        The main purpose of this study is the modeling of older adult's index finger to determine the dimensions of key buttons in the mobil phone for the older adult, since our previous result showed that the movement time of old persons was affected by the interaction of the moving distance and the button size[1]. Also, our preliminary observation of older adults showed a different switching activity from younger generation. It requires that the dimension of button for easy dialing and switching mechanism of button for feedback of switching are needed further study, since the operation time of older people is related to the size of button and operation distance. The previous our results showed the operational time increased as reducing the button size or expanding of the operational distance[2,3]. However their is no available data nor quantitative data in several guidelines for developing universal products. Most of guidelines suggest that the bigger switch and the larger size font are better for older adults, but the minimized size of mobile phone does not mean more comfort. That suggests the size of button in universal mobile phone needs to be optimized to satisfy the demand of universal design or older adults. Total 60 of above 65 older adults, 20 in the biggest city, 20 in the medium city, 20 in the rural agricultural area, participated in our investigation for modeling their index finger. 95 percentile of the effective width for index fingers of them was 6.94mm and 99 percentile was 7.49mm. The effective width suggests that the area of a certain key button has to be occupied by itself without any superimposing of any another key button. The result shows that the minimum of touching region of the pushed button is the circle with the diameter of 7.49mm at least and this reason has to be a physical interference free from the other key button or the structural configuration.

        자동 운량 관측에서 전천 영상 보정이 관측치에 미치는 효과

        Various studies have been conducted on cloud observation using all-sky images acquired with a wide-angle camera system since the early 21st century, but it is judged that an automatic observation system that can completely replace the eye observation has not been obtained. In this study, to verify the quantification of cloud observation, which is the final step of the algorithm proposed to automate the observation, the cloud distribution of the all-sky image and the corrected image were compared and analyzed. The reason is that clouds are formed at a certain height depending on the type, but like the retina image, the center of the lens is enlarged and the edges are reduced, but the effect of human learning ability and spatial awareness on cloud observation is unknown. As a result of this study, the average cloud observation error of the all-sky image and the corrected image was 1.23%. Therefore, when compared with the eye observation in the decile, the error due to correction is 1.23% of the observed amount, which is very less than the allowable error of the eye observation, and it does not include human error, so it is possible to collect accurately quantified data. Since the change in cloudiness due to the correction is insignificant, it was confirmed that accurate observations can be obtained even by omitting the unnecessary correction step and observing the cloudiness in the pre-correction image.

      • 반도체 장비의 원격 모니터링을 위한 임베디드 웹 서버

        A remote monitoring system of the semiconductor equipment is used to monitor or control operations of the equipment. Most of the conventional monitoring systems are based on the client-server model with the general purpose PC. Basically, it implies the difficulties in the system reliability and cost down due to its size and complexity. To overcome these difficulties, we suggest an embedded web server which is based on the low-cost microprocessor. It is designed for the monitoring or controlling a dedicated equipment only. To evaluate the feasibility of the suggested embedded web server, we have implemented a test-board with ATMega103 and programmed the basic modules using the AVR-GCC. Finally, we have tested its operations on the MS Explorer 6.0 environment.

        본 연구에서는 반도체 장비 모니터링을 위하여 로컬 시스템, 서버 시스템, 클라이언트 시스템을 임베디드 시스템으로 부분 구성하여 클라이언트/서버 개념에서 취약한 안정성, 시스템 관리에 따른 문제점, 원가 상승과 설치 공간의 문제점을 개선 및 보완하였다. 본 연구에서는 반도체 장비 모니터링 시스템의 안정성 확보를 위한 임베디드 모니터링 시스템의 하드웨어와 이를 제어하기 위한 소프트웨어 핵심 기술 개발이며, 이를 위해 임베디드 모니터링 시스템의 핵심이 되는 감시/제어용 하드웨어 모듈과 임베디드 운영체제, 부가적인 관련 응용프로그램을 개발한다.

