        다국적 기업의 해외자회사에 대한 통제 메커니즘이 자회사 조직의 분권화 수준에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 모기업의 해외 자회사에 대한 경영 통제(management control) 방식이 해외 자회사의 분권화 (decentralization) 수준에 미치는 영향을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 2013년 현재 해외에 진출하여 경영활동을 수행하고 있는 국내 다국적기업의 해외 자회사 143개를 대상으로 조직의 분권화 수준을 종속변수로 하여 실증 분석을 수행한 결과, 본사가 해외 자회사에 대해 비전의 공유와 같은 집단적 유대관계 형성을 통한 사회화 (socialization)에 기반한 통제 수준을 높일수록 해외 자회사의 분권화 수준은 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 본 연구의 이론적 예측과는 달리, 본사가 해외 자회사의 부문별 경영 활동에 대해 직접적으로 관여하는 공식화 (formalization)에 기반한 통제 수준을 높일 경우에도 분권화 수준이 높아질 가능성을 시사하는 결과가 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 해외 자회사의 역량 창출자로서의 역할이 중요해지는 최근 글로벌 경쟁에 있어 한국 다국적 기업의 해외 자회사 운영 설계에 있어 의미 있는 시사점을 제공한다. This paper explores the impact of headquarter control mechanisms on the degree of subsidiary decentralization within multinational corporations. We collected data on 143 Korea-based multinational corporations that have foreign subsidiaries at the end of 2013, and analyzed the impact of headquarter control mechanisms on the level of subsidiary decentralization by using multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that headquarter control by socialization (vision sharing) significantly increases the degree of subsidiary decentralization. However, contrary to the theoretical expectations of the study, the results provide some evidence for the positive influence of headquarter control by formalization (control via rules and procedures in the process of marketing and human resource management) on the degree of subsidiary decentralization. Considering the recent growing emphasis on the subsidiary`s role as a competence creator, this study provides meaningful implications for Korean multinational companies in designing headquarters-subsidiary control mechanisms.

        기혼 여성 관리자의 이직의도에 관한 통합적 고찰

        노동력의 다양성 확보가 기업 경쟁력의 기반을 이루는 시대적 요구에도 불구하고 여성 근로자의 이직행동은 여전히 해결되지 않는 문제로 남아있다. 특히 국내 기혼 여성의 경제활동참가에 있어서는 출산과 육아가 여전히 넘기 힘든 장벽이다. 기혼 여성 관리자는 직장인으로서 맡은 바 직무의 영향을 받을 뿐만 아니라 기혼 여성 고유의 가정 상황과 조직 상황으로부터 동시에 영향을 받는다 본 연구에서는 여성 관리자의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 가족관련 상황과 직무관련 상황, 조직관련 상황에 대해 살펴보았다 한국여성정책연구원이 2007년 발표한 ‘여성관리자패널조사’(KWMP) 데이터를 사용하였으며, 대리급 이상 기혼 여성 관리자 1,027명을 대상으로 하였다 가족관련 변인으로는 직장가정 간 전이와 생애 주기 단계를 사용하였으며, 직무관련 변인으로는 직무만족과 직무스트레스, 조직관련 변인으로는 기업의 복리후생제도와 조직분위기를 사용하였다 각 독립변인이 기혼 여성 관리자의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는지 검증하기 위해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다 분석 결과, 직장가정 전이 중 직장에서 가정으로의 부정적 전이(work-to-family negative spillover)와 직무만족, 직무스트레스, 합리적 조직 분위기, 경력 유연성제도의 이용용이성이 여성 관리자의 이직의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다 이러한 결과는 기혼 여성 관리자의 이직의도가 다차원적 요인에 의해서 일어나며, 여성 관리자의 이직을 줄이고 여성인력활용을 활성화하기 위해 가족 친화적 분위기 형성과 복리후생제도의 이용용이성 확대와 같은 기업의 적극적 노력이 필요함을 시사한다 The purpose of this study is to examine the role of family-related situation, job-related, and organization-related factors on turnover intension of female managers in Korea For this study, we used 'Korean Women Manager Panel' data released by Korean Wome's Development Institute in 2007 As for family related factors, we examined work-family spillover and life stage, As for job-related factors, we examined job satisfaction and job stress As for organizational factors, we examined the existence of family friendly policies as well as the ease of use of those programs and organizational climate We conducted binary logistic regression to test the hypotheses The results of this study showed that turnover intention was increased when work-to-family negative spillover and job stress were high, as predicted On the other hand, higher job satisfaction, rational organizational climate and the usability of family friendly program lowered turnover intentions of female managers The results of this study suggest that married female manager's turnover intension arises from multi-dimensional factors We believe this study provides guidance for companies which try to make family friendly organization

