Analysis on international trade flow of medical devices in Korea, China, and Japan

본 연구는 2국간 의료기기무역흐름(international trade flow)에 관한 무역결합도이론(Intensity Approach)을 통해 우리나라의 의료기기수출구조(export structure)와 중국과 일본의 수입구조(import structure)를 상호유기적으로 연계시킴으로써 한 중 일 의료기기 무역의 흐름을 보다 이론적이고 체계적으로 분석하였다. 또한, 우리의 대중국과 일본의 의료기기 수출증대(boost exports)에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 의의가 있다. 이에 본고에서는 한국과 의료기기(medical device) 시장에서 주요한 경쟁관계에 있는 중국과 일본의료기기 시장의 중요성을 인식하고 특별히 의료기기의 한 중 일 무역현황(situation of trade)을 살펴본다. 이어서 삼국의 의료기기에 있어서 상대적인 시장흐름(market stream)과 주요 의료기기 품목의 무역결합도(trade intensity)를 알아보고, 한 중 일 의료기기 시장의 지속적인 성장방안을 찾고자 한다. This study has analyzed the international trade flow of medical devices in Korea, China, and Japan more theoretically and systematically through a mutual connection of the medical device export structure of Korea and the import structure of China and Japan organically, with an intensity approach on the bilateral international trade flow. Also, it is meaningful to find a solution to boost exports of Korea to China and Japan. Therefore in this study, we recognize the importance of the medical device market in China and Japan, which is the main competition for Korea and its market, and look into the trade situation of these three countries. We also look into the relative market stream and the trade intensity of the main medical devices in Korea, China and Japan, and seek measures for the steady growth of the medical device market in these three countries.

미얀마 의류 무역결합도에 관한 연구

본 연구는 미얀마 의류산업에 있어 미얀마의 주요 수출대상국인 한국과 일본, 인접국이며 경제제재 이후로 미얀마와 지속적인 거래관계를 유지해오고 있는 중국, 태국을 선정해 의류산업 상호경쟁력을 살펴보고, 주요 의류상품별 무역결합도를 분석해 향후 미얀마 의류산업의 현실을 직시한 경쟁력있는 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 한국은 미얀마와 섬유산업에 있어 유사한 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 국가와의 차이점에 따른 미얀마의 장점을 인식하고 한국이 미얀마 섬유산업에 있어 노동인력 양성, 산업관계 강화, 안전시설 강화, 건전한 노사관계 정립등 대책을 통한 미래지향적인 의류산업으로 발전할수 있어야 한다. This paper examines Myanmar`s garment industry comparative`s competitiveness by selecting Korea and Japan-Myanmar`s main target exporting countries for their garment industry-and China and Thailand, the neighboring countries it has continued to have business relationships with since the economic sanctions in selecting the target countries, this study presents a competitive outlook at the Myanmar garment industry`s potential for the future by analyzing trade intensity per main garment product. Therefore, Korea should recognize the advantages of Myanmar, compared to other countries with similar competitiveness in the textile industry, and should develop Myanmar textile industry into a future-oriented garment industry through measures such as labor force training, scaling up both industrial relations and safety facilities, and establishing sound labor-management relations.

MPEG Technologies are used in the Compression and Decompression of Video Streams in many Consumer Devices, from Small Mobile Handsets to large Digital TV sets. However, there are multiple variation of MPEG Standards that are used in different products. New MPEG Standard has superseded an older one, for example, MPEG-2 surpassing MPEG-1, MPEG-4 AVC Part 10 or H.264 is being used in the Next-Generation Smartphones, as well as in video delivery networks. At present, The Mobile MPEG-4 market, which includes MPEG-4 Part 2 and MPEG-4 Part 10, will also experience unit growth, due to the addition of Video functions to Mobile Handsets. On the one hand, MPEG LA are the World`s leading packager of Patent Pools for standards and other Technology platforms used in Consumer Electronics and Wireless Technology. They developed the Pool Market space, their Business model supports a large number of Patent users-creating reasonable access and profitable opportunities for all parties. They help make markets for Intellectual Property that maximize profits for Intellectual Property owners and make utilization of Intellectual Property affordable for manufacturers, consumers and other users. In this article, We examined that Device form factors in the Smartphone Market are undergoing a period of rapid change, escalating rapidly from 3% of devices sold in 2007 to 45% in 2010. We expect the significance of the Slate form factor to continue to increase, albeit at a declining rate of growth, setting at nearly 60% of Global Smartphone Devices by 2015. Currently, Korea is emerging as the Main Core Business, the Digital Broadcasting, Mobile Communications, Smart Phones, etc., that has an important part of MPEG Technology. In this study, the core business in Korea have emerged as important technology of MPEG-4 Technology. We explained the formation of Patent Pools, and detailed results of the MPEG-LA License Agreement. In order to enhance high technology of MPEG, we should invest in Applied Technology and construct system for MPEG Patent information.
