《강희자전(康熙字典)》은 강희 49년(1710)에 착수하여 6년 뒤인 강희 55년(1716)에 완성된 대형 자서(字書)이다. 기록에 의하면 그로부터 13년 뒤인 1729년에 이 책이 조선에 전래 되었으며, 그 이후로도 여러 종류의 판본이 계속 유입되었다. 조선조 학자들의 논저를 살펴 보면 《강희자전》의 학술적 가치에 대한 서술들이 눈에 띄는데, 청조학자들의 논평과 비교하면 일치하는 부분도 많지만 한편으로 차이를 보이는 면도 많다. 이런 점에서 조선조 학자들이 《강희자전》을 어떻게 평가하였는지 살펴 보는 것은 상당한 의의가 있다. 《강희자전》의 가치를 다룬 문헌으로는 《승정원일기(承政院日記)》(5곳), 《오주연문장전산고(五洲衍文長箋散稿)》(3곳), 《홍재전서(弘齋全書)》(2곳), 그리고 《규장총목(奎章總目)》, 《홍씨독서록(洪氏讀書錄)》, 《금릉집(金陵集)》, 《위암문고(韋庵文稿)》 등에서 각 1곳하여 모두 14곳 정도가 보인다. 이글에서는 우선 긍정적 평가, 부정적 평가, 그리고 긍정과 부정을 동시에 포함하고 있는 것의 세 종류로 나누어 검토하였다. 그리고 동일 서적에 대해 청과 조선 학자들의 평가가 달라지는 원인에 대해 검토하였다. 크게 보면 왜 조선조에서는 《강희자전》에 대해 부정적 평가가 많은가 하는 점인데, 이것은 《강희자전》 자체의 문제도 있으나 주요하게는 청이라는 나라에 대한 조선조 전반의 부정적 인식이 저변에 있으며, 학술적으로는 왕석후(王錫侯)나 왕인지(王引之)의 영향을 받았을 가능성도 있는 듯하다. Soon after the publication of Kangxi Dictionary, it was spread to the neighboring countries and attracted much attention by the scholars of the Korean Dynasty. One of the manifestations is the evaluation of academic value. Compared with the relevant contents of the Qing Dynasty in the same period, the scholars of the Korean dynasty mainly focused on the number of words, volume, documentary evidence and etc. The positive evaluation words were simpler and the negative evaluation was more directly. The reasons why the two countries have different views on the same issue can be analyzed from both internal and external perspectives. On the one hand, due to the achievements and limitations of Kangxi Dictionary itself, the local scholars developed their own understandings of Kangxi Dictionary during the long-term use and research. On the other hand, it was influenced by the complex and delicate political relations between the two countries and Ziguan of Wang Xihou.
An atypical case of Lemierre syndrome following oropharyngeal infection

Lemierre syndrome is characterized by anaerobic bacterial infection in the head and neck and clinical or radiological evidence of internal jugular vein thrombophlebitis. The most common pathogens are Fusobacterium species, particularly F u s o b a c t e r i u m n e c r o p h o r u m . Septic emboli resulting from infected thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein leads to metastatic infections involving lung, liver, kidney, bone and central nervous system. The accurate diagnosis and treatment is important because it may be associated with a high mortality rate if untreated. We present a case of 28-year-old man with an atypical history for the diagnosis of Lemierre syndrome, which showed no definite evidence of internal jugular thrombophlebitis.
신규 화장품 소재로서 Lactobacillus plantarum HDB1234 용암해수 발효물의 피부장벽강화 효과

In this study, we developed Lava-Dermabiotics HDB1234 using Lactobacillus plantarum HDB1234 and lava seawater fermentation technology to enhance skin barrier. The use of lava seawater increased the purity and concentration of nucleotides in Lava-Dermabiotics HDB1234 by using nanodrop 2000 spectrophotometer. Also, when 5%(v/v) Lava-Dermabiotics HDB1234 was treated, cytotoxicity on normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEKs) and human fibroblast cells was not observed by using MTT assay. The mRNA expressions of claudin-1 (CLDN-1), serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT), and filaggrin (FLG) on Lava-Dermabiotics HDB1234 treated cells were dose-dependent higher than those of non-treated cells. Especially, the protein expression of FLG was also confirmed by using western blotting and immunocytochemistry staining. These results indicated that Lava-Dermabiotics HDB1234 could be used as a potential cosmetic ingredient for skin barrier enhancement through CLDN-1, SPT, and FLG expression related to the formation of skin barrier.

Background: Although old guidelines recommend FeNO should be checked more than two times within the same session for asthma, recent studies showed excellent reproducibility of FeNO. This study aimed to determine whether repeated measurements of FeNO within the same session are necessary for asthma screening. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed electronic medical records of 132 adult outpatient subjects who visits pulmonary department of Gangnam Severance Hospital for asthma evaluation and tested FeNO measurement during June 2016 to July 2017. Results: Among total of 132 patients, 79 patients (59.8%) was diagnosed as asthma. Repeated FeNO measurements taken within the same session showed high reproducibility (Intraclass correlation coefficient > 0.9; P-value < 0.001) and strong correlation (Pearson’s coefficient > 0.9; P-value < 0.001); however, reliability and correlation was slightly weak in subjects with low FeNO (< 52.8 ppb). The value of repeated measurement was not significantly different in general; however, the value of FeNO measured at 2nd time was significantly higher than that measured at 1st time in subjects with lowest and highest lung function. The value of FeNO measured at 1st time was not inferior to that measured at 2nd time to predict asthma. After adjustment with lung function, the value of FeNO measured at 1st time (sensitivity, 80.5%; specificity, 85.1%) was superior to that measured at 2nd time (sensitivity, 76.6%; specificity 85.1%) to predict asthma.
Lactobacillus gasseri HDB1102를 활용한 신규 화장품 소재의 미세먼지에 의해 유발되는 피부증상 완화 효과

In this study, we developed Dermabiotics HDB1102 using Lactobacillus gasseri HDB1102 to relieve skin irritation caused by particulate matter (PM). L. gasseri HDB1102 was provided from cell bank and identified by 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing. Dermabiotics HDB1102 was manufactured by heating, centrifuging, and filtering culture medium of L. gasseri HDB1102. When 0-2.5%(v/v) Dermabiotics HDB1102 was treated, cytotoxicity on normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEKs) and human fibroblast was not observed by using MTT assay. The mRNA expression levels of cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1), interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-8 on Dermabiotics HDB1102 treated cells decreased compared to PM-treated cells. Conversely, the mRNA expressions of aquaporin-3 (AQP- 3), CD-44, and collagen type 1 (COL-1) on Dermabiotics HDB1102 treated cells were dose-dependent higher than those of non-treated cells. These results indicated that Dermabiotics HDB1102 have anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and anti-wrinkle effects and could be used as a potential cosmetic ingredient to alleviate skin symptoms caused by PM.