        국방 벤처기업의 지속적 성장에 관한 탐색적 연구: 아이쓰리시스템(주) 사례를 중심으로

        Purpose: This research aims to analyze the sources of competitive advantage and sustainability of defense start-up companies. As the government has recently prioritized policies to support and foster small and medium-sized companies, research on the sustainability of start-ups is meaningful in itself at a time when the win-win development of large and small companies is emphasized. Research design, data, and methodology: Unlike the private sector, the defense industry has unique characteristics and heterogeneity, in that the defense demand is limited but stable. Also, to meet the government's complex demands, independent technology capabilities are critical, which once are secured help overcome the disadvantages of start-ups. Thus, it is important to identify integrated success factors in consideration of the nature of the unique industry and technological capabilities of a company. We conduct a case analysis of the success story of i3systems and provide strategic implications for venture firms in pursuing sustainable growth. Results: The founder jumped into the business based on his experience participating in government-sponsored R&D projects and expertise in microelectronics. Through multiple trials and errors, i3systems managed to develop censors, modules and product systems using independent technology and succeeded in delivering them to the Ministry of National Defense thanks to the competitiveness of their products. After developing a dental diagnostic apparatus equipped with x-ray imaging sensors, i3systems is now seeking to diversify and to enter the medical equipment market. Eventually, i3systems laid a foundation for continuous growth, by entering the private sector while satisfying the demands of the defense sector. Implications: The sustainability of i3systems will depend on its competitiveness in the military defense sector and making a soft-landing in the medical equipment market. The study results present interesting strategic and policy implications that ensure the dual use of defense venture firms.

        장수기업의 공통 경영 방식에 관한 연구

        What is so special about long-lived companies? Do they share any common management practices that significantly increase their long-term corporate viability? I conduct a statistical investigation of the distinctive management practices shared among long-lived companies to examine their effect on corporate survival. I collected data on the 308 companies listed on the Korean securities market at the end of 1978, and analyzed the impact of their firm-specific characteristics and management practices on their long-term viability by using the Cox proportional hazard model. The results indicate that firm-specific factors, such as the age and size of firms, and management practices, such as intensive investment in human resources or research and development, significantly increase long-term corporate viability, even when the performance level of the firms in the sample is strictly controlled. Hence, common longevity routines are likely to increase long-term viability of firms, which is an important implication for future research on corporate longevity. Further, this paper empirically studies long-term corporate survival, a topic that has not yet been thoroughly explored with a large sample.

        학술연구 : 창업 이념의 각인 효과와 기업의 장기 생존에 대한 탐색적 고찰

        본 연구는 창업자의 창업 이념(founder ideology)이 갖는 각인 효과(imprinting effect)를 국내 대표 장수 기업들에 대한 심층 사례 분석을 통해 탐색한다. 창업자의 창업 이념과 경영 방식이 어떻게 기업의 경영 메커니즘에 각인되고 기업의 장기 생존 가능성에 영향을 미치는지 그 과정을 상세히 조망하기 위해 본 연구는 1800년대 후반에서 1900년대 초반에 설립된 국내 최고령 기업 4개의 창업 과정 및 창업 이후 경영 승계 과정을 창업자 및 후속 경영자의 인적 특성과 경영 방식 특성에 초점을 맞추어 분석하였다. 연구 결과 창업자가 창업기 창업 이념에 기반한 고유의 경영 방식을 확립한 경우 후속 세대 경영자들에게 창업 이념의 각인 효과가 나타남을 발견하였고, 이러한 창업이념의 각인 효과의 강도는 창업기 경영성과, 창업자 재임기간 및 창업 이념의 사회성 추구와 관련이 있을 가능성을 발견하였다. 또한 후속 세대 경영자들은 이러한 창업 이념의 각인 효과가 기업의 장기 생존(long-term survival)에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다고 인식하고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 궁극적으로 창업기 경영 이념의 지속적 실천이 기업이 장기 생존 가능성을 높임을 시사해 기업 장수의 원인에 대해 이론적, 실무적으로 의미 있는 시사점을 제공한다. Through four in-depth case studies, this article explores the imprinting effect of the founder`s ideology on corporate long-term survival. In order to illustrate how founder`s ideology imprinted in company`s mechanism helps enhance company`s long-term viability, this paper examines historical trajectories of four oldest Korean companies that are founded between late 1800s and early 1900s, focusing on the role of entrepreneurial founder and the impact of founder`s ideology on organization beyond the founding phase. Findings imply that entrepreneurial ideology at founding sets a critical mission for the founder and successive managers of the company, and it seems, overtime, the ideology forms a part of corporate mechanism that works like an invisible hand and prevent the company from derailing the right path and thus positively affects the survival likelihoods even after the company has gone through numerous changes in leadership.

