      • A study on photocatalytic behaviors of MWCNTs-embedded mesoporous titanium dioxide spheres

        In this study, the mesoporous anatase TiO2 spheres/MWCNTs nanocomposites were synthesized via sol-gel method and solvothermal process. As-prepared nanocomposites represented a large specific surface area (104-190 m2/g), occurrence of TiO2 in the anatase phase,and reduced band gap energy (from 3.30 eV to 2.08 eV). Photodegradations carried out for 2h using trichloroethylene as chlorinated volatile organic compound. The nanocomposites showed enhanced photocatalytic activity. In particular, the nanocomposites containing 20 wt.%MWCNTs exhibited the best photocatalytic efficiency and degradation rate compared to the other prepared-materials. The phenomenon was attributed that the nanocomposites improved adsorption capacity of pollutants, light absorption capability, electron-hole pair lifetime, and absorbance in visible light.

      • Preparation and characterization of N-doped TiO<sub>2</sub>-impregnated activated carbon fibers

        In this work, we have prepared activated carbon fibers (ACF) impregnated with N-doped TiO<sub>2</sub> via a simple sonochemical synthesis. The morphologies were observed by scanning elctron microscopy (SEM) measurements. The surface properties were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The textural properties were analyzed by N<sub>2</sub>/77 K adsorption/desorption isotherms. The photocatalytic activity was measured using rhodamine B as organic pollutant under visible light irradiation. Consequently the N-doped TiO<sub>2</sub>/ACF composites showed enhanced photocatalytic behaviors than P25. These results may be ascribed from the combined effect between the excellent adsorption properties of the ACF and the visible light photoactivity of the N-doped TiO<sub>2</sub>.

      • Mesoporous TiO<sub>2</sub> sphere with controllable pore size for photodegradation of methylene blue

        In this work, the mesoporous TiO<sub>2</sub> (M-TiO<sub>2</sub>) sphere was synthesized by solvothermal treatment with amorphous TiO<sub>2</sub> in ammonia solution. The surface morphology and structural properties of M-TiO<sub>2</sub> sphere was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The textural properties of the M-TiO<sub>2</sub> sphere studied were investigated using Brunauer-Emmette-Teller (BET) equation. The photocatalytic activities of M-TiO<sub>2</sub> sphere were tested using methylene blue (MB) solution under UV and visible light irradiation. From the result, the ammonia affects specific surface area and pore size of the samples. Also, it was apparent that photocatalytic activities of the M-TiO<sub>2</sub> sphere were higher than amorphous M-TiO<sub>2</sub> due to a higher specific surface area and controllable pore size.

        Influence of mesopore distribution on photocatalytic behaviors of anatase TiO2 spherical nanostructures

        Mesoporous anatase TiO2 spheres were synthesized via sol–gel and solvothermal processes usingammonia. The crystallite size was shown to increase with the increasing amount of aqueous ammoniaused, leading to a larger pore size. The mesopore volume of the materials reaches up to 0.308 cm3 g 1. The TiO2 spheres showed improved catalytic activity in organic dye photodegradation owing to theirhigh specific surface area, pore volume, and optimal pore size, which enable an increase of lightabsorption capability, as well as fast mass transfer by the optimal mesopore structure.

      • Preparation of activated carbon fibers impregnated with N-doped TiO _{2} for photodegradation of trichloroethylene

        In this work, activated carbon fibers (ACF) impregnated with N-doped TiO2 were prepared by a one-step sonochemical synthesis. The morphologies of the nanocomposites were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface features of samples was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The textural properties of samples were examined by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm at 77 K.The photodegradation efficiency was tested using trichloroethylene as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) under solar light irradiation. As a result, the composites showed better photocatalytic performance than that of bare ACF. This may be ascribed from the combined effect between the excellent adsorption properties of the ACF and the visible light photoactivity of the N-doped TiO2.

