The purpose of this study was to estimate the clinical efficacy of compression garments in cellulite patient. For achieving this purpose, we recuited patient with cellulite in the abdomen or thigh, grade 2 or more. 40 patients were divided into 2 groups - experimental group wearing compression garments and control group wearing non-compression garments of same shape. Each subject has worn experimental garments during 5 weeks, more than 4 hours a day. Evaluation included waist and thigh circumference, sonographic subcutaneous fat thickness measurement at the buttok and hip, body composition analysis and Quality of Life Scale at pre and post of 5 weeks` treatment. There were significant decrease on waist and thigh circumference, subcutaneous fat thickness at the buttock, body weight, BMI, body fat mass in experimental group, but there was no change on any variable in control group between initial and follow-up. These results suggested that wearing compression garments should be recommended as an effective method to reduce factors concerning obesity in cellulite patients.

Determination of nerve conduction velocity is a simple diagnostic procedure to help evaluate pathology of peripheral nerve. Sensory conduction studies will supplement motor nerve studies and will be helpful judging the extent and location of the nerve injury. For comparison with findings in neuropathy, sensory conduction was studied in 119 healthy Korean, ranging from 3 to 68 years of age along the bilateral median, ulnar and radial nerves and normal values were established. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In 238 median nerves examined, mean values for conduction velocity, latency, amplitude, and duration of the evoked potentials were 61.0±6.9(45.5∼79.6) m/sec, 3.0±0.5(1.8∼4.6) msec, 44.1±20.4(10∼100) ㎶, and 1.2±0.4 (0.5∼3.0) msec, respectively. 2. In 238 ulnar nerves examined, mean values for conduction velocity, latency, amplitude, and duration of the evoked potentials were 62.8±8.7 (43.2∼87.8) m/sec, 3.0±0.7 (1.7∼4.9) msec, 39.3±24.5(5∼100) ㎶, and 1.2±0.5(0.5±3.0) msec, respectively. 3. In 164 radial nerves examined, mean values for conduction velocity, latency, amplitude, and duration of the evoked potentials were 63.6±8.5 (46.2∼86.5) m/sec, 2.7±0.8(1.8∼4.2) msec, 26.6±12.3(10∼85) ㎶, and 1.1±0.3(0.5∼2.0) msec, respectively. 4. No statistical variation was noted with advancing age in sensory conduction velocities, latencies, amplitudes, and durations of the evoked action potentials. 5. There was no significant sex difference in sensory conduction studies and also no difference in opposite extremities
