Recently, to reduce driver"s workload, multimodal user interfaces including voice and gesture recognition functions have been introduced to intelligent vehicles. However, the non-contact input methods are vulnerable to environmental conditions such as noise and light. To enhance their accuracy, in this paper, we proposed a complementary intelligent method to infer driver’s intention for the operation of in-vehicle equipment. To this end, first, on controlling in-vehicle equipment, the driver’s voice, video and physiological signals and the vehicle state information were collected through various sensors and ports of a driving simulator. Next, a set of selected machine learning algorithms including decision tree, Bayesian network, support vector machine, and multilayer perceptron approaches were trained using the collected data. Finally, the most efficient algorithm were selected by comparing their accuracy and performance.

Preventing false alarms of various warning systems and supporting defensive driving for surrounding vehicles with unexpected maneuvers such as sudden cutting in front of the host vehicle are important for driver"s safety. In this paper, driver"s lane-change behaviors were observed and his lane-change intention was predicted using machine learning algorithms. For this purpose, we measured the driver"s behavior such as eye glance and head rotation, bio-signals such as heart rate, vehicle"s data such as directions and accelerations, and environment data such as road curvature and distances to surrounding vehicles. Then, we optimized a set of the attributes, analyzed the performance of the machine learning algorithms, and selected the most efficient one from them.

1980년대 이후 본격적으로 추진된 낙후지역 개발정책은 수도권 집중을 완화하고 전 국토의 균형발전을 목표로 하였으나 지방을 종합적 체계적으로 육성하기보다는 중앙부처별로 소관업무를 분산하여 추진함으로써 지역특성이 반영되고 지역주민이 주도하는 수요자 맞춤형 개발이 이루어지지 못한 문제를 안고 있다. 이러한 문제인식 하에 본 연구는 현재 각 부처별로 시행되고 있는 주요 낙후지역 개발정책들에 대하여 지방자치단체 공무원들이 인식하는 다양한 문제점과 개선대책에 대한 조사를 통해 지역 현장에서 활용가능한 정책적 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 첫째, 각 중앙부처별로 분산적 개별적으로 추진되고 있는 낙후지역 개발정책의 통합 조정을 통한 지역개발사업의 계획 일관성 및 사업추진의 효율성을 제고할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 낙후지역 개발사업을 위한 재정 확충 및 운용시스템 개선 등 국고지원을 위한 기준의 합리적 설정이 필요하다. 셋째, 효율적인 지역개발사업 추진체계를 구축하여 사업간의 연계협력 강화와 맞춤형 사업 발굴 및 집행을 지원할 수 있는 제도적 보완이 필요하다. This paper examines the characteristics and status of the major development policies for under-developed region by ministries and studies how the awareness or perspective of public officials on such policies impact the policy environment. This paper aims to redefine the goal and strategy of regional development policy so that it can effectively contribute to enhancing the quality of life of residents and improving competitiveness of the region. The problems and improvement direction found out through a documentational and practical research on the development policy for underdeveloped region can be summarized as follows: Firstly, more streamlined and integrated policies which are currently fragmented being implemented by different ministries are needed to enhance the effectiveness of policy execution. Secondly, improvements on the process of securing government funding and operating systems are needed to guarantee the rational standard of providing state subvention, the expansion of comprehensive subsidy and the independence of policy execution. Thirdly, amendments on the policy measures are needed to support the development and execution of the customized projects, strengthen cooperation among those projects by establishing a system for effective regional development project.

This study were conducted to investigate the viability and germination of dehisced Panax ginseng seeds stored for long period in the storage chamber with 5℃ and 30% humudity. The staining reaction times for viability test were 150 min, 90 in, 60 min at 0.1%, 0.5% and 1% triphenyltetrazolim chloride(TTC), respectively. the more the storage period, the less the healthy seeds ratio. It was 96.6%, 89.2%,63.4% for 1-year storage, 7-years storage, 9-years storage, respectively. Germination ratio were 84.0%, 80.5%, 73.5%, 2.5% for 1-year storage, 6-years storage, 7-years storage and 9-years storage, respectively. Therefore it was confirmed that ginseng seed can be stored up to 6-7 years.

Eosinophilic lung diseases are a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by eosinophilic pulmonary infiltrates and, commonly peripheral blood eosinophilia. A vast number of drugs have been associated with eosinophilic pneumonia and drug reactions are one of the most commonly reported causes of pulmonary infiltrates with blood and/or alveolar eosinophilia. Nickel exposure may occur in occupations including nickel maker, nickel smelters, stainless steel makers, battery makers, electroformer, electroplater, refining operations etc, and has been associated with an increased risk of lung and nasal cancers. Nickel dust has been reported to induce eosinophilic pneumonia, infrequently. We experienced a case of nickel-induced eosinophilic pneumonia in a 55 years old male patient who has been working at a stainless press factory for 25 years until retirement at January 1998. He complained of dry cough and exertional dyspnea, and presented peripheral eosinophilia and multiple small nodular opacities on chest radiograph. Pathological examination of open lung biopsy revealed diffuse vasculitis involving variable-sized vessels with diffuse infiltration of inflammatory cells, particulary eosinophils. Nickel concentration measured from two dried lung tissue was 39.66 ㎍/g and 25.14 ㎍/g, respectively.(Korean J Med 58:102-106, 2000)

Cryptococcosis has been considered as an opportunistic mycosis associated with depressed immune function of the host. However, it may develop in healthy individuals without any underlying disease. Recently, we experienced a case of pulmonary cryptococcosis in healthy person. The patient had experienced hemoptysis and dry cough persisted for a month. The chest X-ray and CT showed multifocal pneumonic consolidation containing small cavities in RLL, LUL and LLL. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy didn't revealed endobronchial lesion in both lungs. Transbronchial lung biopsy(TBLB) was done, and we could diagnose pulmonary cryptococcosis by means of histopathologic examination. Clinical evaluations did not reveal immune deficiency or evidence of other specific disease. The patient was treated with fluconazole and resulted in clinical and radiological improvement. Cryptococcosis has well known for its meningeal involvement. Although primary pulmonary cryptococcosis is rare, we must think of it when meet mass or nodular lesion on the chest radiology.
