GPU 를 이용한 입자 동역학과 다물체 동역학의 통합 해석

In this paper, dynamic simulation model which have a lot of sphere particles and MBD entities. Many sphere particles are solved with DEM technique and simulated on GPU board in PC. Fast algorithm is applied to calculate hertzian contact forces between many sphere particles and NVIDIA’s CUDA is used to accelerate the calculation speed. Explicit integration method is applied to solve the many spheres. MBD entities are simulated with recursive formulation. Constraints are reduced by recursive formulation and implicit generalized alpha method is applied to solve dynamic model. The interaction forces between many sphere particles and rigid body mesh are calculated and applied to each body to simulate two parts simultaneously. As numerical example, water filled washing machine model and oil filled car model are represented, respectively.
NVIDIA 의 GPGPU 를 이용한 수 많은 구형 접촉 입자가 포함된 다물체 동역학 해석

본 연구에서는 수 많은 입자가 포함된 다물체 동역학 모델을 시뮬레이션 하여 그 결과를 도출하였다. 수 많은 입자들은 GPU 를 적용한 이산 요소법을 이용해 풀었다. 입자들의 Contact Force 를 계산하기 위해 Fast Algorithm 이 적용되었고 계산 속도 향상을 위해 NVIDIA 사의 CUDA 프로그래밍을 하였다. 입자들간의 계산은 Explicit 적분기가 사용되었으며 다물체 동역학은 순환 공식(Recursive Formulation)을 사용 하고 Implicit 적분기를 사용하였다. 입자들과 다물체 사이의 Contact Force 를 동시에 시뮬레이션 하기 위해서 입자동역학과 다물체 동역학의 통합해석을 할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 수치 실험의 예로서 화물트럭의 입자 영향을 알아 보기 위한 화물트럭 모델과 대부분의 동력 전달 장치에 사용되는 기어 모델을 시뮬레이션 하였다. In this study, a dynamic simulation model that considers many spherical particles and multibody dynamics (MBD) entities is developed. Plenteous spherical particles are solved using the Discrete Element Method (DEM) technique and simulated on a GPU board in a PC. A fast algorithm is used to calculate the Hertzian contact forces between many spherical particles, and NVIDIA CUDA is used to increase the calculation speed. The explicit integration method is applied to solve the many spheres. MBD entities are simulated by recursive formulation. Constraints are reduced by recursive formulation, and the implicit generalized alpha method is applied to solve the dynamic model. A new algorithm is developed to simulate the DEM and MBD models simultaneously. As a numerical example, a truck car model and gear model are developed. The results show that the proposed algorithm using a general-purpose GPU in a PC has many advantages.
기능성 압박의류 착용이 셀룰라이트 환자의 신체둘레, 피하지방두께 및 체구성에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study was to estimate the clinical efficacy of compression garments in cellulite patient. For achieving this purpose, we recuited patient with cellulite in the abdomen or thigh, grade 2 or more. 40 patients were divided into 2 groups - experimental group wearing compression garments and control group wearing non-compression garments of same shape. Each subject has worn experimental garments during 5 weeks, more than 4 hours a day. Evaluation included waist and thigh circumference, sonographic subcutaneous fat thickness measurement at the buttok and hip, body composition analysis and Quality of Life Scale at pre and post of 5 weeks` treatment. There were significant decrease on waist and thigh circumference, subcutaneous fat thickness at the buttock, body weight, BMI, body fat mass in experimental group, but there was no change on any variable in control group between initial and follow-up. These results suggested that wearing compression garments should be recommended as an effective method to reduce factors concerning obesity in cellulite patients.
미세전류발생기 착용이 슬관절 골관절염 환자의 통증 및 보행기능에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study was to estimate the clinical efficacy of microcurrent in patients with knee osteoarthritis. For archeving this purpose, we recuited elderly women with knee osteoarthritis, grade 1 to 3. All subjects were divided into 2 groups, experimental group(N=19) put on portable typed knee brace emit microcurrent and heat whereas control group(N=12) put on same typed knee brace emit only heat for 3 weeks, over 4 hours a day. Evaluation included Pain during stairs and Pain during walking using VAS for pain rating scale and Walking speed test, Step speed test and Timed up and go test for walking ability. There were significant improvement on pain rating scale in both group and on walking ability in only experimental group between initial and follow-up. These results suggest that microcurrent therapy should be recommended as an effective method to reduce pain and discomfort and develop walking ability in knee osteoarthritis patient.
