In order to establish policy for effective energy saving of residential sector, it is necessary to make a reliableprediction about the energy usage of households. To do this, analyzing factors affecting the energy consumption isessential. In this study, we conducted K-mean cluster analysis and decision tree analysis using micro data of 「HouseholdEnergy Standing Survey」in 2015 to derive the factors affecting the energy consumption of households which has highuncertainty characteristics. And also, we analyzed the change of energy consumption according to detailed conditionchange of each variable. As a result of k-means clustering analysis, total energy consumption was classified into threegroups: high, middle, and low. In addition, statistical analysis of the differences of variables for each group was conducted. Decision tree analysis showed structural relationships between variables that cannot be easily determined in alinear relationship. The main heating fuel, number of household members and household characteristics were found tohave the greatest effect on annual energy consumption in decision tree analysis.

This study measured the thermal environment and residents' control behaviors of cooing according to 3 groups of household type-families with preschool children, families of middle age and families of senior. The object of this study are to fmd the difference of the actual condition of indoor thermal environment and cooling control behavior by age or household type and to develop user oriented climate control system. The results were summarized as follows. When the age of members at household is younger, the indoor mean temperature and temperature that people turned off the air conditioner became lower. These different indoor thermal environment of each group means that younger generation is familiar with cooler from their early age and these early uses of cooler made them prefer cooler condition than family of senior. Therefore, this results show that different indoor thermal environment is influenced by factors such as household type and metabolism difference and so on.

Mean skin temperature can predict human thermal sensation, but this is difficult to use in field experiment, because it has to measure several body points inside of clothes and many thermistor wires have to be connected from body points to a data logger. Based on this background, the primary objective of this study is to find the local skin points which can predict thermal sensation effectively and to explores how local skin temperature correlates with thermal sensation for the development of portable thermal sensation measurement tool. Temperature of back of the hand and fingertip was selected as point that represents human overall-body thermal sensation and compared with mean skin temperature. The results show that temperatures of back of the hand and fingertip were correlated with human thermal sensation and thermal preference. So, these local skin temperature can be used for prediction of thermal sensation and preference.

The purpose of this study is to develop of portable thermal comfort measurement tool for elderly. Using prediction expression of thermal comfort for elderly which derived at previous study, a field studies were conducted. The objects of this survey are old persons over 60 years old and total 296 (male:111 persons, female:145 persons) persons were measured. The actual thermal sensation was compared with predicted thermal sensation calculated with PMV model, and the results shows that there were no correlation between them. Also, appling cheek temperature and hand temperature were useful to predict thermal sensation of elderly people. Especially, predicted thermal sensation using cheek temperature were closely connected with actual thermal sensation of elderly and presented most similar trend to actual thermal sensation.
