This paper proposes a motion estimation algorithm with run-time adaptive workload control. It has optimized performance within limited hardware resources while guaranteeing hard realtime operation. It performs maximum searches within hard realtime constraints, since it determines search steps and workload adaptively. It reduces the hardware size to 1/4~1/400 of conventional algorithms, while its PSNR degradation is only 0.02~0.44 dB. It can be easily applied to most conventional fast algorithms, so it is useful to design realtime encoder chips.

Yang, Hyun-chul. “William Carlos Williams’ Objectivistic Poetry.” Studies in English Language & Literature 46.3 (2020): 151-168. The purpose of this paper is to show how Williams developed his poetic techniques with varying theories. The progress of his poetic theory is drawn from the influence of other artists—Imagist and Zukofsky. His poetic techniques develops from the early 1910’s through 1920’s to the early 1930’s. Each period represents his attention to the poetic elements: from the thing itself of Imagism to the object and structural necessity of Objectivism. His development of poetic techniques takes a dialectical pattern to achieve a final theory of Objectivism. His dissatisfaction with Imagism caused by his awareness of structural necessity in poetry led him to his later involvement in the Objectivist movement. He often emphasizes the ‘structural necessity’ of his new poetic practice: ‘Imagism completely lacked structural necessity,’ and ‘the Objectivist attempted to remedy this fault by fusing with each image a form.’ He often emphasizes the “structural necessity” of poetry in terms of this theory of Objectivism. If Imagism changes the reader from the real world to the actually experienced world of the artist, Objectivism will take one further step. It will change the reader from the experienced world of the poet to the created world of the poem, where he experiences the creation directly. It moves, logically, from the world in itself to the world the poet perceives, and from thence to the world the poet makes— the ‘complete little universe’ of the individual poem. The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast between William Wordsworth’s and Kim Sowol’s nature poetry. They were influenced by the romantic movement. Their imagination was similar in their pursuit of romantic spirit in nature. They shared some characteristics by emphasis on the individual’s expression of romantic feelings and emotions. Their understanding of nature was very similar; “the idea of being one with nature”. They recognized a spirit in nature and tried to be one with nature. However, there were differences in the pursuit of accord with the spirit of nature. Sowol experienced his unhappy condition under the tragic situation of Korea in 1920’s. Sowol considered that as Korea was dominated by Japan he couldn’t be one with nature and always kept away from nature. Wordsworth thought that the modern civilization acted as a significant obstacle that separated humans from nature. The mind of people had been corrupted by modern civilization. Wordsworth recognized that as the nature had the holy spirit, we could be one with nature. Wordsworth expressed in his poems that the sick mind of people could be overcome by getting closer to nature for the purpose of becoming one with nature.
Imagism of The Early Poems of William Carlos Williams
양현철,Yang, Hyun-Chul The English Teachers Association in Korea 2003 영어어문교육 Vol.8 No.2
This paper attempts, not to evaluate, but to describe William Carlos Williams' poetic techniques in accord with his poetic theory of Imagism; it does this by showing the early poetry in 1910's. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how Williams developed his poetic techniques with his theory of poetry. The progress of his poetic theory is drawn from the influence of another poet, Ezra Pound. William Carlos Williams' poetic development in Imagism threads the periods of his writing from the early 1910's to the early of 1920's. William Carlos Williams forms progressively the theory of his poetic technique of Imagism in this period. He treats the poems as images. In his theory of Imagism, his art continually demonstrates the development of poetic techniques by the help of other artists. This period represents Williams' attention to the essence of poetic elements: 'the thing itself.' All of these things in life come before us in his poetry in such a way as to be a technical process divided into the well-formed theory of poetry. The development of William Carlos Williams' poetic technique takes a particular pattern in order to achieve a theory of Imagism. At last, the steps of his poetic technique arrive at an organic unity of poetic theory in the early poetry of Williams.
