There are in The Grapes of Wrath sixteen interchapters making up almost one sixth of the novel. These interchapters have two main functions. First, by presenting the social background the most of them (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17. 19, 23, and 29 chapter) serve to amplify the pattern of action created by The Joad family. Second, by providing such historical information as the development of land ownership in California, the consequent development of migrant labor, and certain economic aspects of the social lag some of them (19, 21, and 25 chapter) serve to present the philosophy or social message to which the current situation gives rise. Like the structure of the philosophical passages in interchapters, the chapters" texture have its roots in the Old Testament. This Biblical texture is supported by a continuum of symbols and symbolic actions. The most pervasive symbolism is that of grapes. Still another important Biblical symbol is Jim Casy (Jesus Christ). As the Israelites received the new Law in their exodus, so the migrants develop the new laws. The families learned what rights must be observed. Through this supporting Biblical texture and context there are interwoven two opposing themes which make up the book"s plot. One of these, negative one, concerns itself with the increasingly straitened circumstances of the Joads. This negative or downward movement is balanced by the positive or upward movement. Although the primitive family unit is breaking up, the fragments are going to make up a large group. The climax is prepared for by the last interchapter with which the novel is brought full circle. The rain continues to fall; the truck and household goods must be abandoned; the little mud levee collapsed; Rosashan"s baby is born dead; the boxcar must be abandoned; they take to the highway in search of food and find instead a starving man. Then the miracle happens. As Rose of Sharon offers her breast to the old man, the novel"s two counterthemes are brought together in a symbolic paradox. Out of her own need she gives life; out of the profoundest depth of despair comes the greatest assertion of faith.

미국의 항공 산업 진입규제 완화 (1978년)에 따른 자유화에 의해 다자간 경쟁시장원리, 초국적 화에 따른 국적을 초월한 항공사업의 영역확대, 효율성 증진을 위한 공항의 민영화, 규모의 경제를 추구하는 항공사간 제휴, 기술개발에 따른 항공시장의 재편 등 현 항공시장은 거대한 격변기를 지나고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 자유화, 초국적화, 민영화, 항공사간 제휴, 기술개발 등은 세계항공시장에서 Hub-and-Spoke System의 빠른 발전을 가져왔다. Levine(1987)은 허브공항 점유에 의한 항공시장의 순수 경쟁을 통해 허브공항의 점유 변화를 소개했다. Borenstein(1989)은 공항 점유에 의한 공항 명칭 변경에 의해 이 현상을 증명하였다. Marin(1995)은 반면에 자유 노선 상에서 유럽 회사들 간의 가격 경쟁을 통한 가격 이점에 의해 허브공항 개척을 설명하면서 미국과의 차이점을 제기하였다. 또한 상기의 제시를 통해 경제적으로 건전한 항공 운영, 이용, 그리고 허브공항의 점유는 항공시장의 경쟁을 방해 할 것이라고 제시하였다.

Arthur Miller dealt with the tragedy without recognition himself the man who appeared in death of a saleman. It was based a problem that relation of society and individuality which separated from modern period. The portagonist in death of a salesman was the man who recovered through responsibility and loving of other people from beginning to the end. Miller wanted to show move improve through pain of life. Moden period crowded absurd and chaos which were try to find happiness and sucess of man. Even if he wanted to live through the death, but he didn't have variety. His death surprised event to us. Because he was common man like us. Arthur Miller's death of a salesman is a tragedy set in our own. Death of a salesman is a challenge to the American dream. The value of death of a salesman lies in the fact that it states its theme with penerating clarity in our ear of troubled complacency. The death of Arthur Miller's salesman is symbolic of the breakdown of the whole concept of salesmanship inherent in our society. Miller has written a play remarkably apposite to an aspect of American life, and the audiences that are held by it and the many playgoers who are moved to tears try him tribute of recognition. Willy is blind to the fundamental contradiction between his progress as a salesman and his self-realization as a man, and his blindness is almost allegorically reflected in his children.

관광영어의 효율적 교육방법에 관한 연구

Tourism English education is very important element for the foreigner to be satisfactory of korean tour. But our Tourism English education is not good enough to teach the students being the professional interpreter. Teaching several situational conversations for tourism places is recognized as the primary aim of tourism English education, which dosen't help student in reality. In order to improve our situations, the quality of professor, curricula of tourism and teaching method will have to be reformed. First of all, the concept of being interpreter have to be changed, because the most of people regards this subjects involving Tourism English education similar to subjects of the normal English conversation. To be English interpreter means to know knowledges of korean places and knowledges of tour. Tourism education centers or universities, were productive in cultivating the leading figures in tourism every year. To cultivate these qualified workers, education must be done on the premise of kindness and fluency with be done on the premise of kindness and fluency with foreigners. Fluent conversation between foreign tourists and workers in tourism can prepare the market for national tourism. these conversations would take place in English as most tourists can use this language.

영어교육과 관광영어교육의 관계연구

It is a well-known fact that the tourism is an industry that has a profound impact on the national economy. It has been loudly proclaimed that the 21st Century will be the era during which Korean image as a tourist country should highly be upgraded. In line with this, English has been taught to the employees of sight-seeing organizations to improve their ability to communicate with foreign visitors. Actually, however, interpreting ability of people engaged in tourism haven't been improved so much as anticipated due to failure of developing efficient teaching curricula for English. The purpose of this paper is, thus, to introduce a typical English teaching method and suggest a effective one to suit to our situation. In this study, theories and the needs to improve the English teaching methods for sight-seeing people are explored and introduced. In teaching English to the employees of tourism, it is desirable to use as text practical dialogues that are expected to occur in the actual situation and comply with the linguistic culture of tourists. It is also requested to teach English in consideration of peculiarities of tourism in addition to the basic knowledge about a language. In order to help them improve their abilities in conversation, the communication methodology should be utilized in the curricula for tourism English. Employees of the tourist's industry are in an important place to be able to advertise our country and, correspondingly, enhance the image of it. They should be taught, therefore, how to correctly introduce to the tourists the Korean original culture and cultural heritages so that Korea can get proper treatment commensurate with its status in the international society.
