The purpose of this study is developing a disaster prevention information system using Internet GIS to manage disaster information more efficiently and timely. This system has good potential with environment of Internet which has appropriate characteristics of rapidity, wide reach, generality, cost effectivity for disaster management. With this system, general user can easily retrieve disaster information with visuality such as maps. graphs, and texts just by using web browsers. Hence the need of developing Internet GIS system for disaster prevention is growing in these days.

There are many fatigue damages which are grown by mechanical load caused by the contact with rail and thermal load produced from the friction of brake for stopping in the wheel during service. Therefore, to assure the railway vehicle's safety, the three dimensional stress analysis of the wheel for railway rolling stock was evaluated. In this study, stress distribution under mechanical and thermal load through finite element analysis was investigated. Based on the result of the stress analysis, maximum stress of the wheel was estimated to 200MPa in the curvature part of plate. Moreover, the weak position of the wheel in service was the hub fillet, which was under bending stress state.

The lateral force causing the collapse of form-shore system during concrete placement occurs by eccentric loading due to concrete placement paths. For the resistance to the lateral force, nails should he used to Link the end of the shores to the upper form in actual construction sites, but workers generally don't use nails for only convenience ire removing the shores after construction. In this case, lateral force is resisted by frictional farce between form and shore. In this paper, the upper joints of shores considering these construction situations are modeled as contact problem. In particular, the program ADINA used in this study effectively performs the analysis including partially distributed loading due to concrete placement procedure and can consider various contact conditions.

In order to analyze nonlinear problems of a beam by the finite element method, the nonlinear term has been added to the Strain-displacement relations. And by the principles of energy, governing equation, which includes the incremental stiffness matrix has been derived. For the simple calculation, a cantilever beam has been treated and the governing equation is partitioned according to the boundary conditions. The deflection of the free end, the result of this study, is tabulated and plotted to compare with those of linear analysis. It is found that, for a equal increase of distributed load q, the increment of displacement from this study is much less than that of linear analysis.
