A feeding experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of deletion of P, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn, or Se from mineral premix in the diets containing 40% fish meal on growth performance of juvenile Korean rockfish. Three replicate groups of the firth initially averaging 5.4 g were fed the experimental diets deleted one of each mineral (P, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn, Se or all) in the mineral premix for 9 weeks. A basal diet with fish meal (40%), meat meal (9%), soybean meal (5%), corngluten meal (3%), and feather meal (3%) as protein sources were included. Weight gain in fish fed diets deleted Ca, Zn, K, or 5e was lower than that of control diet (P<0.05). Daily feed intake, condition factor, hepatosomatic index and liver chemical composition were not affected by dietary mineral premixes ( P>0.05), Apparent skeletal deformities were not observed in the diets deleted each mineral. The data obtained in this study indicate that each of the Ca, Zn, K, or Se should be added in the diet contained 40% fish meal for normal growth of Korean rockfish.
조피볼락 육성용 사료의 어분 대체원으로서 식물성 및 동물성 단백질 혼합 첨가 효과

A 15-week growth trial was conducted in flow-through aquarium system to develop practical feeds for growing Korean rockfish. Two replicate groups of the fish averaging 114 g were fed one of nine diets containing 45∼50% crude protein from various practical ingredients such as fish meal, meat meal, feather meal, blood meal, soybean meal, corn gluten meal, and wheat flour with or without supplemental essential amino acids (EAA) or enzyme mixture. The dietary EAA were adjusted by considering EAA composition of each dietary protein source, A/E ratio (each essential amino acid×1000/total essential amino acid including Cys and Tyr) calculated using AA composition of the Korean rockfish whole body and the EAA requirement of other fish. Results indicate that animal and plant protein sources could substitute for fish meal up to 50% in the diets, and the supplementation of amino acids and enzyme mixture have no beneficial effects on fish performance, Fish growth, body composition, nutrient utilization, and cost of fish production are discussed in relation to nutritional values of the protein sources used in diets.

An 18-week growth trial was conducted in flow-through aquarium system to investigate the effects of several additives in formulated diets on the growth and body composition of juvenile abalone (Haliotis discus hannai). Four replicate groups of abalone averaging 150 ㎎ were fed one of four isonitrogenous (33.8%) and isolipidic (5.8%) diets containing 5% squid meal, 0.5% attractant, 1% herb or 0.5% lecithin. In addition, these formulated diets were compared to commercial diet. Survival rate and shell growth of abalone were not significantly affected by the different dietary additives and commercial diet (P>0.1). Body weight gain of abalone fed the diet containing herb was higher than those of abalone fed the diets containing squid meal or lecithin and commercial diet (P<0.1). Moisture, protein, lipid and ash contents of soft body were not influenced by dietary additives and commercial diet (P>0.1). The results suggest that herb as additive in this formulated diet can improve weight gain of abalone.

A 10-week feeding experiment was conducted to determine the influence of several minerals from dietary mineral premix on growth and body composition in juvenile Korean rockfish. Three replicate groups of fish initially averaging 4.2 g were fed one of the ten experimental diets. Korean rockfish muscle and casein as protein sources were used in the basal diet, and deleted one of each mineral (P, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn, Se or all) in the control mineral premix. Weight gain, feed efficiency and Nutrient retention in fish fed the diet not containing mineral premix were significantly lower than those in fish fed other diets ( P<0.01). Weight grin in fish fed the diets deleted each mineral (P, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn or Se) was lower thats that of control diet (P<0.01). Feed efficiency and protein retention in fish fed the diets deleted each of P, Ca, Zn or Mn were lower than those of control diet (P<0.01), Daily feed intake and lipid retention were not affected by dietary mineral premixes(P>0.01). proximate analysis and mineral contents in the whole body, muscle, liver or bone of fish fed the diets deleted earth mineral were not different to control diet (P>0.01). The data obtained in this study indicate that each of the F, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn or Se is essential for normal growth of Korean rockfish.

cold storage of concentrated food phytoplanktons is a useful technique in supplying food organisms for artificial shellfish seed. One month after preservation at 4℃, we have measnred survival rate of the concentrated food phytoplanktons, Pavlova lutheri, Isochrysis galbana, Isochrysis aff. galbana and Chaetoceros calcitrans. Thereafter we determined survival rate of oyster larvae fed fresh and concentrated diets and fatty acid compositions of the fresh and concentrated food phytoplanktons. Survival rate of concentrated planktons ranged from 23% to 31% after one month at 4℃. The survival rate of oyster larvae fad cold shred food appeared generally higher than those fed fresh harvested food. Especially, the highest survival rate were found in the larbae fed cold stored concentrated I. aff. galbana. EPA and DHA increased after cold storage and the highest level of DHA was detected in I. aff. galbana. As DHA can role as an important factor in determing nutritional value, it would be better to use concentrated I. aff. galbana kept in cold refrigerator for oyster seed production.
사료의 단백질이 조피볼락 혈액중 Insulin - like growth factor - 1 ( IGF - 1 ) 및 IGF - binding protein - 3 에 미치는 영향