        연무에 강한 구름 판독 알고리즘

        Clouds in the atmosphere are important variables that affect the temperature change by reflecting the radiant energy of the earth surface as well as changing the amount of sunshine by reflecting the sun's radiation energy. Especially, the amount of sunshine on the surface is very important It is essential information. Therefore, eye-observations of the sky on the surface of the earth have been enhanced by satellite photographs or relatively narrowed observation equipments. Therefore, cloud automatic observing systems have been developed in order to replace the human observers, but depending on the seasons, the reliability of observations is not high enough to be applied in the field due to pollutants or fog in the atmosphere. Therefore, we have developed a cloud observation algorithm that is robust against smog and fog. It is based on the calculation of the degree of aerosol from the all-sky image, and is added to the developed cloud reader to develop season- and climate-insensitive algorithms to improve reliability. The result compared to existing cloud readers and the result of cloud cover is improved. 대기 중의 구름은 태양의 복사에너지를 반사하여 일조량을 변화시킬 뿐만 아니라 고 지표면의 복사에너지를 반사 시켜 기온 변화에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수이며, 특히 지표면의 일조량은 태양에너지를 활용하는 산업분야에서 매우 중요한 필수 정보이다. 따라서 지표면에서 하늘의 관측은 현재까지 목측이 일반적인 방법이며 위성사진이나 상대적으로 관측 범위가 좁은 장비들을 사용하여 보완하는 실정이다. 따라서 목측을 대체할 운량의 관측에서 자동 관측 시스템을 위한 알고리즘이 개발되었으나 계절에 따라 대기 중의 오염물질이나 안개 등으로 관측치의 신뢰도가 현장에서 적용될 만큼 높지 않다. 따라서 연무에 강한 운량 관측 알고리즘을 개발하였으며 이는 전천 영상으로부터 연무 정도를 계산하여 수치화하고 개발된 구름판독기에 추가하여 계절과 기후에 둔감한 알고리즘을 개발하여 기존의 구름판독기와 비교하여 신뢰도를 향상시킴을 확인하였다.

        그라프트된 폴리프로필렌이 폴리프로필렌/나이론 66 블랜드의 물성에 미치는 영향

        Compatibility and properties of PP/N66 blends with or without PP-g-MAH as a compatibilizer were investigated by DSC, SEM and universal testing machine. Morphological studies revealed that PP and N66 were incompatible and addition of PP-g-MAH was very effective to enhance the compatibility between PP and N66. The compatibilization effect between N66 and PP-g-MAH was based on the reaction between the amine end group of N66 and anhydride group in PP-g-MAH. The crystallization and melting behavior of PP/N66 blends were investigated and the results of analyses for enthalpy changed were discussed. The Izod impact strength could be improved by optimizing the compatibilizer concentration. Tensile strength, elongation at break, notched Izod impact strength were increased with using compatibilizer, however, both the compatibilized and the noncompatibilizer blends did not show any big difference in the flexural modulus.

        파동형 Nd:YAG 레이저조사가 인체 치은조직의 미세구조에 미치는 영향

        Since laser therapy has been applied to dentistry, many dental practitioners are very interested in laser therapy on various intraoral soft tissue lesions including gingival hyperplasia and aphthous ulcer. The purpose of the present study was to determine the therapeutic effect and the harmful effect of a pulsed-Nd:YAG laser irradiation on human gingival tissue. In twenty periodontal patients with gingival enlargement, the facial gingival surface of maxillary anterior teeth was randomly irradiated at various power of 1.0W(100mJ, 10Hz), 3.0W(100mJ, 30Hz) and 6.0W(l50mJ, 40Hz) for 60 seconds by contact delivery of a pulsed-Nd:YAG laser(EN.EL.EN060, Italy). Immediately after laser irradiation, the gingival tissues were surgically excised and prepared in size of 1mm3. Subsequently the specimens were processed for prefixation and postfixation, embedded with epon mixture, sectioned in $1{\mu}$ thickness, stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate, and observed under transmission electron microscope(JEM 100 CXII). Following findings were observed; l. In the gingival specimens irradiated with l.OW power, widening of intercelluar space and minute vesicle formation along the widened intercellular space were noted at the epithelial cells adjacent to irradiated area. 2. In the gingival specimens irradiated with 3.0W power, the disruption of cellular membrane, aggregation of cytoplasm, and loss of intercellular space were observed at the epithelial cells adjacent to irradiated area. 3. In the gingival specimens irradiated with 6.0W power, the disruption of nuclear and cellular membrane was observed at the epithelial cells adjacent to irradiated area. The ultrastructural findings of this study suggest that surgical application of a pulsed-Nd:YAG laser on human gingival tissue may lead somewhat delayed wound healing due to damage of epithelial cells adjacent to irradiated area.
