has the ability of high step resolution (150 ps) Digital Pulse Width Modulation (DPWM) for FET or IGBT switch drivers and high resolution (18-bit, 400 kSPS/2 MSPS) analogue to digital conversion for current and voltage signal measurement. In this paper, the hardware and software structures of the developed digital controller and experimental results of digital power supply are described.

MIP 2000 is a portable equipment being able to measure and analyze combustion state of 2 stroke or 4 stroke diesel engines by using high pressure sensors in the diesel engines. It is capable of analyzing data, indexing the engine performance, such as Pmax, Pcomp, Power, RPM, MIP, Load, unbalanced force, and Trend. MIP 2000 is a high-tech engine performance analyzer. The data can also be pulled out in Windows programs.

A scaffolding structure is a temporary framework of metal poles and planks, used as a working platform from which building repairs or construction can be carried out. The working platform is the structural element which keeps the feature where the thickness is very thin in different size. In this study, it is attempted to find out the shape of working platform using the finite element analysis, and it reduces production process. The design factors are thickness and area of the working platform. The commercial FEM program, ANSYS, was used for structural analysis for the shape. As a result of the shape design, stress value and deflection considering a safety factor were satisfied with CTEA(Construction Temporary Equipment Association of Korea) standard.