조피볼락을 실험어로 하여 사료 단백질의 함량과 단백질원을 달리하여 공급한 후 동물의 성장인자 중 하나인 Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I)과 IGFBP-3의 혈중농도를 검토하였다. 사료 단백질의 함량이 50%∼60% 급여군에서 성장이 좋았고, 혈액중 IGF-I 농도도 높게 나타났다. 그리고 콘글루텐과 우모분보다 질적으로 우수한 어분, 대두박분, 육분을 첨가한 사료로 사육한 조피볼락의 혈액중 IGF-I과 IGFBP-3가 높은 것으로 나타났으므로, 어류 단백질 대사수준을 파악하는 지표로 활용이 가능하였다. Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) is a mitogenic peptide with a molecular mass of 7 kDa. It is produced mainly in the liver and has important functions in the regulation of development and somatic growth. Moreover, Serum IGF-I concentration is regulated by the quantity and the nutritional quality of dietary protein. To determine the IGF-I level in Korean rockfish, Sabastes schlegeli, were fed four experiment diets that contained different protein quantities, namely 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% for 70 days. Weight gain of the fish increased depending dietary protein quantity. Also, IGF-I concentrations increased according to dietary protein quantity. Feeding experiments were conducted to examine the effects of dietary protein sources on the serum IGF-I level in Korean rockfish. Fish meal (CO), soybean meal (SM), corn-gluten meal (CGM), meat meal (MM) and feather meal (FM) were used as variable protein sources of the formulated diet. IGF-I concentrations of the CO and MM groups (277.7 ±23.2, 291.5 ±41.2 ng/㎖) were higher than those of the CGM and FM groups (208.9 ±21.3, 217.2 ±38.2 ng/㎖). And IGFBP-3 levels by western blot analysis increased in good protein diets such as in the CO and MM groups. In conclusion, IGF-I may be a sensitive indicator the protein metabolism in fish as well as mammalian.

본 연구는 2001년 3월에서 5월까지 어류 해상가두리 양식장에서 사육하고 있던 찰돔, Pagrus major, 감성돔, Acanthopagrus schlegeli 및 돌돔, Oplegnathus fasciatuas과 육상에서 사육한 강담돔, Oplegnathus punctatus의 혈청성분을 분석하여 월동시기 이후에 돔류의 폐사원인으로 판단되는 녹간증을 나타내는 병어의 혈청생화학성분을 분석하여 생화학적특성을 조사하고자 하였다. 조사한 어류는 양식자의 그물 가장자리에서 균형을 잃고 옆으로 눕거나 뒤집어져 유영하는 개체들을 수집하여 혈액을 체취, 혈청을 분리한 후 생화학분석기(DRI-CAM 3000)으로 Albumin 의 9가지의 혈청성분을 분석한 결과, GOT, GPT값이 정상어에 비해 매우 높아 돔류의 정상적인 간기능에 장애가 생긴 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 Albumin, Ca, Glucose 값에는 뚜렷한 영향을 주지 않았으나 NH_3는 기준값에 비해 다소 높았다. TBIL, TP, UA는 정상어에 비해 매우 낮은 수치였다. 따라서 이러한 돔류에는 겨울철 저수온으로 사료를 정상적으로 먹지 못하여 어체에 영향결핍을 초래하고 있어 저수온 스트레스 등의 생태습성 부적합에 의하여 논간현상이 발생하는 것으로 판단되었다 A blood biochemical analysis was carried out for the serum of wintering sea bream (red sea bream Pagrus major, black sea bream Acanthopagrus schlegeli, rock bream Oplegenathus fasciantuas) with green liver syndrome. GOT and GPT were significantaly elavated in the diseased sea bream. The value of NH_3 was slightly higher but those of TBIL. TP and UA were lower than the control. But there were no differences in albumin. Ca and glucose between the diseased and the control. These results suggent that a green liver syndrome in the sea bream might be related with nutritional defects and the stress of low water temperature during the winter.
극동산 , 북미산 및 유럽산 실뱀장어의 종 구분과 성장에 따른 형태적 변화

This study was conducted to obtain data for identification of species among elvers of anguillids, Anguilla japonica and A. anguilla and A. rostrata implanted in Korea for culture. The longer predorsal length and the fewer number of vertebrae distinguished elvers of A. rostracta from those of A. anguilla and A. japonica. A. japonica and A. anguilla were well discriminated each other in the statistical value of preanal length which the former showed shorter distance. It was remarked phylogenetically that the morphological changes according to growth in head and predorsal length of A. rostrata was different from other two species. So the elvers of A. japonica, A. anguilla and A. rostrata culturing in Korea can be distinguished by the vertebral counts, predorsal and preanal length.