        대학생의 사회지향성과 폭식행동의 관계에서 고통 감내력의 매개효과

        This study aimed to examine the effect of sociotropy on binge eating behavior and the mediating effect of distress tolerance. For the study, a survey was conducted for 444 college students in Chungcheongbuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do, and Kyungsangnam-do using the Bulimia Test Revised (BULIT-R), Revised Personal Style Inventory-Ⅱ (PSI-Ⅱ), Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS), and Korean version of Beck Depression Inventory-Ⅱ (BDI-Ⅱ). The regression analysis was conducted in order to examine the effect of variables and the sobel test was calculated for verifying the mediating effect. The results of the study are as follows. First, the female had higher sociotropy and binge eating behavior than the male in contrast, the male had higher distress tolerance. Second, sociotropy had a significant effect on binge eating behavior after controlling for depression and gender. Third, distress tolerance had a significant effect on binge eating behavior after controlling for gender. Fourth, the mediating effect was validated in the relationship between sociotropy and binge eating behavior. This result shows that sociotropy has not only an effect on binge eating behavior in an indirect way, sociotropy has but also an effect on binge eating behavior through distress tolerance in a direct way. The result of this study suggests that treating distress tolerance would be more effective rather than treating the sociotropy itself alone, when intervening a sociotropic individual complaining about binge eating. Finally, the clinical implication and limitation of this study were discussed. 본 연구는 사회지향성, 고통 감내력 및 폭식행동의 관계를 밝히고 고통 감내력의 매개효과를 확인하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 충청북도, 충청남도 및 경상남도의 4년제 종합대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 444명을 대상으로 폭식증 검사 개정판(BULIT-R), 성격양식 질문지(PSI-Ⅱ), 고통 감내력 척도(DTS), 한국판 Beck 우울척도(BDI-Ⅱ)를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석 방법은 각 변인들의 영향력을 확인하기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였고 Sobel 검증으로 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회지향성과 폭식행동은 여성이 남성보다 높은 반면 고통 감내력은 남성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회지향성은 우울과 성차를 통제하고도 폭식행동을 유의미하게 설명하였다. 셋째, 고통 감내력은 성차를 통제하고도 폭식행동을 유의미하게 설명하였다. 넷째, 사회지향성과 폭식행동의 관계에서 고통 감내력이 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 사회지향성이 폭식행동에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 고통 감내력을 통해 간접적으로도 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 마지막으로 임상적 함의와 한계점을 논의하였다.

        In this study, mesoporous anatase TiO<sub>2</sub> spheres decorated with multiwalled carbon nanotubes were prepared by sol-gel method and solvothermal process. The morphologies of the composites were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The crystallization of samples was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The textural properties of samples were examined by N<sub>2</sub> adsorption-desorption isotherm at 77 K. The photodegradation efficiency was tested using rhodamine B under solar light irradiation. As a result, nanocomposites showed better photocatalytic performance than bare TiO<sub>2</sub>, since MWCNTs plays an important role as good electron traps and carriers for the retardation of electron-hole recombination. In addition, creation of mesopore structure of TiO<sub>2</sub> improved adsorption properties, leading to increased interaction toward rhodamine B onto the surface of mesoporous TiO<sub>2</sub> spheres/MWCNTs nanocomposites.

      • Fabrication of hydrogenated TiO2/N-doped graphene composites with enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity

        Hydrogenated TiO2/N-doped graphene composites were synthesized via hydrothermal process and annealing in Ar/H2 atmosphere. The crystal structure of the as-synthesized samples was examined by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), and their morphology and surface images were obtained by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM). The surface features of samples was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The textural properties of samples were examined by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm at 77 K. The photocatalytic efficiency was monitored using methyl orange under solar light irradiation. As a result, hydrogenated TiO2/N-doped graphene composites demonstrated impressive photocatalytic efficiency, due to hydrogenated TiO2, the incorporation of nitrogen dopant ions and charge carrying properties of graphene.
