In this paper we present analysis of current density when the Cluster spacecraft pass the nightside auroral region at about 4-5 R_E from the center of Earth. The analysis is made when the inter-spacecraft separation is within 200 km, which allows all four spacecraft to be situated inside the same current sheet. On 22 February 2002, two field-aligned current (FAC) events were observed in both the southern and the northern hemispheres. The FACs were calculated with magnetic field data obtained by the four spacecraft using the Curlometer method. The scales of the FACs along the spacecraft trajectory and the magnitudes were hundreds of kilometers and tens of nA/m^2, respectively, and both events were mapped to the auroral region in the ionosphere. We also examined reliability of the results with some parameters, and found that our results are adequately comparable with other studies. Nevertheless, some limitations that decrease the accuracy of current estimation exist.

Saemangeum lake is an artificial lake created by reclamation works and an estuary embankment since 2006. The sea water flows into the lake by the operation of two sluice gates, and the freshwater enters into the lake by the upper streams. For the reflection of hydrology and hydrodynamics effects in Saemangeum area, a hydrodynamics model was developed by connecting Hydrological Simulation Program with Fortran (HSPF) and Environmental Fluid Dynamic Code (EFDC). The HSPF was applied to simulate the freshwater discharge from the upper steam watershed, and the EFDC was performed to compute water flow, water temperature, and salinity based on time series from 2008 to 2009. The calibration and validation are performed to analyze horizontal and vertical gradients. The horizontal trend of model simulation results is reflected in the trend of observed data tolerably. The vertical trend is conducted an analysis of seasonal comparisons because of the limitation of vertically observed data. Water temperature reflects on the seasonal changes. Salinity has an effect on the near river input spots. The impact area of salinity is depending on the sea water distribution by gate operation, mainly.

The paper examines the relationships among reading problems in L1 and L2, strategy use in L2reading and L2 proficiency. The total of 126 university students participated in this study. Self-assessed survey items were used to measure reading proficiency in L1, Korean and L2,English. Then the Survey of Reading Strategy (SORS) was followed to measure the participants’strategy use during their L2 academic reading. Some of the main reading problems involve slowreading in L2 texts, lack of vocabulary size during reading in L2, and lack of content knowledgein L2 texts. Language proficiency is greatly contributed to L2 reading proficiency, to the extentin which the participants fell below the linguistic threshold. Pedagogical implications andlimitations are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the management methods of Highschool students to various stress source. To perform the goal of this study, sampling population includes 118 boy and girl students who attend at the Highschool located in Taegu city and Kyungsan town. All data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and F-test to confirm the above hypothesis. The results of this study may be summarized as follows. 1. The regional difference in stress cause showed that students living in a town had more stress sources than those who resided in a big city. They suffered most stress from school life, and decreased in the order themselves) personal relationship) home life. 2. The regional difference in handling methods presented that metropolitan students coped with stress as more emotional- and problem-oriented formulas than the town students and also they emotionally dealed with themselves. 3. The sexual difference in stress cause revealed that a boy student experienced more stress than a girl in all domain. 4. The sexual difference in handling methods showed that men students coped with stress as more emotional- and problem-oriented formulas than women students.
