종단간 순방향/역방향 전송지연 측정을 이용한 TCP Vegas의 성능 향상

TCP 구현의 하나인 Vegas는 패킷의 유실을 망의 혼잡으로 인지하는 Reno와 달리 RTT(Round Trip Time) 측정값을 바탕으로 혼잡을 인지하며, 이를 이용하여 윈도우 크기 등 혼잡 제어를 위한 주요 인자를 결정한다. 그러나, Vegas의 혼잡 회피 방안이 TCP 패킷 경로의 비대칭적 특성을 제대로 반영하지 못하며, 이것은 양 방향(순방향, 역방향) 패킷 전송 상태를 반영하는 RTT 측정값을 순방향 경로의 상태 해석에 이용하기 때문이다. RTT는 패킷의 왕복 시간만을 측정하기 때문에 패킷의 송수신시 순방향과 역방향에서 어느 정도의 혼잡이 발생하였는지 알 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 리눅스 커널 2.6의 TCP 소스에서 RTT 측정값으로 혼잡도를 측정하는 기존의 Vegas 혼잡 제어 알고리즘을 수정하여 순방향 경로의 혼잡과 역방향 경로의 혼잡을 구별할 수 있는 새로운 Vegas 혼잡 제어 알고리즘을 설계하고 구현하여 그 성능을 분석하였다. Unlike TCP Reno, TCP Vegas recognizes network congestion through the measuring of RTT (Round Trip Time) and decides the main congestion control parameters, such as Windows size. But, congestion avoidance scheme of Vegas poorly reflects asymmetric characteristics of packet path because TCP Vegas uses the measuring of RTT that reflects forward/backward packet transmission delay as a forward delay. The RTT can't infer the forward/backward transmission delay variation because it only measures the packet's turn around time. In this paper, We have designed and implemented a new Vegas congestion control algorithm that can distinguish forward/backward network congestion. We have modified the source codes of TCP Vegas in Linux 2.6 kernel and verified their performance.

The purpose of this study is to identify the elderly housing farcility design preference by comparing two groups, the present residents living in elderly housing facility and the middle aged. The latter has more housing experiences and more design oriented standard of selecting house for quality of living, while the aged are oriented more in economy and investment. It is identified that both group preferred living in elderly housing facility best to any other elderly housing type, including "aging in place." The aged are not yet very concerned about physically homelike design features, but when the middle aged need the elderly housing, it is recommended that more variety and amenity in its type, location, plan and design features. The idealistic facility planning and management system were suggested.
친환경 아파트 단지 거주자들의 친환경 계획요소에 대한 인식에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to identify the level of satisfaction and preference of the environment-friendly apartment residents on its interior and exterior planning factors. Post occupancy evaluation questionnaire method was used. Their preference about environment-friendly apartment has increased higher as they were living in. Most of satisfaction ratings on planning factors showed positive but the range of facility usage was shown limited. The residents considered sustainable interior environment more important than the exterior but in practice it is emphasized the opposite. Demographic variables were identified statistically significant. Further suggestions were suggested.
내 집과 같은 노인시설주거 디자인 특성에 관한 연구(Ⅲ) : 중년층의 선호하는 주택과 노후 주택의 물리적 특성을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to identify the homelike design characteristics of elderly housing facility. To investigate what preference of physical design characteristics are, interview was done by unstructured questionnaire to 30 middle aged and middle income group housewives living in Seoul. It was identified that preferred homelike physical characteristics of the houses were composed of 4 themes, housing types, building appearences and garden, floor plan and natural and social environments of its location. Their desirable housing standard was amenity which is the highest level of home environment. In their later life, they wanted to live in vicinity of Seoul to enjoy cultural benefits of the city and active outdoor activities in sunny, natural suburban environment. They liked a spacious, clean and bright color with natural material furnishings. Each architectural design expression of 4 themes was suggested.
