The stable driving condition of high speed gear is approached by shape modifications of a gear tooth. Recently, many gear designers are using FEM for the design and the manufacture of a high precision gear. In this paper, it is aimed to drive in stable sound level through the modification of the tooth and the shape of a gear. The simulation is used to understand the effect of holes for the decrement of weight and the stress variation for the tooth modification. beam elements used to simulate the same condition as a real gear drive by FEM. The driven gear is simulated to 60,000rpm for the tooth modification.
Study on High Temperature Processing of Biocompatible Ti-10Ta-10Nb Alloys

Specimens of Ti-10Ta-10Nb have become hot forging after being heated to the state of α + β or â-phase. Various temperatures (650,700, 750, 800, 850oC) and strain rates (0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 s-1) are used. Based on the flow stress data from temperatures and compressive strain rates, a processing map was developed. Processing efficiency is high below about 0.1 s-1 of strain rates and at almost all the temperatures, but reduced at 0.001 s-1 and 800oC because of the occurring of Shear band. Processing methods for optimal process are summarized on the basis of experimental findings. Bio-compatibility experiments indicated that Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy is better than the control, Ti-6Al-4V alloy.
A study on the microstructural property and thermal property of Ti-alloys without Al as biomaterials

Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloys were designed for surgical implants, dental and orthopedic materials without V and Al. Specimens of the Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy were remelted three times through the consumable VAR process and were made into small rods. Homogenization heat treatment was carried out for 24 hours under a vacuum of 10-3 torr and at constant temperature of 1050℃ and then the specimens were cooled in water. After that, we observed the microstructure of the alloy by using an SEM. Rockwell (B) hardness, thermal expansion coefficient and specific heat of the Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy were measured in order to examine the material properties. It was found that the mechanical property of the specimen was altered by the heat treatment, and thermal expansion coefficient and specific heat of the Ti-10Ta-10Nb alloy would be useful data for engineering processing design.

The LED failure rate depends in large measure on the physical properties of packaging materials(epoxy). There are many variables which have great influence on the physical properties of packaging materials, but the glass transitions temperature(Tg) as one of important physical properties was changed and analyzed about failure shapes at that time in this study, and the failure shapes by the amount of epoxy and the wire bonding structure were analyzed as well. The analysis result of the failure rate came out as the smaller the mount of epoxy is, the lower the failure rate is. The analysis result of the difference of the glass transitions temperature came out as the higher the temperature is, the higher the safety of LED is.
