비색법을 이용한 세균학적 우식활성검사의 우식예측력에 관한 종단적 추적연구

The caries predictive ability of the modified Alban's test and the acidic high-sucrose liquid medium test were studied longitudinally. The subjects of study were 306 primary school children and follow-up studies were carried out for 2 years. The caries predictive ability was evaluated by analyzing the validity of test, potentiality as a quantitative test, and the comparative value with respect to other caries activity test. Validity of test was evaluated by setting the validating criterion of high caries activity group to 3 kinds of criteria, such as more than I new DdFfT, to calculate sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, hit ratio, and difference with proportional chance criterion. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The optimal screening criterion of modified Alban's test was 96 hours incubation test value, I and the sensitivity at this time was 0.86; specificity, 0.25; predictive value, 0.74, and hit ratio, 0.68, while the difference with proportional chance criterion was 0.09. In addition, the optimal screening criterion of the acidic high-sucrose liquid medium test was 96 hours incubation test value, 4.9, and the sensitivity at this time was 0.93; specificity, 0.25; predictive value, 0.66, and hit ratio, 0.68, while the difference with proportional chance criterion was 0.14. 2. The hit ratio of prediction made on high caries activity group based on past caries experience was higher than that of prediction made based on modified Alban's test, but lower than that of acidic high-sucrose liquid medium test. Consistency ratio between the results of judgement made on high caries activity group using the past caries experience as the predictive variables and the results of judgment made on modified Alban's test was 84%, while consistency ratio with the results of judgement made on acidic high-sucrose liquid medium test was 79%.
세치제가 Streptococcus mutans의 자당 발효에 미치는 영향에 관한 생체의 연구

Thirteen cream type dentifrices were selected for the study. 1㎖ of each of them was dissolved in 100m8 of 5% sucrose solution. 1㎖ of streptococcus mutans 10449 cultured overnight in BHI broth was added as inoculum and then the mixture solution was incubated for 48hrs at 37℃. At 24 and 48hrs, the pH of the solution was measured by pH meter. All dentifrices had basic pH ranging from 7.40 to 8.79. A dentifrice which contained Zinc Citrate showed the most effective inhibition upon sucrose fermentation by S. mutans. The inital pH was 7.97 and the the final pH was 721. Another dentifrice which contained phosphate ions showed the most effective inhibition during the frist 24hrs, and inhitory effect was considered to be from the buffering action of phosphate ions. A dentifrices which contained hydroxyapatite and no fluoride showed the least inhibition, and the final pH was 4.76. Most dentifrifrices showed some effect against pH drop, and the inhibitory effect was considered to be from the fluoride and the basic pH of the dentifrices.

There is increased interest in clothes dryers and garments made of spandex-blend woven fabrics; however, there is limited information available for the laundering and drying these clothes. This study investigates the effects of washing and drying on shrinkage, skewness, and wrinkle for woven fabrics with and without spandex. When spandex with good elastic recovery was blended, the deformed shape from washing and drying improved skewness and wrinkle by easily returning to its original shape. However, these properties had a negative effect on shrinkage in terms of length and area change. When the influence of clothes maintenance was classified, the drying process had the biggest influence of 58%, followed by spinning-rinsing-washing. Tumble drying, in which the fabric is exposed to mechanical force and heat for a long period, had more negative effects on the dimensional stability than line drying. The spandex blend had the effect of preventing skewness and wrinkle in garments, but it was also shown to accelerate shrinkage by garment main-tenance cycles. It was important to control drying in order to reduce shrinkage during the maintenance pro-cess; consequently, this had the greatest influence on the dimensional stability of fabrics. Therefore, line dry-ing was more advantageous for spandex-blend fabrics than tumble drying in terms of management for shrin-kage, skewness, and wrinkle.
