The aim of this study is to figure out the current status of Korean language education as non-major in Japanese universities. For this aim, I conducted a survey of students who are taking Korean lessons as a non-major class. The survey was held over seven months, from July 2013 to January 2014, and 481 students were surveyed, attending eight universities in Japan. To sum up the results of the survey, there was found a higher interest in Korean popular culture that leads to learning the Korean language, compared to previous Korean Waves in Japan. In addition, learners are also hoping to gain Korean language proficiency higher than the current level of the curriculum, but they do not like to go to Korea to study. Therefore, it is necessary that Korean education in universities in Japan quips to the demands of students. These results tell us that the Korean education courses in Japanese universities are being asked for a reorganization of the whole curriculum to meet the needs of learners.
영상레이더(SAR)용 3차원 산란점 점구름 표적모델의 교량 지역에 대한 적용

영상레이더(SAR)에서 인공표적에 대한 모델링은 주로 3차원 CAD(Computer Aided Design) 모델의 면(face) 및 모서리(edge)에서 반사되는 레이더 신호를 광선추적(ray-tracing) 방식으로 시뮬레이션하고 있고, 지구 표면의 클러터(clutter)에 대한 모델링은 영상레이더 이미지 자체에 대한 통계학적(statistical) 분석을 통해 분포(distribution) 특성이 유사한 종류들을 구분하는 방식을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지상의 인공표적 및 지표면의 배경 클러터를 3차원 점구름(point cloud) 산란점(scatterer point) 모델로 만들고 두 개의 모델이 통합된 상황에서 계산적(computational)인 신호처리 과정을 통해 영상레이더 이미지를 생성하였으며, 이것을 실제 차량탑재형 영상레이더 시스템의 스트립맵(stripmap) 이미지 생성 결과 및 전자기적(EM) 모델링 또는 통계학적 분포 모델을 사용하여 분석한 결과와 유사한 지 비교해 보았다. 모델링 대상은 지상의 인공표적인 교량(다리)을 선정 했는데, 그 이유는 교량의 경유 주변에 수면과 지면이 같이 존재하는 특성이 있고 또한 군사용 및 민간용 활용에서 모두 관심이 많은 표적이기 때문이다. Modeling of artificial targets in Synthetic Aperture radar (SAR) mainly simulates radar signals reflected from the faces and edges of the 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) model with a ray-tracing method, and modeling of the clutter on the Earth’s surface uses a method of distinguishing types with similar distribution characteristics through statistical analysis of the SAR image itself. In this paper, man-made targets on the surface and background clutter on the terrain are integrated and made into a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud scatterer model, and SAR image were created through computational signal processing. The results of the SAR Stripmap image generation of the actual automobile based SAR radar system and the results analyzed using EM modeling or statistical distribution models are compared with this 3D point cloud scatterer model. The modeling target is selected as an bridge because it has the characteristic of having both water surface and ground terrain around the bridge and is also a target of great interest in both military and civilian use.

The aim of this study is to investigate the learning motivation of Korean language learners in Japanese universities. Especially we focus on non-majored Korean learners to explore how experience on Korea affects learners. We conduct a survey with 629 students in six different regions in Japan. They all attend non-major Korean class. As a result, Japanese university students tend to choose Korean class based on intrinsic motivation rather than extrinsic motivation: Interests in Korean food, Korean pop-culture, and Korean language affects their choice. In addition, learners prefer comprehensive proficiency to expression ability. From these results, we can conclude that we need to increase Korean experience in Korean classes to meet the requirements of Korean language learners in Japanese Universities.