        소유 또는 전문 CEO 선택이 가족 기업의 장기성과에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 가족소유경영 기업의 경영권 승계 시 전문경영인 또는 소유경영인의 선택이 각 기업의 장기성과(long-term performance)에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이를 위해 동일 산업, 유사 업력 및 규모, 가족소유(family-ownership), 동일 승계시점으로 통제된 두 기업에 대한 종단적 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 분석 결과 전문경영체제를 도입한 기업은 CEO 교체 직후 초기엔 기존 연구에서 주장된 전문화(professionalization)의 이점을 나타냈으나 이후 장기 성장 과정에 있어서는 전문경영인의 단기 및 사적 이익 추구(appropriation risk)에 따른 전문화 비용(professionalization cost)의 증가로 인한 전문화의 단점이 부각되었다. 반면 소유경영체제를 유지한 기업은 기존 연구에서 주장된 성장 정체(stagnation) 등의 문제가 나타나지 않았고 10년간 꾸준한 해외진출 및 다각화를 통한 고속 성장을 달성하였다. 이러한 결과는 가족기업의 승계에 있어서 전문화는 단기적 관점이 아닌 장기적 관점에서 조망할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 또한, 기존 소유경영체제 하의 지배구조 특성이 이후 CEO 선택에 따른 영향을 달라지게 하는 상황 별 맥락으로 작용함을 밝힘으로써 가족기업의 바람직한 전문화에 대한 시사점을 제공한다. 아울러, 본 연구는 가족기업에서 CEO의 선택과 그에 따른 기업의 성장 전략변화가 어떻게 기업의 장기 경쟁력에 영향에 미쳤는지를 실증함으로써 가족기업의 장수에 관련된 논의에도 중요한 함의를 제공한다. This study analyzes the impact that the choice of a professional manager or a member of the owner"s family as the next CEO in family-owned enterprises has on their long-term performance. For this purpose, two firms that are similar in terms of industry, age and size, family-ownership, and succession timing in the past, have been selected in order to conduct a longitudinal case study. The results of this study revealed that the professionally managed firm had an advantage in achieving substantial professionalization within a short period of time after the succession, as suggested in the previous studies. In the long run, however, this advantage seemed to backfire as professional managers began to pursue self-interest, a behavior that is known to increases appropriation risks and as a result, professionalization cost. On the other hand, the owner-managed firm did not suffer from the alleged stagnation in growth that has been frequently suggested by previous researches, and achieved fast growth through active globalization and diversification. This result implies that it is desirable for firms to have a long-term perspective on planning their future professionalization when it comes to succession decisions in family-owned enterprises. Finally, this paper shows how the decisions on the sucession of CEOs in family-enterprises and subsequent changes in their growth strategies can affect their long-term competitiveness, providing valuable insight especially for discussions on related topics such as corporate longevity.

        Purpose: The study was to investigate the Characteristics of Korean Consonant in the lateral sound [l] and flap sound [ɾ] Articulation is Reflected in Phonemic situation of normal children 4 years old preschooler. Methods: The speech were sampled from imitation utterance of nonsense syllable and word involved [l] and [ɾ]. The articulation performance of the subjects were analyzed in consonant accuracy and speech intellingibility as a phonemic situation of [l] and [ɾ]. Results: Given the accuracy of the consonant phonemic environment in nonsense syllables were significantly depending on age. But when I saw the accuracy of the consonant phonemic at the word environment was significantly depending on the age. The consonant accuracy of lateral consonant a lingual sound and Tan were no statistically significant differences. In speech intelligibility nonsense syllables, words, both levels were significantly higher.

        노인 장기요양보험 이용실태 및 서비스내용에 대한 인식

        Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the awareness toward use and service contents of long term care for the elderly. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 296 adults from August 13 to October 20, 2014. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, awareness toward long term care insurance for the elderly, awareness toward long term oral health care services, use of long term care service and use intention for the long term care insurance. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Those who were aware of the long term care insurance accounted for 55.4 percent. Approximately 50 percent of the respondents recognized long term care service items, home visit care, home visit bathing, and home visit nursing. Most of the respondents had information of long term care services by way of mass media and direct contact. Only 13.4 percent of the respondents were aware of the oral health service in the long term care insurance. The subjects were aware of denture cleaning, oral cleaning and oral health education out of oral health service in order; and oral health services that needed to be offered were denture cleaning, oral health education and professional toothbrushing. They reported that dental hygienists were the most important manpower that offered the efficient oral health care services. They answered that professional manpower and financial support are required for oral health services. The positive thinking to long term care insurance accounted for 89.2 percent and 91.3 percent had use intention for oral health services. Conclusions: Many elderly people have mastication or dysphagic problems due to systemic diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to announce the long term care insurance and long term care services for the elderly people.

        유치원 방문 구강건강교육사업의 효과

        Objectives: This study aimed to check the effect of preschool visiting oral health education programs and provide baseline data for an oral health education program that suggests the necessity of oral health education in children’s living places. Methods: The preschool visiting oral health education was conducted with the parents of 3-year-old and 4-year-old children at a preschool in the jurisdiction of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, with teachers observing the education, and oral health educators to examine the effect of the oral health education, the effectiveness of the education, the status of oral health care, and the degree of cooperation for the education. Results: Regarding oral health behaviors after the education program, the attitude toward brushing teeth after food intake increased from 2.86 to 3.17 and thinking of the relationship with dental caries and eating food increased from 2.57 to 2.90. The satisfaction with the children’s health education was very high at over 4.9 points in most items. The teachers’ interest in children’s oral care was 4.26 points, and the degree of their cooperation for education was 4.41 points; 96.4% responded that they were willing to conduct reeducation. Conclusions: Children’s oral health education should be conducted steadily and repeatedly.
