By comparing the proteins from the workers exposed to styrene with the ones from controls, it may be possible to identify proteins that play a role in the occurrence and progress of occupational disease and thus to study the molecular mechanisms of occupational disease. In order to find the biomarkers for assessing the styrene effects early, before clinical symptoms develop and to understand the mechanisms of adverse health effects, we surveyed 134 employees, among whom 52 workers(30 male and 22 female) were chronically exposed to styrene in 10 glass-reinforced plastic boat manufacturing factories in Korea and 82 controls had never been occupationally exposed to hazardous chemicals including styrene. The age and drinking habits and serum biochemistry such as total protein, BUN and serum creatinine in both groups were significantly different. Exposed workers were divided into three groups according to exposure levels of styrene(G1, below 1/2 TLV; G2, 1/2 TLV to TLV; G3, above TLV). The mean concentration of airborne styrene in G1 group was 10.93±11.33 ppm, and those of urinary mandelic acid(MA) and phenylglyoxylic acid(PGA) were 0.17±0.21 and 0.13±0.11 g/g creatinine, respectively. The mean concentration of airborne styrene in G2 and G3 groups were 47.54±22.43 and 65.33±33.47 ppm, respectively, and levels of urinary metabolites such as MA and PGA increased considerably as expected with the increase in exposure level of styrene. The airborne styrene concentration were significantly correlated to the urinary concentration of MA(r=0.784, p=0.000) and PGA(r=0.626, p<0.001). In the 2D electrophoresis, the concentration of five proteins including complement C3 precursor, alpha-1-antitrypsin(AAT), vitamin D binding protein precursor(DBP), alpha-1-B-glycoprotein(A1BG) and inter alpha trypsin inhibitor(ITI) heavy chain-related protein were significantly altered in workers exposed to styrene compared with controls. While expression of complement C3 precursor and AAT increased by exposure to styrene, expression of DBP, A1BG and ITI heavy chain-related protein decreased. These results suggest that the exposure of styrene might affects levels of plasma proteinase, carriers of endogenous substances and immune system. In particular, increasing of AAT with the increase in exposure level of styrene can explain the tissue damage and inflammation by the imbalance of proteinase/antiproteinase and decrease of DBP, A1BG and ITI heavy chain-related protein in workers exposed to styrene is associated with dysfunction and/or declination in immune system and signal transduction.

This study focused on healing process and meaning of the narrative structure of travel novel step by step, and attempted philosophical analysis in Jung``s analytical psychology point of view. Through this the healing process of travel let the one to be conscious from his own unconscious and finally it is confirmed that self-actualization process of analytical psychology to individuation is in the same context. In this study the healing value of the travel was named ``Travel Therapy``. Travel Therapy is the overall experience of the inner to feel the value of the self through travel experience process and this was defined as inner healing activity which lead to daily life to assist valuably the currently lives. And also this study precluded each time differences, circumstances, and writer consciousness, tried toemphasize healing value of travel with focusing on personal circumstances of the travel subject. Recently the researches proposed the social feasibility by using the name of travel therapy such as building a travel therapy programs for mental illness like depression, suicide, improved youth educational tourism as travel therapy system, and developed travel therapy program that combines literature, philosophy, music, art and the humanities treatment. In conclusion, this study found the healing value of the travel through travel novel and psychological analysis. This means that it prove ‘healing process of travel’ is the same context with ‘human self-actualization’. This study suggests that the therapeutic value of travel has potential as a form of social advantage of travel therapy.

In this paper, data rate of VDSL system was analyzed in noise and crosstalk environment. For this paper, Matlab tool was used to analyze the performance of VDSL system. Various "VDSL Test Loop" are used which is suggested by ANSI DSL Standard group T1E1.4. Many parameters, "Noise Model A", "Noise Model F", duplex method VDSL-998 which is suggested FDD plan by ANSI was used. The most of conditions for simulation are followed to the ANSI Standard "Spectrum management" Lots of data have been obtained according to the different conditions of the test loops. The result shows that the data rate of VDSL system is decreased due to the other DSL signals in the same cable bundle. And also there was more reduced data rate in case of Noise Model F than that of Noise Model A.

During survey of blood lead concentration of workers who worked in lead refining industry, we found that some foreign workers showed increased blood lead level compared with that of domestic workers. The mean concentration of lead in blood for foreign workers (15%, 13 workers, mean age: 29) was 55.8 ug/dL which was over biological exposure index, while that of Korean workers (85%, 76 workers, mean age: 42) was 28.9 ug/dL. Some other biological markers of lead exposure such as ZPP and δ-ALA also showed elevated levels. Most of foreign workers stayed in dormitories near or in the factories that may cause to let them under the condition of 24 hours exposure of lead. The lack of safety manual on proper prevention of lead exposure in their own language for effective communication may be one of reasons of elevated blood lead concentration of foreign workers.

English activity workbooks, which include materials for level-differentiated instruction and self-directed learning, will be first used along with English textbooks at secondary schools from 2009, based on the national curriculum of English revised in August, 2006. The purpose of this study is to develop a model lesson of the English activity workbook for middle school first graders. To this end, a survey of 49 middle school English teachers and 251 students was conducted to identify their needs of the English activity workbook. In addition, 7 ESL/EFL workbooks for secondary students were analyzed for information on lesson structure, and teaching and learning activities. Based on the results of the survey and workbook analysis, one lesson for the English activity workbook was designed and written. Finally, the lesson was reviewed by a native speaker of English and 10 English teachers, and was modified based on this review. The model lesson contains 8 different sections: schema and culture, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, grammar, writing, and self-assessment. The schema and culture section, vocabulary section and self-assessment section provide explanations and activities for all the levels. The activities in the rest of the sections are organized into three levels of difficulty: Basic, Supplementary, and Enriched.
