This paper aims to compare some newspaper websites of South Korea with Japanese sites. Newspaper organizations communicate with their audience through their websites in a digitalized society. However, a difference in media environment and cultural background between Korea and Japan may influence website management. Using feature analysis and network analysis, eight newspaper websites are comparatively analyzed: 4 sites from each country. The result shows that news sites of Korea and Japan have some contrasting characteristics in terms of the four features: Communication, Information, Business and SNSs (Social Networking Services). Interaction and SNS features between readers and journalists are more prevalent in Korea than Japan. Korean newspaper sites tend to actively provide their visitors with premium contents. On the other hand, community features are better developed in Japan than Korea.

Traditionally, one uses a method of straight-line recognition to evaluate quality of product or service. One can satisfy with the product or service if their physical requirement of are met some criterions and can not satisfy them if their physical requirement are not met. Kano, et al(1984) introduce two dimensional Quality model to evaluate quality of product or service. They classify Quality Characteristic of product and service to three categories; satisfying quality, attractive quality, expected quality. In this paper, 17 evaluation features in 6 categories of smart-card are obtained from Focus-interview and Brainstorming and classified into 3 categories of quality model by Kano"s two dimensional method. This classification is expected to provide a guideline for evaluation of smart-card.

The purpose of this study is to examine the trends of web-based research in the field of Korean language education in order to suggest the direction of future research. This study analyzed 282 web-based Korean education studies based on three criteria: research general, research subject, and research topic. First of all, in ‘research general’, web-based Korean education research has grown quantitatively and qualitatively since the late 90s. In particular, as of 2010, when the use of smart devices became common, web-based Korean education research showed marked increase. Next, in ‘research subjects’, there were an overwhelmingly large number of studies for general purpose learners and all levels. Lastly, in ‘research topics’, the ‘teaching-learning method’ of research using the web was most frequently conducted. Also, in the teaching-learning tool, studies regarding MALL were rapidly increasing. Through this analysis, this study suggested the direction of future research as follows. First, future research should be able to verify their educational effectiveness. Second, in order to verify them, commercialization is needed through collaboration with educational engineering, computer engineering, and AI-related businesses. Third, research is required based on various learning purposes, needs, and variables of Korean learners. Fourth, it is necessary to study ways to increase the learning motivation of self-learning users. Fifth, there is a need for research on ways to activate the interaction between teachers and learners on the web. Sixth, it is necessary to study application development that fully reflects the specificity and advantages of MALL. (Korea University, The Cyber University of Korea, Korea University)
