This research is concerned with a study on stress distribution and strength evaluation of thermoplastic resin using resistance welding. Tensile-shear tests were carried out with the single-lap resistance welded joined specimens consisting of thermoplastic resin. polypropylene(PP), polystyrene (PS) and polyetyrene(PE) were selected. Types of base material, diameter of heat element, voltage, current, electrified time and number of weld line are set on the parameters that govern the welding process and the principal phenomena that affect the quality of the joint. The test results were presented by tensile-shear strength and the experimental set-up and the main evaluation methods are also looked at in detail. The failure mechanism was discussed in order to explain the tensile-shear strength and stress distribution of resistance welding and the relationship between stress intensity and bonding strength properties were explained.

In this paper, we propose an efficient method to detect abrupt shot changes in a video sequence using an unsupervised clustering. Conventional clustering-based shot change detection algorithms use multiple features in order to overcome the shortcomings of a single feature. In such methods it is very important to determine the appropriate initial cluster centers well. In this paper we propose a modified k-means clustering algorithm which estimates the initial cluster center adaptively. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm works well. 본 논문에서는 클러스터링을 이용해서 급격한 장면 전환을 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 장면 전환검출 기법에서 많이 사용되는 특징들은 특별한 상황에서만 잘 적용된다는 단점이 있기 때문에 여러 종류의 특징을 동시에 고려하는 클러스터링 기반의 기법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 이 경우에는 클러스터의 초기 중심을 정하는 것이 중요한 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 k-평균 클러스터링에서의 초기 중심을 적응적으로 바꾸면서 장면 전환 존재 여부를 결정하도록 하였다. 실험 결과 초기 클러스터 중심이 고정된 경우에 비해서 더 좋은 결과를 얻었다.

본 논문에서는 임의의 모양을 가지는 영상 객체(image object)에 적용 가능한 모양적응 이산변환(PSADT : Polar coordinates shape adaptive discrete transform)에 기반한 새로운 워터마킹 기법을 제안한다. 대수-극 좌표계(log-polar coordinates)와 모양적응 이산변환을 이용하여 제안된 기법은 MPEC-4의 VOP와 같은 임의의 모양을 가지는 영상 객체에 적용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 기존 기법에 비하여 회전과 크기 변화와 같은 기하학적인 공격에 대하여 우수한 강인성을 제공한다. In this paper, we propose a new image-watermarking scheme lot arbitrarily shaped object based on Polar coordinates Shape Adaptive Discrete Transform (PSADT). Using log-polar coordinates conversion and shape adaptive discrete transform, the proposed watermarking method can be applied to any arbitrarily shaped image-object such as MPEG-4 VOP and is much more robust to geometrical attacks such as rotation and scaling than the conventional methods.

The disputes due to floor noise in apartments have become a major social problem over the past few years. Unlike with high-cost and long-term solutions such as developing new noise attenuation techniques and tightening up the construction-related legislation, a method of conflict mediation among residents can be a cost-effective and immediately applicable solution. Since the floor vibration alarm system can support the mediation process by providing objective data on human-induced floor vibration; in this study, a study on the self-powered wireless system for floor vibration alarm was performed. The vibration-based piezoelectric energy harvester was first fabricated based on the vibration level measured on the bare slab, which is installed on the top of the reverberation room. Through excitation tests using an impact ball and a bang machine, the correlation among harvested electric energy from the energy harvester, slab vibration and sound pressure level measured in reverberation room was analyzed. The test results show that they are highly correlated at the design frequency. The prototype of the wireless floor vibration alarm system utilizing the energy harvester was manufactured and the feasibility was checked and demonstrated.
